Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great place to stay in Calgary – 15 plus min from airport. Fresh paint and new carpet are always welcome. Stayed on fourth floor with a mountain view albeit a small window but, still a much better view than most hotels (maybe a little better view on the fifth floor). Even with what looked like a fully booked hotel the elevator was quick and there was always someone around to answer questions. Check in was a little slow but, I did request a room change so understandable. It took 15 min for the shuttle to drive to the airport at 5:00 AM with no traffic so you better plan 30 mins during peak times. The steak sandwich was fantastic done to perfection and very tasty - more like a steak with a slice of bread on the side. Well worth the price! The bar has plenty of everything; Seats, TV’s, Staff, Food and a good selection of beer, wine and top shelf liquor. Will stay here again. April 28, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by One of the worst Beautiful lobby and hallways hide the terrible rooms, lack of amenities as dated run down guest rooms. As a priority platinum member I have stayed in many IHG properties across Canada and the US and this was awful. Dirty, dark, noisy room. No acknowledgement of my priority club status, sketchy internet, booked king room given a two double bed room. I would highly recommend AGAINST this property as it is completely substandard in terms of quality. April 13, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by room looks very nice on first glance, but...... We were put in a newly renovated room, which on first glance looked nice. However, it became clear to us quite quickly that the renovations were made with cheap material (for example, the brand new closet door was already broken and as a result made a lot of noise when opening and closing) and the actual hotel room door DID NOT lock from the inside. We ordered room service and the girl who answered the phone sounded like she had no idea about how room service worked and what was on the menu. In addition, we could hear the pipes running from other rooms for most of the night (although, we couldn't figure that out because the hotel seemed almost empty). On a positive note, the reception staff were very friendly and the bed was comfortable. Room on the 5th floor. April 3, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by state of rooms This was the second time, same hotel, I had to have the business chair replaced because it was broken. I also had to request a change of light bulbs as they were burned out. The room itself was ok. I washed off a stain from the wall that was a soda drink. I had to program the TV / remote so that they were in sync with one another and the features would work. At the end of my stay, the manager pointed out that I should stay on the first floor which was recently renovated. March 31, 2014

They did a great job upgrading the common areas during the last year, but now they need to upgrade the kitchen. I stayed back to back nights at this Hotel and at the Holiday Inn in Grand Prairie AB, the food at the Grand Prairie Hotel was some of the best I've had and the food at the Calgary Airport Holiday Inn is some of the worst... Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 Lopsided Hard Upgraded King Bed I can't believe that they call this a Holiday Inn..the bed was literally lopsided and hard; like a very old mattress. I complained to the front desk they said they were full and thought I would be happy with the upgrade. Room service took an hour and the hotel is under construction. March 22, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Left Belongings go to the abyss never to return I Often stay at this Hotel chain on business travel and often at this location when I am travelling through Calgary, and have checked off excellent for most every item. However as travellers sometimes do I left a pile of receipts and important business notes in the desk drawer when I checked out 03/14/14. That afternoon realizing my mistake I called talking to the front desk let them know my issue, was told housekeeping was gone for the day but they would call me the next day. Never received a call. I phoned back today 03/20/14, and was dealt with promptly and in a professional manner. However everyone down to the housekeeper ensures me that there were no papers found?? There are many nice hotels to stay both for business and leisure, this hotel chain and definitely this location are off my list to stay and refer due to their neglect of their own policies relating to travellers belongings. The only thing that bugged me was that there were a lot of noise due to renovations which I believe has been going on for a while. If you like the quiet during daytime, I suggest looking somewhere else. Otherwise, this is a fine hotel. Once the renovations are done, I would imagine that it'll look pretty nice and I'll probably come back then. March 16, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Service Inappropriate There was no indication on HI website the property was under-going a renovation; it was difficult to relax. Housekeeping was good though I do not understand why they throw away the used bar soaps every day during my stay. The finished rooms were beautiful and a large size. Restaurant service was good, though the lounge service was poor. Also the hotel phone in the temporary eating areas were disturbing. The staff spoke a foreign language that I understand. Quite the inappropriate behaviour as they talk about the guests/customers. Upon check-out it was reported. However, all they say is sorry as it's a popular known issue here. February 21, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Renovation nightmare Checked in for 3 nights. we landed on the floor with ongoing renos, dusty and noisy -night one night two, the front desk advised they were told to sell the rooms on the reno floor, they reluctantly moved us the new room was quite nice, however the toilet barely worked, called the front desk no one came, we finally fixed it ourselves night 3 same toilet issue no help came, called again still waiting in the end they gave us one night free, I expected the whole stay to be comped considering, even with the reno complete I would not recommend February 14, 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor service and rude staff The room at the hotel was fine once we finally got into it. I called the airport shuttle service and was advised that it would be a 25 minute wait. When I called again after standing in the cold for 40 minutes I was advised it would be a 10 minute wait and they weren't sure what had happened. After a further 25 minutes standing in the cold and watching all the other hotel shuttles come and go at least three times our shuttle finally showed up with no apology. When we arrived at the hotel it appeared to be under construction and we had rude service at the front desk. He actually asked us