Stayed here in the past under different owners. Changes have been made which bring it to the standards of the HIV group. We stay regularly in Calais and will not hesitate to use this hotel again.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by MartinSi69 Nice stay as always in this hotel
We have stayed in this hotel several times now on the way to Great Britain. The location of the hotel is very nice because it takes only 20 minutes to the ferry terminal.
The staff at the reception and in the bar is very friendly.
The beds are comfortable and the room is nice and clean.

We have used this hotel several times when popping over from England to shop at the hypermarkets. This stay was particularly good - the evening meal was truly superb.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Jimbo16 Disappointing Stay
We were somewhat disappointed by our stay at the Coquelles Holiday Inn recently. Being a business traveller that regularly stays in Coquelles before crossing to the UK, I have stayed in most of the hotels here. I had enjoyed a stay here in 2007, and as the other hotel I usually stay in was priced the same at short notice I thought I'd stay here again for a change. The public areas of the hotel are very tired with dirty carpets, scuffed walls, ancient lifts...etc. The bedroom whilst comfy had an aged bathroom which didn't really reflect 3* quality. Most disappointing, however, was that after a 12 hour journey we arrived at the hotel hungry and thirsty. We looked at the restaurant menu, and there was nothing to tempt us. We then had a look at the bar menu: 9 Euros for a Croque Monsieur, 10 Euros for a Hamburger, and 7 Euros for a pint of lager (prices from memory#! I realise that hotels make a large part of their revenue from the meals but at these extortionate prices we ate crisps and cakes out of the car, and drank our own soft drinks... We had the breakfast included option with the room, so went down early in the morning. The croissants were less fresh than on a package trip to Ibiza recently #!!!# and the cooked option was inedible and barely warm #gristle sausages, hard scrambled egg...etc). I am a member of IHG rewards, and no mention of this was made on checkin or checkout and I certainly didn't receive any benefits. Lastly, the guy who checked us out had a serious personality issue. In short, I wouldn't stay here again and I cannot recommend it over any of the hotels at Cité d'Europe despite the grounds and offer of a pool...

The hotel is set in parkland out of town but coveniently close to the Dunkirk Calais Boulogne autoroute with easy access. The night was quiet and comfortable. My wife did not feel my movements on the bed and commented that the mattress was better than our own at home. Unfortunately we did not have the time to try all of the facilities. Might stay for two nights next time.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Funny1 Good hotel very close to the ferry terminal yet out in the countryside
We selected this hotel as it is a 10 minute drive to the ferry terminal but outside the town with good and plenty of safe parking places.
The hotel is in large grounds and well kept. The rooms are not enormous but good for a short stay, comfortable, clean and well equipped.
We were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of food in the evening. A good selection of dishes, well cooked with friendly service.
Breakfast, as is usual in France, was expensive and not really worth the price. Additionally, various items were not replenished during our stay, but this was perhaps a one off!
All in all, a very good address for travellers wanting to stop before or after travelling on the ferries between Dover and Calais. We would certainly stay there again.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by pocket Great contrast to the previous night in Strasbourg
We were accommodated to eat a restaurant meal at the bar so we could stay with our dog. The room had air conditioning. Breakfast service was good and the hot food was hot. All these things were lacking in our previous nights stay so were very welcome.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Stevo64 Non existant bar staff
Checkin was smooth and fast although no upgrade or recognition of IHG rewards member. Waited at bar for 15 minutes without being served even after two barstaff had said good evening and continued to ignore me and (eventually) around 10 other guests queueing.
Room was comfortable and clean but tea making tray had one dirty cup and an opened half packet of sugar.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Alexadani Beautiful setting
I always travel with my two little dogs and Holiday Inn in general is great for this. This was a very nice room, spacious and clean as are most of the Holiday Inns. But the huge selling point here is the beautiful grounds surrounding the hotel - my dogs must have had at least 7 walks in our one-night stay! Just lovely and would definitely book here again.

My husband and myself stayed overnight (Sunday) as a break on a driving trip from England to the South of Germany. The ferry over had been delayed and it was midnight when we finally arrived, but the reception staff we very pleasant and helpful even at this late hour.Checking in was swift and I was asked if I wanted internet access and then given the appropriate information to allow this. Breakfast was between 06:30 and 09:30. We found a really good range of foods (cereal, various breads, english as well as continental breakfasts and yogurts) and we were asked on arrival at the breakfast room if we wanted tea or coffee. There was also fruit juices and bottled water that you could help yourself to.
The only thing that caused us any concern was finding the hotel with TomTom as there is not a property number only the name of the road it is on and Avenue Charles De Gaulle is rather a long road. It would help (for this reason only) if a number could be supplied with the address.
We stayed at the same hotel a week later on our trip home and will most certainly be using again on any subsequent trips we make to visit our relatives in Germany.

Very comfortable rooms. Lovely indoor pool.
My first choice in the area. Consistently good.

