The Chicago Botanic Garden opened a little more than 40 years ago as a beautiful place to visit, and it has matured into one of the world's great living museums and conservation science centers. Each year, nearly one million people visit the Garden's 26 gardens and four natural areas, uniquely situated on 385 acres of land on and around nine islands. Six miles of shoreline extend along 81 acres of water, including the Great Basin, North Lake, and Skokie River Corridor.

Ravinia® is an internationally renowned, not-for-profit music festival, that presents outstanding performances by the world’s greatest artists. The enchanting 36-acre park boasts three venues and the popular Lawn where picnicking is an art. Ravinia supports classical music with its annual summer residency of the world-acclaimed Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Steans Music Institute for professional musicians and its Reach Teach Play music education programs.

Roller coasters, oh yeah! Six Flags is a classic theme park with roller coasters, carnival rides, hot dogs and funnel cakes on the midway and evening shows with gunfights and singing contests. But Six Flags also has a 10,000 square foot water park with rides and a simulated ocean making it a full day of entertainment for everyone.

Kohl Children’s Museum of Greater Chicago offers 17 interactive, hands-on exhibits for children ages birth to 8. All of our exhibits and programs are aligned to the Illinois State Learning Standards and are designed to nurture a love of learning in young children.