why we had waited over an hour for their shuttle as if we should know why we were standing in the cold at 11 pm for over an hour waiting on them. There was no apology for whatever had happened and in compensation for the "mix up" we were given a complimentary drink at the bar for one person (which was already closed) which was further insulting to two people. Overall this hotel was extremely disappointing and rude, nobody wants to deal with bad service after an entire day of flying, getting in late and having cold weather. I would not recommend this hotel if you need a place to stay close to the airport, you will be lucky if you ever make it to the hotel if you depend on them! February 6, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Renos, small rooms Stayed here recently and see they have done some nice renos in the front desk area although there was still a lot going on around the lounge and restaurant. Good location friendly helpful staff. Decent exercise room. Extremely small rooms though, I booked a king superior thinking there might be some room to move about, it is simply a standard room with a king bed making it very cramped. The bathroom is unbelievably small and hard to even turn around in. No way 2 people could stay in this room without bumping into each other all the time. Not sure I would stay again even though the rest of the hotel is nice. January 25, 2014

We wanted to do some shopping, so its location near Sunridge Mall was perfect for us (Just a $11 taxi ride.) And the breakfast buffet was also nice. But, it is undergoing a number of renos at the current time which makes it a little less than comfortable. Hallways are boarded up and hallways and rooms are dimly lit. ...Will be nice when it is all done! January 9, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful Jacuzzi Suite We stayed in one of your Jacuzzi Suites over New Years, and were very impressed with the room and the staff. The room was newly renovated and very clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the staff was incredibly helpful. The pet policy you have in place is wonderful, it was a real blessing to be able to have our two little dogs in the upgraded room with us. I would recommend putting wine and other drink glasses in the room seeing as there's such a beautiful wet bar. In saying that, the service staff at the restaurant were happy to give us some. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Some Good Renovations; Other areas not so much. Needs to be rebranded. I stayed here on December 14 for one night. I booked online with IHG and as a Platinum Elite member I got an upgrade to a King Executive room. When I checked it, it was around midnight. Right away the thing I noticed was that the person checking me in had no name tag. I hate it when employees are not proud to display their name. Nametagless employees never seem to offer a welcomed experience to guests and this was the case also. I was offered a plastic bag of a bottle water, a bag of chips, and a granola bar. There was also a coupon for a free drink in the bar but I was tired and went straight to my room instead. Too bad you cannot exchange the free drink offer for something that you value instead of what the hotel values. The hotel has been recently renovated on the exterior and in the interior of the hotel. It is very nicely done. The room itself seemed to be interesting in the sense that it was a mix of the old and new. Never had I seen so much wood clash with so much steel; it was like a project was shelved halfway through so the old wood interior design was kept with a new modern steel type of look (case in point the bathroom had a old wooden door but new steel frames for the mirror. Either both should be modern or both old, but not a clash!). The bathroom sliding doors for the shower were not working correctly and you had to have the opposite doors used to get in and out, making the whole experience backwards. Their is also a small area for a sink/microwave/coffeemaker/etc. but this has a top cabinet which is very easy to bang your head on as you 'round the corner to the bed. The mattress was very comfortable and I had a good sleep. The chairs were of an older generation but the room was spacious. On the way out the housekeeper Amelia was very friendly and interested in my stay as we rode the elevator back down to the lobby. It seemed like she enjoyed her job and it is always great when employees, even housekeepers, interact with the guests. Overall the hotel still has some work cut out for it. I am not sure that I would be back... it would depend on the price compared to other IHG branded hotels in the area. The airport is nowhere near the hotel. They should consider renaming the hotel as a result. 30 years ago it was close, but with Barlow Trail now closed, they really need to look at rebranding themselves as an airport hotel. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Place for Business Travel The staff is helpfuly and friendly. The renovated rooms on the top 2 floors are great, they have nice new bathrooms. The rooms on the middle floors are fine, the bathrooms are outdated but the beds are comfy and the rooms are always kept nice and clean. The breakfasy buffet leaves something to be desired but the lunch and dinner food is fantastic. I highly recommend the room services as the service is fast and the food is just as good as the restaurant. Get the steaks or the grilled chicken breast with a cheese cake for dessert and you wont be disappointed. As for the amenities, the pool is nice, the gym is basic but there is a goodlife nearby. Great place to stay if you are travelling for to Calgary for work. December 4, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by I will be back This hotel was in a great location for my business travel. The room rate was reasonable and the room was clean and comfortable. The only downside was the walls and doors are a bit thin so you will hear other guests and be heard. If you are lucky enough to get a high room on the west side you will get a great view on downtown Calgary and the Rocky mountains in the background. December 2, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Thank You I was in Calgary on business and I arrived on October 21st, late at night. My luggage was lost by the airliner so I had nothing! I went to the front desk to explain my situation and they immediately began to accommodate me with toiletries that would get my through. They were also attentive to my lost luggage letting me know that it had not arrived. As much as I was at the front desk, the ladies were always very friendly and accommodating. They made me feel better by the warmth of their smiles. When my luggage did arrive, rather than disturb me early in the morning, they called about six to let me know that my luggage had arrived. The wait staff was the best I had encountered at a Holiday Inn and I travel a lot. Thanks for making this trip the best it could be. October 28, 2013
