We’re thrilled to be a part of the IHG family, alongside the 11 successful brands in its portfolio, and are excited by the great synergy between our respective culture and values.   • Are there any plans to change the Kimpton brand?
    Our unscripted and heartfelt approach to hospitality has been the hallmark of our brand since our inception in 1981. It’s what has made us uniquely Kimpton and we have no plans to change that. Our plans are to continue to grow Kimpton, while holding tight to the brand attributes that have defined our boutique approach.
  • You’re known for some signature amenities and programs (i.e. yoga mats, bikes for loan and being extremely pet friendly) - will they go away now that you’re a part of a larger brand?
    Our perks and amenities are very much a part of who we are and what you can expect from the Kimpton brand. We like to weave in unexpected surprises, we thrive on delivering experiences that will pique your curiosity and we love to fold in a little fun with everything we do. To that end, our personalized guest care, creative amenities and thoughtful perks will continue to be a part of the Kimpton way.
  • Will Kimpton hotels and restaurants outside of the U.S. be run differently from your U.S. hotels?
    Kimpton hotels and restaurants outside of the U.S. will have the same heartfelt guest care, distinctive design and superlative service that Kimpton has within the U.S. What you can expect to be different is the local and cultural influences that are never duplicated across any Kimpton. 
Loyalty Program Questions
  • Is Kimpton Karma Rewards now a part of IHG® Rewards Club?
    Kimpton Karma Rewards became a part of IHG® Rewards Club on January 1, 2018  – as a single reward program with one points system – bringing you the best of the Kimpton experience along with the benefits of IHG® Rewards Club. Now you have the ability to earn and redeem points at nearly 5,300 hotels worldwide, as well as hundreds of great partner benefits for things like gift cards and fuel to dining rewards, rental cars and more.

    The personalized recognition that defined Kimpton Karma continues to be the heart of the on-property Kimpton experience. As long as you’re opted in for Karma communication preferences, we’ll also continue to bring you exclusive offers, invitations to private events and social perks when you register your social handle.

    Our beloved ‘Raid the Bar’ perk, where you can use a $10 credit ($15 in New York) toward a beverage in the hotel bar or something from your room-mini bar, will also remain for all elite members of IHG® Rewards Club (Gold Elite, Platinum Elite, Spire Elite and of course Inner Circle) when checking into a Kimpton hotel. All IHG® Rewards Club members can also look forward to the $30 Spa Credit at select hotels as well as free WiFi at Kimpton hotels. Please note that these perks are specific to Kimpton stays only.
  • Do I need to opt-in to receive exclusive offers or last minute deals?
    Yes. All Kimpton Karma members who are currently opted in for exclusive offers or last minute deals will remain opted into Kimpton specific offers. For new IHG® Rewards Club Members, you can opt-in for special offers when you join. If you are an existing IHG Rewards Club Member, and not currently opted in for Karma, opt in here.
Earning + Redeeming
  • Are my Karma Free Night Rewards still valid?
    Your valid Karma Free Night Rewards were converted to IHG® Rewards Club Reward Nights and remain valid in your new IHG® Rewards Club account, with their existing expiration date.  You can redeem these at any IHG® hotel including, Kimpton Hotels.
  • Will I be able to redeem my reward night at either Kimpton or other IHG brand Hotels?
    Yes. In addition to Kimpton Hotels, you now have access to nearly 5,300 IHG hotels in almost 100 countries. And, redeeming is easy: you can book it yourself on the ihg.com, through the IHG® Mobile App or by calling Kimpton Customer Care at (888) 695-4678. The best part? IHG Rewards Club Reward Nights have no blackout dates!

    With IHG® Rewards Club, you also have access to hundreds of other reward options, in addition to hotel stays, through IHG’s rich online catalog. Things like the latest tech gadgets, rental cars, jewelry and so much more.

    Additionally, IHG Rewards Club members can earn points through our partners like our Chase Credit Card and for dining through OpenTable, as well as earning through IHG Rewards Club Dining. An added benefit is the ability to choose to earn your favorite airline miles instead of points. Talk about choice!

