Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 Terrible Manager and Horrible Experience The manager, Larry, was rude and unwilling to assist me. I called several days before our stay there to inquire about putting rose petals and champagne in the room for the Bride and Groom. They said yes, no problem, they do it all of the time. When the delivery man got there, they told him they wouldn't do it. I called and spoke with Larry who was no help at all and was, frankly, rude. I went up to the room upon arriving to check on everything and there was a sticky note on the table that said, "Look in Fridge," which is where I found the champagne. The roses were plopped about the room and looked awful. I was very upset and Larry wasn't there to speak with me when he said he would be. Very upsetting. August 27, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by I was expecting better We stayed in the "Executive Suite" We made use of the pull out bed. However there were no sheets or pillows in the closet. When we requested additional pillows and sheets from the front desk, we were brought some sheets however because the desk lady at approximately 11pm on the 21st was clocking out we needed to go get out pillows from the front desk ourselves. They were not brought to our room. When we pulled out the pull out bed there were sheets already on the bed old and crumpled up. There was even a used wash cloth bundle in with it all. Disgusting. I was embarrassed to have my guest who was with us having to use the sleeper. The wait staff and service at the holiday inn restaurant was horrific. I don't even want to spend the time typing about the issues with that restaurant. The food was decent but the service was horrible. We could have gone to any restaurant but unfortunately we at in hotel. The wait staff I'm speaking of are those who were on duty the morning of the 22nd and 23rd. When we left the hotel, my guest thought she had forgotten her boots in the room. I called and left a message with the housekeeping to see if anything was found. This was Saturday the 23rd. Today is Wed the 27th. I have yet to receive a phone call back even if its to say we haven't found anything. That is common courtesy. That is professionalism. I have stayed in a lot of hotels. I am not being picky. I highly believe in giving credit when credit is due. It is very rare if ever I complain. This service is what I would expect in a backwoods hick town. This was Bolingbrook IL. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Old and run down As I entered the hotel, three people were drinking and yelling at each other at 4 pm. The lobby looks run down. The front desk person was very nice and welcomed me to their hotel. Check in was normal. Hallways had a smell to them and carpet needed to be replaced. The room itself was old. The carpet needed to be replaced as had stains and felt warn. The bed was sunken in the middle and was very old. The bathroom was old and has not been updated in years. I stay at other brands but felt safe making a reservation at this hotel but I was wrong. This hotel did not meet my standards for a Holiday Inn. August 12, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Lack of customer service When we checked in we were not acknowledged as Platinum members. The girl at the front desk was more interested in her personal phone call, than taking care of us. The first room we were given, the TV in the bedroom didn't work. We had to call for maintenance, which some time. Just to find out, it couldn't be fixed and we had to move rooms. Our second room was fine. But you would think that the front desk would have called us or said something to as, when we were walking out the door, to make sure everything was okay. They don't offer a free breakfast, but they could have least offered us that for our troubles. Air conditioner is loud. Hotel was loud and busy the weekend we were there. Didn't go in the pool or hot tub, because of the many kids. We booked with points and were told we would be refunded our first nights stay, but still have not seen any refund yet. Positive: We were given an upgrade to a suite before we arrived. August 11, 2014

I travel alone mostly, and I have found the restaurants in the Hol Inns have been excellent in quality and value. The breakfasts in the HI Express hotels is also excellent, and very often have an adjacent restaurant. August 8, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by our stay at Bolingbrook July 10 to 13 My family of 4 visited Chicago for a soccer tournament. We had two teams stay at the hotel. We have not once been able to stay in a location were they are able to put us all together. Parents and players stayed on all 5 floors. We arrived on Thursday and stayed till Sunday. Our room was located on the third floor second from the end. early hour, when being woke up more than once, we found out that the end rooms are suites and the one next to us was a stag party. not much sleep and the front desk could not change anything because of the hotel being full. Saturday night the same room next to us was host to a wedding party. at 1 am I called down to the front desk who then had them quiet down some what. We left feeling exhausted with 2 nights of VERY interrupted and inconvenient sleep. It would seem to us that if you know what these end rooms are for and the noise potential, then those who book in advance should not be placed there and perhaps it should be for the last minute bookings, being upfront about it. The internet was very poor and is not able to handle the large amount of guests using the system. We were informed it was because we were from Canada!! Hmmmmm.....that is a new one when it comes to wi-fi being an amenity. The breakfast was good. Service was slow but it was a large volume to look after. Room amenities were good and if they had not been so full, it probably would have been a great overall stay. July 21, 2014

