    Uncomfortable bed and no customer service.

    I have stayed in a few Candlewood Suites and I have had no real issues and some really good times.

    I checked in late around 9pm on an overnight stop just to sleep while I was on the road from one duty station to my new duty station. I booked it on my phone app which I love doing. The IHG App is so intuitive. Check in was uneventful and then I headed up to my room. The key card didn't work so I went back down and got another. Room was what I expected but the bed was so uncomfortable I didn't get much sleep that night.

    Next morning I headed down to the desk to check out to get my receipt for my travel expenses. I waited at the desk for 20 minutes for someone to finally come help me. After that I asked for coffee and she directed me to the Candlewood Cupboard where they were out of coffee. When I made it back to the desk everyone was gone and I was not waiting around for another 20 minutes for assistance so I left.

    Upon arriving to my final duty station I discovered I had left my shower bag with my 200 dollar razor inside of it. I called the hotel and the gentlemen said they had it at the front desk with the razor in it and would send it out the very next day. So I left my phone number and the address where I am staying.

    A month later still no bag. So I called them and asked if it had been returned and the lady than answered the phone said no but she sees it was sent out a day or two before I called. She said they had some log or binder that they log it in. So she said wait another week. So after a week with no bag I called them again to ask for a tracking number and they said I would have to talk to the manager. So I left my name, number, and email so they manager could get in touch with me.

    So far this has happened 2 more times. I liked Candlewood Suites and I am a loyal IHG customer so this experience was very disappointing. I will most likely never stay at Candlewood again. I feel I have been dealt with improperly and disrespectful.

    I will update again if I ever get my bag returned.

    I love the city of Slidell. This hotel was close to a lot of good eating and very convenient to shopping. I have and will continue to recommend to friends and relatives that are travelling to the New Orleans area.
