Staff was so accommodating when flights got cancelled. I was stuck here for two days awaiting flights and the staff worked very hard to make sure I was comfortable. Thanks so much!

Being evicted from our previously scheduled meeting room by a greedy events mgr.who overlapped the bookings was a NEGATIVE experience.
Passing an old room service tray in the 5th floor hallway for over 24 hours doesn't speak well of staff.
The taste of the tap water in the rooms was HORRIBLE. Needs some sort of pre-treatment.
Happy I will never have to return tothis hotel.

I came to stay here for a conference. The food was great and the dining area is beautiful. The pool area was a little cool, but usable. I also had my 2 toddlers with & my mom to watch them throughout the day. What made my stay best of all was that when I asked, the desk staff very willingly accommodated us by allowing us to check out late. Knowing we had the room for the duration of the conference was all the peace of mind I needed. Thank you!

Booked 2 nights so the kids could enjoy the pool. The heat in the pool area was not working, so it was very cold in the "Holidome" area. We did the best we could the first day, but the second day/night was too cold in the pool area, so we were stuck in the room with disappointed kids who wanted to swim. We felt that some discount should have been offered for the inconvenience, but no offer was made. Also called (twice) in the morning for additional toilet paper, waited 90 minutes for it to be delivered to the room.

Stayed in hotel during Christmas. Twice before my stay, I called and requested a specific floor and hallway. While I could not receive a guarantee, I was told their should be no problem. When I arrived, I could not get the area requested. I was given 3 reasons but all where shown to be false. My stay with my autistic granddaughter was horrible. We were placed in the most busy hallway in the hotel and neither of us could relax and enjoy. One day they did not clean room and heater to pool was broken and ruined any swimming plans.
I was completely treated poorly and it was totally unacceptable.

3 days and 3 showers later I can still smell the pool chemicals in my hair. We took our kids for an overnight to use the pool over winter break. Within a couple hours in the pool, the kids eyes were red and most of them ended up with a rash. We had planned to stay up and watch movies after the pool closed , but everyone went to bed early because their eyes hurt from the chemicals. Our group of will not be re-booking here during our next break.

Good Evening Lee,
I was given your email address by your front desk workers. I went up there to ask for a copy of a menu and they asked how our stay is going so far (we just checked in 2 hours ago) and I told them the pool area is absolutely disgusting. They told me that there was nothing they could do that I had to email you.
The purpose of this stay for us was to let our 2 kids (ages 6 and 9) swim and have some fun over their break while my husband was also on vacation.
After 45 minutes of being in the pool area, we have now returned to the room where we will be stuck for the rest of the night. The pool area is so disgusting that even my 2 kids don't want to be in it. The kids pool has brown stuff sitting in the bottom and the entire floor/walking area is gross - black and brown dirt, etc all over, clumps of hair that are sticking to our feet when we walk to table or other pool, etc, and the air is freezing because your front desk said the fan for the heat is broke.
This is the most disappointing trip we have ever had. My husband and I both are now stuck in a room with 2 upset kids and paying $130 (roughly) to sit in a room and watch TV which we could have stayed home to do.
That was the email I sent 4 days ago to their general manager and got no reply. I didn't even mention the disgustingly dirty sink area and bathroom.

I understand the heat was out in the pool area, but the staff was not around to provide clean dry towels or a place to put towels that were laying around (dirty). The Ping Pong tables had puddles of water and no one around to help get them dry to play.
Breakfast was fair - rubber pancakes and cold gravy (Biscuits and Gravy the rest was good. Ran out of plates both mornings even thou they were not crowded. Room was nice except we found a crayon and old room key on the floor - how much cleaning was done between guests?
Could be a really nice place, but staff needs to be a little more involved and conscientious. Recommend this - Maybe?

It's a hotel, but it's not much better than a low-budget hotel. Front desk staff was incompetent, lazy, and lacked basic knowledge of the surrounding area - about what I'd expect of a hotel charging half or less. Breakfast food was good, but the hostess was rude, and the staff was apparently overtasked - even though it's a buffet and all they have to do is provide drinks. Hopefully, I won't have to stay here again.

the hotel is old but clean. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The beds were new and comfortable. The pillows were small and too full. My husband got a headache the first night. I brought my own pillow. The hall was noisy. There was a party in the ballroom and the band played till l2:30, but all and all that's to be expected.
They had complimentary cookies, hot cider, apples and flavored fruit water every day.
The restaurant breakfast buffet was sufficient. I had a great chicken roasted panini for dinner.