    With the award-winning IHG® Mobile App, you can easily search, book, redeem and manage your rewards and membership. The IHG Mobile App provides all members with the easiest way to stay connected and rewarded. Download it in the App Store by searching for IHG® Rewards Club.
  • Are my transferred Karma Reward Nights subject to blackout dates?
    There are no reward blackout dates for your transferred Karma Reward Nights or when redeeming your new IHG® Rewards Club points for Reward Nights. That means you have the ability to redeem 365 days at nearly 5,300 hotels in almost 100 countries.
  • How do I earn points at Kimpton hotels?
    IHG® Rewards Club members who stay at Kimpton hotels will receive 10 points for every US dollar spent on a qualified room rate. Elite members (Gold, Platinum, Spire and Inner Circle) will receive bonus points on top of that, as defined in the tier benefits table here.
  • What’s the difference between qualified points, non-qualified points and bonus points within IHG Rewards Club?
    For purposes of determining Elite status, IHG® Rewards Club points are classified as either Qualifying Tier Points or Non-Qualifying Tier Points. Take a look at the IHG Rewards Club Terms & Conditions to learn more about qualifying tier and non-qualifying tier points.
  • How many points will I need to earn to get a free night at a Kimpton?
    Point values will vary by hotel. Generally, the range to redeem a free night at Kimpton will be 40,000 – 70,000 points for a deluxe category room only.
  • Next year will I only earn points for my personal stays, or will I earn points for any rooms I pay for?
    Great news! At U.S. and Canadian hotels (except InterContinental® Alliance Resorts), you can earn points or miles on all eligible charges for up to 9 rooms, as long as the rooms are at the same hotel and IHG® Rewards Club member number and name are on each reservation. So, if you're booking a small group, you can earn the points on all the rooms (up to 9 rooms).   • I have a Kimpton visit from 2017 that I never received credit for, will I still be able to add it to my new IHG® Rewards Club account like I would have with Kimpton Karma Rewards?
    Our Kimpton Customer Care agents have many talents. They can award points for qualified stays to your profile as long as it was within the past six months as a member. You can reach Kimpton Customer Care at: (888) 695-4678.
  • Can members gift points to other members?
    IHG® Rewards Club points may be transferred between any two specifically designated member accounts. A member may authorize the transfer of a specific number of IHG® Rewards Club points into another member's account. The cost to the member authorizing the transfer will be $5 USD per 1,000 points transferred, and can only be paid for by a credit card.
Program Migration Details
  • How did you convert my Kimpton Karma progress toward my next reward night?

    Your night progress balance was automatically converted to IHG® Rewards Club points when the programs came together, as follows:

     

    • Tier 1 (Club) – 1,000 points per night accrued as of December 31, 2017.
    • Tiers 2 (Gold Elite), 3 (Platinum Elite), and Inner Circle (Spire Elite) – 2,000 points per night accrued as of December 31, 2017.

    Your IHG® Reward Club points can be redeemed at nearly 5,300 IHG hotels around the world, as well as gift cards, merchandise, digital rewards and so much more.

  • Does my converted Karma Free Night Rewards have the same expiration and redemption rules that apply with Kimpton Karma Rewards?
    The expiration date for your transferred Karma Free Night Reward will remain the same, however we’ll have some different redemption parameters – Hello, no reward blackout dates!

  • I booked a Karma Free Night Reward in 2017 for a 2018 stay and I want to cancel or modify the booking, can I do this online?
    You will be able to see your Karma Free Night Reservation in your IHG® Rewards Club account, however you will not be able to modify or cancel it online. Just call Kimpton Customer Care at (888) 695-4678 and they can help you out. Please note, the corresponding Reward Night can be viewed in your account as well, the status will show as “redeemed.”
  • How do I book the Inner Circle New Hotel Free Night Offer?
    You can book your new hotel free night offer online once the Free Night has been deposited into your account or you may contact our Kimpton Customer Care agents at (888) 695-4678 and they’ll be happy to help.    Learn more here.

