I recently stayed at your Holiday Inn in Lake George NY. I have a dietary restriction. Unlike most hotels, your restaurant hostess took a sincere interest and made arrangements for me to speak with your chef. He went in turn went out of his way to accommodate me. Congrats to a staff that makes your stay there a happy experience.

Wonderful Resort and Kudos to Great Staff

I had no idea what a Holiday Inn Resort was, so I was extremely surprised with our stay at your Lake George facility. Nice clean rooms with a great view of Lake George. Beautiful lobby areas, very large indoor and outdoor pools bocce ball court, putting practice green, and an exceptional breakfast available at the adjoining TR restaurant (extra cost). Particular Kudos to Becca at Reception who was wonderful in every way and to Samantha in the TR Restaurant who could not have been more helpful and nice. Both are strong credits to your hotel resort.

Return Visit to Lake George

I first visited Lake George 40+ years ago while on a 3 week tour of the northeast of the USA. Coming from Scotland it reminded me of our lochs and mountains.
On our previous visit we stayed in log cabins but on this occasion decided to stay in the Holiday Inn.
A very wise choice!!!

First off, I may stay here again. Immaculate rooms, great views, lots to do. But, If I'm ever welcomed the way the lady who checked me in welcomed us I will never stay in any H.I again. We had a 5 hour drive, we are hot and tired, but still approached the desk around 3:30 with a smile and my usual affable manner. I said to her that I thought the place looked nice only to have her coldly ask if we were checking in. No hello, no how was your trip and no warm greeting smile that I thought someone who works welcoming guests should have. We were the only people in the lobby so it wasn't busy. Deadpan misery on her face the whole time. Then she starts to list off, at rapid pace, the restaurant hours, breakfast hours something about the gym and outside activities and I have no idea what else. She went so fast I couldn't understand what she said. When I asked her to repeat something, and this is why I may never go back, she slowed down and spoke to us like we were children. In a very talk down condescending way. I wanted to leave then and there. Why is this person at the front desk??? I did mention what happened to a couple of other staff members and they knew instantly who I was talking about. We also had a dirty coffee maker that a previous guest decided to run coffee through. A young man with glasses said that he would clean it for us, but when we got it back we decided to run some water through to make sure that it's clean. The water came out dark brown! He never bothered to properly clean it. I would expect better treatment from Holiday Inn than these two instances showed. But, those are overshadowed, barely, by some of the nicest people I ever met. Gary and Patty at the desk were awesome, the younger girl at breakfast was a delight - the thin young gentleman not so. Why is it so hard to have your staff interact with your guests with warmth and friendliness? The young man who cleaned our room, Jose, was fantastic. I don't think I ever had a cleaner room. Other cleaning staff that we met were also very friendly. We love Lake George and wish to make it a yearly destination and we would love to stay at your resort, but miserable people should not be working there. Thank you.

Thank you to Patti at the front desk. She was a pkeasure to deal with, as were all members if the staff we interacted with. They turned an unpleasant event (car broke down) into a positive one!
