Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Small Room Size for Two Double Beds We reserved two rooms, a king and a double: There was significant room size difference with the king room in comparison to the 2 double beds. Same price-point and smaller space. :( Difficult to move around especially with a child in a wheelchair. No complementary grab-and-go breakfast :( simple bagels, fruit, and/or yogurt, etc. Other than looking at a crane outside the window...the view was very nice. July 29, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Week long business stay The rooms have been remodeled so that was nice. The bed was very good. Heat and air very good. There was no refrigerator or microwave. For a week long stay these are essential for a business traveler and I was required to use this facility per my employer so having no refrigerator was not to my liking. I used a stairwell in the building often. It got no cleaning attention and the remains of a smoker were in the stairwell all week. I know they can't stop the smoker but they can clean the stairwell. The exercise facility was overly warm and did have plenty of machines and exercise equipment. There were no towels despite my calling and requesting them. Its an OK place to stay for business. For vacation its better than OK a good value. For business travel not so much. July 28, 2014

The staff are really helpful, Location is excellent, The view was fantastic. but the room inside was clean but outside the windows they had a lot of spiders, I counted them. And at least it had two dozen of them, and I think that I got bitten by a spider on my face, someone may want to try to clean them outside of the windows even on the 23th floor. July 24, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Big, quite room with great view of river For the price, this hotel worked out great for us. The rooms were big, quite and clean. I have nothing but good things to say about my stay. I did not interact with the staff much except at check in but they were certainly friendly enough. Other than the location being a little farther away from Michigan Avenue than I would have liked, I thought the hotel was great. Being next to the Merchandise Mart, the weekends are pretty much dead so it is nice and quite around the hotel which is nice after spending the whole day around crowds of people. Anyway, I would have no problems recommending this hotel to anyone and would stay there again on my next visit to the City. July 23, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Hotel We loved this hotel for our first visit to Chicago. The hotel and the rooms were clean and the staff were all friendly and very helpful. There was a lot of walking involved as the hotel isn't very centrally located but we were prepared for that and enjoyed that part as well. We found that taking cabs from the hotel to the locations we wanted to go really wasn't that expensive compared to the mass transit options - we were first timers so it was definitely easier to hail a cab when our feet were tired. My 6 year old loved the view from our room and the swimming pool. We definitely would stay at this hotel for our next visit. July 22, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Always exceptional This hotel is exceptional from the minute you drive up with the valet staff awaiting your arrival to the friendly front desk agents. I was greeted with my IHG Rewards status and provided with a wonderful room overlooking the river. The view in the evening was breathtaking to say the least. Our room was very comfortable for a family of 4. Our kids enjoyed the indoor pool and commented on how warm the pool was as well-- The bathroom was spacious in size and loved the mirror over the sink with its anti fogging feature and the bath lighting was perfect as well. Towels are plush and bedding had crisp linens--loved the pillows too. Television channels were of a great variety. Overall---I would say, exceptional experience. Hotel was full but heard no noise at all in our guest room. We will be back!!! July 16, 2014

The staff delivers exceptional service from the time you walk in the door until the time you leave. I had never been to Chicago and was pleasantly surprised that we were able to walk to many of the city's major attractions without any problems. I would definitely recommend this hotel . Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Decent hotel but overpriced for the quality and service I had a spur-of-the-moment trip to Chicago arise and booked at this hotel since I have stayed here before and had a decent experience at that time. My boyfriend and I decided to make the trip a celebration of recent good events in our life and booked a slightly nicer room than we normally do, at higher cost. Overall, while there was nothing majorly wrong with our stay, I found myself disappointed in the hotel, the staff, and service on this visit. I do not feel we were given the type of room we booked and the front desk staff were frankly just straight up rude (especially since I was trying to be honest and tell them I thought I was under-billed... I don't appreciate being treated like an idiot because I don't understand the company's pricing structure and the internal language). The only person who showed a genuine interest in me and my experience was the concierge, Russell. He is fabulous and the only reason I have any faith in going back to this hotel in the future. I loved the view of the city from my room window; the room was quieter than I expected, but I guess that was due in part to all floors of the hotel being well above the street level. The pillows and bed were so very comfortable! The staff, from the ground level to the 23rd floor, were all amazing, helpful, and cheerful each day. And the food!! I absolutely loved dining at Italasia, and the lobster mac and cheese was beyond incredible at the bar! The pool was like a dream come true! The hotel was also a great place for the convention I attended for the three days I spent there; I begged the conference organization to have future conferences specifically at your hotel location in the future! As a Priority Member, I can honestly say this is by far the best H.I. I have ever stayed in, and I have every intention to make this where I stay whenever I am in Chicago from now on. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great town....Hotel? Meh. Chicago is awesome and this location was just fine. However, it rained some over the weekend and when it did, the TV signal kept going out. One of those 'features' of satellite dishes. That was very annoying. Since it rained Saturday morning, we decided to stay in for breakfast and had the 21.95 buffet. It was very average at best. WAY over priced. At check-in, on Friday night at about 7pm, there was a line of 6 guests and only 1 clerk to check us in. After about 10 minutes, a second clerk showed up. The valet guys were great. During this visit I was delighted to have a more updated room - newer furniture and updated bathroom. I was also delighted by the dinner menu available at the bar - what a treat after a long flight and late check-in. It was so much more pleasant than just ordering room service. Although the wine was a bit stale. The noise transfer from neighboring rooms was pretty high, but not after midnight, so I slept fine. The curtains don't close completely, there is always a crack of light at the edges in the mornings. During high peak times, the price really increases. July 14, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Did not meet expectations On the surface this hotel appears visual awesome. The lobby, restaurants, and services are very asthetically appealing. The rooms are also very nice looking with modern design and ammenities. The staff is very accomadatiing and personal as well, which I appreciated. My biggest issues with this property is that there were no refridgerators in the rooms. After a long day of working would be nice to be able to come back to the room for a "cold" water or soda. Also the room I was in was close to the mechanics for the elevator which ran all day and night which made it extremely difficult to sleep, rest, and relax which was extremely irritating during my stay. We even saw fireworks in the distance from navy Pier. The staff was friendly and always tried to help with directions and even a few recommendations. We had a great stay and only wished that we had planned to stay longer. One night was not enough! July 8, 2014
