Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Exceptional service I selected this hotel because it was close to the meeting space we were using. I have to say I would select it again based on the service we received. Everyone we encountered was pleasant and helpful. Even after our stay, when I called to get a second copy of my bill, the guest services person was polite and called back to verify that I had received the fax. The hotel itself is very nice, quiet and in a great location if you are visiting the downtown Chicago attractions. My family walked many places very easily. July 16, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Sorry but... I have used many hotels over the years and as a result selected IHG hotels as my preferred brand. I'm sorry to say that this is the worst Holiday Inn I have stayed at. Despite requests for attention to room equipment, no assistance provided. The restaurant is only a fast food diner with average food during the day. Breakfast was good though. Being an Elite member meant nothing to the reception staff. I do not recommend it and would not use again. After three nights, I moved to a different hotel. July 14, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by poor service Reception clerk disorganized and, while recognizing me as a Platinum member, couldn't realize my credit card number was not my member number, did not extend any courtesies to my wife and I, ignored a question my wife asked about signage, did not offer an upgraded room or any other member amenities (I'm new to program & wasn't fully aware of process until my next stay at another hotel where reception did all of the above and more) and generally appeared inept. Room was OK but noisy from local car traffic. Food was poor but only had breakfast. Other staff following reception were courteous and friendly. July 8, 2014

For $210 a night, I would have actually expected something at least at a Super 8 quality. The staff is very nice, however. They got us a shower curtain pretty quickly on the second day. July 6, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointment Belong to IHG club and find that each Holiday Inn seems to have different amenities, such a continental breakfast which is important when in a city that is unfamiliar. Rooms are expensive in large cities and feel there should be something more. Not a bad stay, or place, just expensive, beyond my budget but close to train station. July 6, 2014

Nice Restuarant on site, had excellent roast beef dinner and a complimentary glass of wine (Ryan was our server and very friendly), Tommie was at front desk when we checked in, also very helpful and friendly. We stayed three nights and everyone was friendly and helpful, no problems, and CLEAN. We hope to stay again soon! June 24, 2014

Great location and the valet parking option was helpful in coming and going from hotel. The food at the full service restaurant was delicious and "kids eat free" saved us tons of money! June 19, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not comfortable and loud I travel frequently for work and this is the chain that I rely on, I was disappointed at my last stay with them. The hotel restaurant was terrible! The walls were thin and the hotel guests were loud until 4am, I had to be to work at 6am, and the staff did little to control the noise. The rooms were small and not comfortable. The next time I'm in Chicago I will NOT be staying here. June 9, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable bed and great staff. The guest room was small but adequate and clean. Wireless internet worked perfectly and staff was extremely helpful. Had dinner at Sunny's the first night and enjoyed a spinach salad with strawberries, grapes, mandarin oranges, pecans and grilled salmon. The food was excellent and the service was good. The only negative was the street noise and the noise from the air conditioner. Checkout was easy and the valet staff were wonderful! June 9, 2014

The staff in the restaurant area were very pleasant and polite. I was there for a conference. The room that the conference was held in had very poor quality chairs to sit on for 8hrs and the room was not well tempature controlled. May 31, 2014

This hotel is close to transportation but also within walking distance to plenty of attractions and restaurants. The immediate area around the hotel is not really eye catching but we found the rooms to be clean and comfortable. We wish the bathrooms were much bigger. This was the only downside. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Average facility but above average staff We were happy with the location, for what we wanted to do in Chicago. We found this facility to be much in need to an update. Furniture was in poor repair (drawer kept falling out on us) and the restaurant, Sunny's, was adequate at best. With no other restaurants in the immediate area, we were a captive audience. The staff couldn't have been nicer and tried to meet our needs as best they could, including an early check-in for weary travelers.. Thanks again to the staff and management! May 20, 2014

We didn't need a fancy 14 star hotel, just something clean and comfortable that wouldn't break our budget. My husband and I took the Amtrak train into Union Station. This hotel is just a few blocks south of Union Station and was easy to walk to even with luggage in tow. The hotel staff including the restaurant were very friendly and helpful. While this hotel is a little ways from some of the major museums and sights of Chicago, it is very close to the blue El train line which will easily get you around town. The price was much more reasonable than hotels that were a few blocks closer to the center of downtown. But if you are a good walker, all of the major sights are within range. We actually enjoyed the walk, especially after indulging in all of the great restaurants Chicago has to offer. I highly recommend it! April 30, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Property Stayed here on business, excellent location close to downtown. Easy to get to off the Interstate. Neighborhood leaves a bit to be desired. From the time you pull up, until when you leave the staff goes out of their way to make you feel at home. The front desk clerk recognized my Platinum level and upgraded my room to a suite. The valet parking was easy and very professional. I ate dinner in the bar area, food and drink were excellent, and priced well for Chicago. The room was clean, and had better amenities than the HI Chicago - Mart that I normally stay at when in Chicago. I would highly recommend this property, just wish it was located in a better neighborhood. Thank you for a great stay! April 16, 2014

Within a few steps from blue line metro station. Remember that if you have a car, they will charge you with U$40.00 every night. I highly recommend a parking lot nearby that is much cheaper. The staff was VERY Friendly , they offered a late check out with extra cost, offered a bottle of water upon arrival, the room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable, would highly recommend this Holiday Inn Express, the only thing I can say is the vending machine didnt work on the 5th floor had to go down to 3 , but that was no big deal, and we are breakfast in the resturant,, which it was ok , but I thought it was a little to high (14.00 ) a person for breakfast buffet , to me is a little high, but I would recommend the stay, only 3 blocks from the Amtrak station , so thats a plus too April 2, 2014