Good quiet location with plenty of parking. We were given a ground floor room suitable for someone with reduced mobility, as requested, with a wet room shower.
Excellent evening meal and buffet breakfast.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Pinarello Comfortable overnight
We stayed on the way out on a long road trip round france and on the way back via Eurotunnel both ways. The hotel was ideally situated just over the motorway from the tunnel. We only had time to check in and have a meal so being out of Calais centre didn't worry us. All the staff were helpful and friendly, the rooms comfortable as we come to expect from the brand. It was a welcome surprise to find tea making facilities in room. Our restaurant meals were both good, breakfast fairly standard for France but not to be faulted. Check in for Rewards Club Members was easy - no fumbling for passports or internet print outs.

Great location, handy and peaceful. Rooms reasonably spacious and comfortable, good parking and nice grounds. Only gripe two of our last visits we have had A/C problems - having A/C affects our choice of hotels and these really cool the room, unfortunately they don't seem well maintained as one dripped water and now this visit one periodically hummed very loudly through the night which woke us up every 20 minutes. Reception noted for maintenance but didn't offer any compensation. We will use again as it has so much to offer but recurring A/C problems (poor maintenance?) is now a concern.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by MikeJH52 Comfortable hotel with excellent facilities
We come to France regularly, to Brittany, Burgundy or the Alps, and always use this hotel as a stopover. The staff are great and the hotel is really convenient. We stay six to eight nights a year here and have never been disappointed. Two minor irritations - I never seem to get the Priority points for my meals here, no matter how often I show the card, and the dinner menu stays the same for long periods of time. It is convenient to eat in the hotel and the meals are excellent - you just like some variety in you choice if you are there several times over a short period.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by pensioner Clean room and good location
I have stayed at the hotel many times in the past and have always found it clean and the staff helpful. It is unfortunate that the bar snacks have become very limited and bland, I suspect the hotel is trying to force guests to eat in the restaurant. I was over charged at the check out but the fault was rectified very quickly.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Peenut Great family stay
We had a family suite which was really roomy and well laid out. Be warned though we couldn't close the curtains between bed areas as they were just decorative. Didin't matter to us as our child is young, but may be an issue with older family members. The bathroom was great and a separte toilet. The staff were very helpful and the hotel was light and airy. The pool was ok but is closed for classes sometimes, so check before you make any proimses to the kids about swimming. The bar was very expensive and I have had better breakfasts at the Holiday Inn Le Touquet. That said it was ok and filled us up prior to taveling.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Hammy33 Refreshed after a long drive
we chose the Holiday Inn because my uncle had stayed there and recommended it as a stopping point returning to England following our holiday in France.
The hotel is very good, very clean with very friendly staff with nothing too much trouble and got sorted immediately.
The room we chose was a family room which was a little pricey but was very comfortable and very clean with lots of little extras.
The free use of the gym and pool with sauna and steam room was great and was used twice a day by the whole family.
The manager of the sports complex was very friendly and very helpful and it was a pleasure meeting him for his very friendly attitude and his sense of humour.
The hotel is situated within minutes of all the shops you need to do all types of shopping from food to clothes and beer and wine with City Europe next door.
The stay was well needed before we continued back to England and travelling home to Lancashire
I would thoroughly recommend a stay at the holiday Inn Coquelles

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by ett123 Great room but...
We have stayed here many times and enjoyed our stay, however we feel that this time was not as good as others. During our stay there was a large conference going on and loud music until 1am, also while we were having dinner a large coach party came in, we felt as if we were an inconvenience, we had to ask for water twice and then for glasses for the water 3 times! While the waiter was taking our order he kept looking over at the coach party and we had to repeat our order. We appreciate that large bookings make money but it should not be to the detriment of other clients
The food was excellent but PLEASE could there be more than one vegetarian option! we have been requesting this for years but still there is only one choice - not good if you are staying for more than one night!!

We stayed here on our way back from a holiday in the South of France. The hotel is pleasant in a fairly pretty setting and the staff are polite, friendly and helpful. We were made to feel welcome.
Our room was nicely furnished and our beds comfortable. We were also able to open the window which is a bonus, as you can't always do that and there were plenty of tea bags etc available for hot beverages.
Although having a swim when we arrived was nice, the pool was a little bit crowded; possibly because it was a Sunday and had been closed all afternoon so everyone piled in at 5. The lockers didn't appear to work and the toilet in the ladies' changing room was blocked which is never very inspiring and not very helpful for other guests with small children.
The hotel had made a concerted attempt at providing a good breakfast and catering for an English clientele with their cooked items. However, most of these were cold, which was a shame. Also, we were not able to help ourselves to hot beverages; instead the staff poured out a cup of coffee for us when we arrived which was cold by the time we'd finished drinking our fruit juice and also so strong that it was undrinkable.
We didn't eat in the restaurant at night as we preferred to go into Calais for a cheaper option.
I would recommend the hotel if you are looking for a stop-over when using the Channel Tunnel as it is literally around the corner and the hotel is comfortable and friendly.
