101 S. 4th St., Columbia, MO 65201
The MKT Trail is Columbia's premier multi-use path, winding 8.9 miles from downtown's Flat Branch Park out to the Katy Trail. Built on an old railroad bed with a crushed-limestone surface, it's perfect for walking, running, and cycling through wooded hillsides and shady creek corridors. Voted one of the nation's best urban trails, it connects you straight to 240 miles of Missouri scenery. Lace up and see where the rails used to run.
The Columns are the most recognizable landmark at the University of Missouri, six Ionic pillars standing tall in the center of Francis Quadrangle. They're all that remains of Academic Hall, the campus's first building, after a fire in 1892. Locals rallied to save them from demolition, and today they anchor graduations, Tiger Walk, and countless photos. Stop by to stand where more than a century of Mizzou history began.
