Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointing. We stayed here for a birthday trip. View is great, but the rest was not impressive. The rooms need updating and cleaning. There were holes in the curtains, wallpaper peeling in the bathroom, and poorly cleaned. There were several random extension cords strewn along the walls. The headboard had some type of integrated booklight... But as you pull it down you realize it is not attached with exposed wiring. Most of the staff we encountered were either unfriendly or flat out rude. 2 staff members we ended up riding the elevator with were actually great and very friendly) Also, the on site restaurant is incredibly overpriced. It was $21.95 for their breakfast that was being served in a restaurant with stains on the seats, dirty floors, and again, unfriendly staff. As we checked out, no one even cared to ask how our stay was. We will not return to this hotel for future stays. Disappointing. If you have come to expect a level that many of the other Holiday Inns have transformed to over the past few years you will not be seeing the same here. June 27, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by I will never stay here again! I had a whole host of issues related to my reservation and four other rooms I booked. Each person I talked to provided a different answer, and no one was overly eager to help. Even after talking to several different people about the reservations, the final charges were still wrong, and one of the individuals I had a reservation for was told there was no reservation for him when he checked in. The quality of the food both in the restaurant and with room service was poor for the price and the menu selection is poor. The quality of room cleaning was poor, at one point I had dirty towels left in my room that were placed as new towels to replace the ones that I had previously used. June 24, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Chicago-Mart Plaza location exceeded expectations The rooms were modern and attractive. Those in my party with river view rooms had great views. Service was excellent. I would stay there again. While the location is not in the tourist center, it is close and for business downtown, especially for the offices on Wacker Dr, it's a perfect location. June 22, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This is great hotel My wife and I stayed at this hotel over Father's Day 2016. We went up to Chicago for a Cubs game and left after a one night stay. The hotel is in a great location, and the staff knows how to treat Spire Elite Members right. All Elite members have a special line at the front desk for help (which I love), and every staff member we spoke to at the desk, on the phone, on in the halls were courteous, kind, and welcoming. We got a room with a king bed, mini fridge, and river view, and it was very nice. Large room, lots of windows, nice size TV and fridge, with a comfy bed and lots of room to relax. MAJOR PLUS. The shower is ok, but the water pressure is not as strong as I would like, and the shower doesn't drain well. This is not as a result of a clog, it is the design on the shower. It is not a good as it could be, but it is a total first world problem. My only true "issue" is the marketplace. It closes, and it closes way too early. When we got back from Wrigley, we were thirsty and peckish. Most Holiday Inn properties have a 24/7 kiosk for drinks and snacks that you can select and have the front desk bill your room. Not the case here. It is a separate store that is locked and gated so early the Cubs game was in the bottom of the 7th around the time they shut the doors. We would really have liked the option to buy some water and some snacks, and I think the hotel should seriously examine their current model, but other than that, we love this hotel, and we will likely make this hotel our primary choice for all future stays in the Windy City. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Copa America stay Was told there were NO adjoining rooms for my family, but 15 minutes later, several became available as the staff had not cleaned the rooms and we did not check in until after 5 PM! Had to change rooms three different occassions as the staff kept giving us the wrong keys to the wrong rooms. Overall, great hotel, but amazing that some staff members did not know the difference between "adjoining and adjecent" rooms. June 21, 2016