  • I received an email saying that I have a new IHG® Rewards Club account, but I can’t sign in. What do I do?
    We’re sorry you’re not able to get into your account.  Please give our Kimpton Customer Care agents a ring at (888) 695-4678 and they will be happy to help you.
  • How do I create a PIN for my new IHG® Rewards Club account?
    There are a couple ways to do this. First, look for the email we sent you as it will have instructions to set up your PIN. You also should have received a separate email with your member number. Feel free to call  Kimpton Customer Care at (888) 695-4678 or chat by clicking the Need Help link at the top the IHG.com website if you need more help.
  • When will I see my Free Reward Nights points for my previous Kimpton activity post to my new IHG® Rewards Club account?
    Once you receive your IHG® Rewards Club membership details and PIN (password) you’ll be able to log into your account and view your Free Reward Nights, points balance, and tier status.  You can see them here. 
  • When will I see my preferences in my new IHG® Rewards Club account?
    Once you receive your IHG® Rewards Club membership details and PIN (password) you’ll be able to log into your account and view your preferences in your new IHG® Rewards Club account.
  • I used to get Karma statements via email and now I no longer receive them, what happened?
    Since you are now part of IHG® Rewards Club, your monthly account summary will be sent by IHG® Rewards Club. Make sure you are opted in to receive emails by signing into your IHG® Rewards Club account and navigate to Communication Preferences.
  • I would like to opt-out of receiving IHG® Rewards Club eStatements and newsletters.
    You can manage which email you receive by signing into your IHG® Rewards Club account and navigate to Communication Preferences.  
  • Will I be able to see my 2017 Kimpton Stays in my IHG® Rewards Club Account?
    Your night credits from your qualified 2017 stays have transferred to your IHG® Rewards Club account; however, please note your actual 2017 reservations will not appear in your account. If you would like a list of your 2017 Kimpton reservations, please contact Kimpton Karma Customer Care at 888-695-4678.
  • Will I be able to add a 2017 Kimpton stay to my IHG® Rewards Club Account using the “Don’t see your stays” section of my new IHG® Rewards Club account?
    The stay finder feature in your new IHG® Rewards Club account will locate and add Kimpton stays beginning January 1, 2018.  To request points for a Kimpton stay from 2017 please contact Kimpton Customer Care at (888) 695-4678.
  • How will I access my hotel bill from a 2017 Kimpton Stay?
    You will need to contact the hotel directly to request a Kimpton hotel bill from 2017.  You can access all Kimpton reservations beginning January 1, 2018 via the IHG Mobile App.
  • Will I be able to use the Report Missing Points link on IHG.com to request credit for my 2017 Kimpton Stays?
    We’d be happy to give you points for any qualified 2017 Kimpton stays. You will need to contact Kimpton Karma Customer Care at 888 695-4678.
Karma Perks + Benefits
  • Is Raid the Bar still a benefit when a member stays at Kimpton?
    Yes! Raid the Bar is now the welcome amenity for IHG® Rewards Club Gold Elite (Tier 2), Platinum Elite (Tier 3), and Spire Elite (Inner Circle) members when staying at Kimpton.
  • I am an Inner Circle member, will I still receive Raid the Bar as well as my personalized amenity?
    Yes, the Inner Circle personalized amenity is absolutely still a part of your Kimpton experience. Be sure to keep your beverage and snack preference updated, as well as any other special requests, in your account so that we can continue making your amenity as special as possible.   • Will I still be able to redeem my Journey Free Night Reward?
    Just like Reward Nights, valid Journey Rewards are yours to keep until they expire. They should have been transferred to your IHG Rewards Club account as an IHG® Rewards Club Free Night Reward.
  • What do I do if I see that my Free Night didn’t transfer or my night progress did not convert correctly?
    If there’s something missing, please reach out to Kimpton Customer care at (888) 695-4678.
  • What will happen to my Kimpton Karma Tier 2 + Tier 3 one-time rewards (upgrades, welcome amenity)?
    They remain active and can be redeemed at any Kimpton hotel. Note, they’re not visible in your IHG® Rewards Club account. But, not to worry, just call Kimpton Customer Care at (888) 695-4678 to redeem them or to discuss any rewards-related questions.
Inner Circle
  • What happens to the Inner Circle program?
    Good news! Inner Circle remains as our exclusive invitation-only tier within Spire Elite, the top tier in IHG® Rewards Club.
  • Do the Inner Circle perks remain the same?
    Yes! Your personalized Inner Circle Amenity, Raid the Bar, Complimentary Chefs’ taste and a free night at participating new Kimpton hotels all remain. Plus, if you earned Inner Circle by the end of 2017, you now also get the very rich Spire Elite benefits, which includes complimentary upgrades and priority check-in (as available) and so much more. Did we mention Spire Elite members earn 100% bonus points on every stay? Win win. 
  • Will I get my Inner Circle Amenity when staying at an InterContinental Hotel (or other IHG hotel)?
    The Inner Circle specific perks and welcome amenity are only offered at Kimpton Hotels, but you can expect other VIP treatment as a Spire Elite member when you stay at other IHG® hotels. Check out Spire Elite benefits here.
  • As an Inner Circle member, can I still take advantage of the New Kimpton Hotel Offer?
    Of course! We can’t wait to continue to welcome our Inner Circle road warriors into our newest participating hotels (and we’ve got a lot of them).
  • As an Inner Circle member, is the New Hotel Offer valid at non-Kimpton Hotels within the IHG family of brands?
    Not at this time. The New Hotel Offer benefit is exclusive to new participating Kimpton hotels only and the benefit is generally extended for a limited time at the hotel’s choosing. Check out which hotels are currently offering the free nights here.
  • How will I qualify for Inner Circle going forward, after 2018?
    Qualification for Inner Circle in 2019 will be extended to members who have earned Spire Elite status, and then by invitation only to a select group of members who are true Kimpton loyalists. 
Spire Elite
  • How do I earn IHG® Rewards Club Spire Elite?
    You can achieve Spire Elite two ways: either 75 nights OR 75,000 qualified points will get you there. This allows you to achieve Spire Elite status either by frequency of stays or by qualified room rate.
  • What is my bonus potential once I reach Spire Elite status?

