The Cherry Blossom Festival

Washington D.C’s most famous celebration is the annual National Cherry Blossom Festival. It occurs most years in March simultaneous to the arrival of the delicate pink tree blooms. The event includes a series of parades and activities, commemorating the gift of 3,000 cherry trees to the district of Washington from the Mayor of Tokyo in 1912.