We recently stayed at the Holiday Inn during some very significant (and strange for November) weather in the Chicago area. As a mother of three small children, I was very nervous about the weather we had driven through and the current Tornado Warning that was in effect. As soon as we arrived at the Holiday Inn, I rushed my children inside and approached the front desk. The staff were so incredibly understanding and helped me calm down immediately. They let me know that we were safe and informed me of their tornado procedures should it be necessary to implement them. They even offered me a complimentary drink ticket for the bar (which I used immediately).
The next morning we ate breakfast in the restaurant and had the buffet. While it wasn't the best buffet I'd ever had in my life, as a vegetarian, there were several things offered for me. The staff was so kind to us and especially to our children and did everything they could to accommodate them.
Overall, we were very appreciative of the staff at the hotel and my kids LOVED the pools! We will be back!

My friend and I only stayed two days but we can easily see staying in this hotel for a longer stay. The staff was amazing! Everyone from the front desk, to the shuttle drives, to the maintenance men we're so helpful. They went out of their way to make our stay great and provide us with anything we needed. The pool was perfectly well kept and the facilities were a perfect place to relax. I have nothing bad to say about the hotel. The restaurant was a little pricy but the food was good.

I was charged $80 from the restaurant for a meal that nobody in my travel party ate. I've been trying for the last week to get it rectified but I haven't heard from anyone at the hotel. Extremely disappointed in the level of service.

I could not say anything was lacking. The manager on duty showed my daughter the suite for the birthday sleep-over. She asked if she could get an apple. We were asked if we wanted cookies and cider. Made a special birthday dessert delivered to her room. Thought we left some gift cards in the room. Oscar at the front desk was amazing. We found them later at home, but the maids looked and they called us baCK IN A TIMELY MANNER. WE were very happy with the breakfasts, except that once the kids see the buffet, it is hard to ask them to pick something off the menu. We didn't use the childrens coupons for that reason. Had to pay for some of the kids with the child's buffet price. Would have been better to let the kids get the buffet and I saw other parents who didn't use the kids coupons. All my kids were 12, and they gave me a coupon for my 13 year old birrthday girl (turned 13). I rented a room across the hall from the girls, and I was able to get free breakfast. All in all a great experience!

The hotel was very nice & the staff was very nice, except the manager. When I checked in with the front desk, I told them we were there for my sons birthday and that we had a lot of family coming up to celebrate. The manager was standing right there and said nothing. When we tried to bring the kids down to swim, she told us that pool parties were not allowed. I already had 2 rooms and asked if I got another room, would that be ok. She said yes, but continued to tell us off and was extremely rude in front of the children and parents. It was embarrassing! She said that I wasn't honest about the party. One of the parents with us reminded her that I was honest when I checked. She then retracted her statement, said a few more words and stormed off. This incident has made me not want to stay there again. Sorry!
P.S. The rest of the staff was very nice and looked apologetic for her actions!

I have tried other hotels.and even other holiday inns. None of them compare to the holiday inn countryside. My family and I are all from Chicago but we stay at this particular holiday inn because of the relaxed atmosphere. We stay approximately 4 or 5 times a year because of the pool area. you can bring your own food and drinks and have a little party right by the pool. My 4 and 5 year olds love the kiddie pool becuse it is not too big or too small. My bigger kids love the Olympic size pool. I would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone. Its a great place to go to fight off the winter blues

I only stayed one night but it was great! Checked in late and was greeted with smiles and a welcome package! The shuttle to midway was timely and came with great conversation. I wish my stay would have been longer. I did not eat there but I could not ding them for that and there was no n/a option.

My family and I had a great weekend. room was comfortable and roomy, could have used a tv programming schedule, but no big deal. The guard at the pool was a bit overzealous because we didn't have the right color wrist band. Perhaps management needs to have a talk with them about politeness and courteousness. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience. The pool and atrium are awesommeeeeeeeeee. thanks :)

Stayed 3 nights recently for business. As a platinum member I was given a free breakfast buffet each day. This was no simple buffet...it was delicious with lots to choose from and doted on by friendly staff. Got my day off to a great start each morning. Room was well appointed with micro, fridge, large bathroom, and a mirror over the desk. Excellent internet service. Bed was comfy but the pillows were not. I will stay here again on my next trip to Chgo.

Front Desk Staff was very pleasant and I did receive a Club Members gift bag.
My daughter had a block of rooms for her wedding which I am sure brought in money for the hotel. We went down for breakfast the next day and our breakfast bill was over $50.00. My grandson was with us so we took a couple cartons of milk for the baby’s bottle and was told by the staff we could not take anything out of the restaurant. We were not taking plates of food, just a couple of very small cartons of milk. The night before I went to the lounge and paid $2.50 for a cup of milk (which I could have bought a gallon for that), so was a little upset with this situation.

After hosting a huge event in the Atrium room (service & setup was a 5 star production) we were able to retreat to our suite. The big in room hot tub soothed our tired bodies and let us relax. The staff is excellent eager to fill any request. I would definitely stay again and even think about making this a staycation destination!!
