Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Holiday on the River We spent a pleasant night in a large and comfortable room overlooking the river. This hotel features a friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere. I wish the location had been closer to our leisure destination but we managed to get everywhere we needed to be and had a great time. July 31, 2015

Went on line and reserved 2 rooms---1 for my husband and I and the other for our kids--so I requested adjoining rooms with 1 having a king size bed and the other having 2 double beds. We tried to check in early--rooms were not ready, which was fine as we left our luggage at the hotel with the porter and went to see the city of Chicago. Check in is supposedly at 3 pm and we came back to the hotel at 4 pm and rooms were still not ready--also was told that we were unable to get adjoining rooms. They told us it would be another 30 mintues and gave us free drink vouchers to their bar. 30 minutes later they tell us that 1 room is available, but the other is not......and the other would be ready shortly. By 5:30 pm we still had only 1 room so I went down to the front desk to complain and was told that they had a room that they could put us in.....but was on a different floor.........hmmmmm I reserved 2 rooms, to be side by side due to having children with us and they are wanting us to be put on 2 separate floors???? So, I asked to talk to a manager, who informed me that the individuals prior to us had checked out late and that they had tried to offer us a room on a different floor. I asked if she had children and if she would want to be put on a different floor from her children.....of course she went back to her office and came out with a room that was ready on the same floor-----on the opposite side of the hotel, which by that time was going to have to work due to we were all tired from getting up at 4 am that morning. The concierge did give us free breakfast buffet vouchers, which was very nice. We got the room, which was very nice on the 23rd floor with a great view.....until the middle of the night when the AC would not work---kept shutting off--so 3 am I had to go back down to the front desk and explain the situation and they gave us another room to move to and said that they would have the maintenance men look at the AC. When we got up the next morning we went back down to see if the ac had been fixed so that we could go back to the room (we had just moved our bodies to sleep--did not want to pack everything up at 3 am) and was told that they had not had a chance to look at it yet. We got around for the day and then received a phone call from the front desk that there was nothing wrong with the ac in our room.......explain that to my husband that woke up 3 times sweating and having to go try to get the ac to kick back on.... Not sure we will stay here again.....we reserved 2 rooms for 2 nights (the 1 room was complaints).....way too many issues when there are so many Chicago hotels to pick from...... July 31, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Location and Gorgeous Skyline Views The concierge was knowledgeable and very helpful. Enjoyed one of the best lemondrop martinis EVER! The location made it very walkable to the theater district, Navy Pier and Water Tower. Definitely will stay here again. July 29, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Large comfortable rooms with great artwork We spent a night with a 3-ry-old which required a room with a great view and the staff was more than accommodating. Although the distances to main tourist attractions were a bit beyond the child's ability to walk we managed to get everywhere and only needed a couple of taxis. The photography in the rooms is a highlight and the beds and pillows were very comfortable - or maybe we were just exhausted. They hotel also has a cocktail lounge with a great view that is open for lunch and evenings. The downside is that the place looks a little beaten up and the rooms could use a freshening. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Overnight for Rock 'n' Roll Chicago Half Marathon Stayed for one night to run Rock 'n' Roll Chicago Half Marathon. It was 1.5 miles from Grant Park, where start and finish line located. This distance was good for warm-up before 13.1 miles course and walk back. Self parking was 200 feet away but at $35 daily rate is quite expensive. Nice view from room and hotel has great amenities. July 27, 2015