    Bonus points kick in once you reach Gold Elite status.  On top of the 10 points per dollar spent on qualified room rates, you’ll also earn bonus points for Elite tiers a follows:

    • Gold Elite = 10% bonus points
    • Platinum Elite = 50% bonus points
    • Spire Elite = 100% bonus points

    The bonus points you receive on top of your 10 points per dollar spent on qualified room rate will help to get you to a Reward Night even quicker!

  • What other perks and benefits can I gain with Spire Elite?
    As a Spire Elite member, the highest status within IHG® Rewards Club, you have access to a slew of benefits.  Check out Spire Elite benefits here.

  • Can I make IHG hotel reservations with Kimpton?
    You can now make reservations for any IHG hotel, including Kimpton, by visiting: https://www.ihg.com/hotels/us/en/reservation.
  • I'm trying to book a Kimpton hotel on Kimptonhotels.com and keep getting an error message. How can I book?
    Sorry you're having issues.  We're happy to help.  Please call us at 1-800-KIMPTON and we’ll help make your reservation.
  • I'm trying to book a Kimpton reservation and my group code isn't working, how can I book with my code?
    So sorry to hear your codes are acting up. You should have received a new rate code for your group reservations in the beginning of January. If you did not receive or if your new codes are still giving you grief, please call Kimpton at 1-800-KIMPTON.
  • I’m part of the Kimpton Global Business Program and I can't book my reservation under the Global Business ID. How can I book?
    You can call 1-800-KIMPTON for help making a GBP reservation today. Note we will retire the Global Business Program in March 2018. We are introducing a new program: IHG® Business Edge, learn more here.
  • I'm a Kimpton Global Business client and I can't book my reservation under the Global Business ID - Has the Kimpton Global Business Program been retired?