I had some work to attend to and came back later that afternoon and checked in to find that the single king room I had requested on line was not available and they were sorry!. .I can stay at any hotel of my choosing, and the next time in this area I will stay elsewhere. Sorry. Also the coffee pot in the lobby was empty both mornings. July 20, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Great Hotel! We've stayed here a couple of times and REALLY enjoy it! The staff is great, the beds are COMFORTABLE, and the ambiance is so warm. The rooms are always cozy, clean, and soft. The only thing that would be the BEST is having a free breakfast. Normally, we like to stay somewhere that at least provides a bagel when we are rushing out the door to a meeting. But in any case, there is a Starbucks down the street, and a Family Restaurant if you want to have a full breakfast by some great Chicago folks. Thanks for all the care you give us!! July 19, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Better options nearby All the lightbulbs in the bathroom had burned out other than the heat lamp. When I told the desk person on the way out, she argued with me that I must not have found the right switch. I found two that did nothing, pretty sure I understand how they were supposed to do though. Wallpaper was falling off the walls under the sink and near the tub. Overall feel of the place is dingy and old. The air conditioner is loud and the thermostat is on it instead of across the room like in many other hotels so turns itself on and off constantly through the night. Worst, the internet is terribly slow. Couldn't get my work done without tethering my phone and use that for data instead. Breakfast is ok, though expensive. Night manager told another customer that "This isn't a Holiday Inn Express" as explanation. Last time I was here I reserved a king and got a room with a smaller bed. His answer was basically that I was stuck with it, too bad. It's been a few months, so I forgot and came back this time. I was in town to visit a customer who is about three blocks away so the location is good, but even though I'm a Gold Rewards member with Holiday Inn, next time I'm going to stay at one of the other hotels right next door to this one. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Decent location but odd staff and noisy I checked in late and the receptionist almost seemed irked to see me when i arrived. There was explanation of amenities until I asked. Additionally, the room could have been much cleaner. My biggest regret about this location was the fact that they didn't seem to care about the guests on the first floor much since they felt it was okay to do landscaping right outside the window at 8am. (Needless to say that I wasn't able to sleep past 8 even though I had gotten in late after a long night at a wedding reception) July 13, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by would stay else where I used my reward points and was still charged $42 in "accomidation" fees and then taxes on top of that!!!! Never had I before been charged to redeem reward points, what a joke! Immediately after check in room card did not work. Elevator incredibly slow. The air conditioner did not work so got no sleep due to the room being too hot. Got room service. The food was ok but not really worth what it cost. July 8, 2014

I enjoyed the updates to the rooms, bathrooms are more functional for travelers. bar staff and serves for the dining room were very attentive. Food was ok.. pork chops were excellent.. I enjoyed the quietness of the pool as there were not many kids as it was a week day. Overall enjoyed the week !! June 30, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by average stay at an average hotel Check-in took about 15 minutes, the room key needed re-validating several times during my 6-day stay (on the last night of my stay, when I got locked out of my room, and asked at the front desk for my key to be re-validated, the night manager rather rudely told me that I did not know how to use the room key properly, that was why I wasn't able to open the room door, and only after 15 minutes of "discussion" did he grudgingly go upstairs with me and my key to try to open the door himself...he wasn't able to open the door either). No room upgrade for my Platinum status, no other perks offered other than a choice between the welcome bonus package (a small bottle of water) or 500 points. I chose 500 points, and the 500 points did not get posted in my account until two days after check-out (after repeated enquiries at the front desk). No offer of free breakfast. Complimentary coffee is offered in the lobby for a few hours each morning. Room and hotel decor is dated, with fraying wallpaper and chipped/scratched bath-tub. All in all, a very average stay at a very average hotel. June 16, 2014
