Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by It was just ok We arrived to a Christmas party pretty much being held in the lobby. There were people at the front desk complaining about the noise while we were checking in too. The room was fine but we noticed some suspicious black spots on the white bed sheets. I inspected the bed and did not see what I feared could be there and none of us woke up with bites so the linens could have just been from another room. Regardless, they should have been replaced rather than used in their condition. Overall the experience was not great but just ok. January 1, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Anonymous airport hotel We booked the Holiday Inn Worth for Christmas Day partly for the location but also for the chance of a leisurely swim the following morning. It was only at check in that we were informed that the pool was closed over Christmas - a great disappointment and not flagged at any stage during the booking process. Whilst the room was of good quality the whole ambience of the hotel was "airport". Breakfast was OK but something of a disappontment compared to other Holiday Inns. A rather average experience. Having stayed here before, prior to traveling on to see my grandmother, when I saw we could stay in a family room for a bargain + parking I jumped at the chance, given dependable nature of the holiday inn brand. The hotel was as I remember, a great sized room, clean and spacious for the 3 of us. However the night was spoiled by Christmas party guests not making any effort to be as quiet as possible and then airport leavers a few hours later also not realising or caring that people might still be trying to sleep. Now I know this is a airport hotel so you should expect early risers, but having done this myself, you try and be as quiet as a mouse rather than talk in your normal voice and bang on doors!!!! breakfast the following morning was acceptable rather than good, but given the cost, certainly nothing to complain about. All in all as long as you know this is an airport hotel, then you will get the usual holiday inn expectations. Not staying around Xmas might also help. Would only stay again if the price was right. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good quick overnight stay We have stayed at Worth for the last two years en route to our flat in Madeira and on our return. We stay both before and after our visit as we live on the Isle of Wight and our ferry times do not allow us to get home direct. The reason I mention this is before the last two years we have stayed at large hotels, no atmosphere and miserable staff. In Worth we have found the right place for the odd night. The only reason I marked the staff down one point was that the restaurant staff could look a little more tidy and smile a little. Having said that the reception staff are first class. The food was reasonably priced and delicious, but above all the staff were all extremely friendly and jovial. The hotel was spotless, parking was a dream and our room was first class. I would not hesitate to stay here again or to recommend HI to friends. November 12, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Clean and comfortable, good location We were told we were being upgraded but were not impressed with the room allocated so went back to reception to request our original room which was much better (2 double bedded room) . Given location the hotel is peaceful with ample parking but £10 a night parking charge is a bit steep. Did not eat at the hotel or visit the bar so can't comment about that. Concerned on check out that payment was taken in full as we thought we had prepaid, will not be able to check this until PC visa statement comes through. Receptionist was quiet rude when we questioned this. Room was very clean though and beds comfortable, so we did enjoy our stay. November 6, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Welcoming & friendly staff, v clean & comfortable room but poor breakfast A very comfortable night's stop-over before a flight out of Gatwick the next morning. Staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. Check in and check out were speedy. Room was very clean, quiet, comfortable and practical. Our late supper was fine. The only let-down was breakfast which was very poor - cooked food was visually unattractive and either tasteless or unpleasant. Notwithstanding breakfast I would still recommend the hotel! By contrast, the breakfast was very disappointing. Very expensive (£14 for continental) way above the normal rate for hotels of this type. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Friendly and helpful staff and great value I stay regularly in this great hotel. Staff is brilliant and friendly. Always there to help and accommodate anything. Unfortunately the only thing they can do when internet in rooms is not working is reboot the router. The hotel management should look into contracting a different hardware provider and re-fit every room with a decent system as the current one is abysmal. Location is a little difficult to find at first for those who come for the first time but it is in a quiet area (despite proximity to the M25) and nights are always calm and quiet with a great sleep every time. only 2 areas need to improve to make this hotel perfect: 1) wifi internet coverage in rooms is very bad and always troublesome and reception is very very poor and most of the times does not work at all when using tablets, ipods, laptops 2) Food is too pricey for the restaurant and breakfast Restaurant food is good and children's menu is fairly priced but for adults, mains should be closer to the 10 pound mark rather than 15-20 pounds. 10 pounds for breakfast is quite expensive relative to a regular breakfast place, especially given the quality of the food which is just ok for breakfast. I would suggest an extra 5 pounds for breakfast charged for the stay is a fair price. October 31, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very nice rooms, good breakfast, good parking package I stayed here with my wife and two children for one night prior to a trip to the USA. The rooms are all modern and clean (excusing a couple of cobwebs high up in the ceiling, which I wasn't worried about - it is coming up to Halloween :-) ). The beds were very comfortable with a choice of pillow types/firmness and the room was spacious. The bathroom was well equipped and the shower was nice and powerful with an adjustable head for shower/jet. Breakfast was excellent with a very large choice and the cooked English breakfast was huge and certainly set us up for the day. We had a problem with the WIFI on Apple iOS 7 devices, whereas an older Apple device and an Android device worked fine. The staff were very attentive and helpful and we eventually determined the problem was with devices with an apostrophe in their name - removing the offending apostrophe solved the problem and the staff even gave us complimentary WIFI access. If I had paid for the WIFI according to the normal terms that would be my only gripe - nearly everywhere provides free WIFI these days but the Holiday Inn want to charge you to use it!!! We purchased an overnight stay with 15 days parking and the price was very reasonable. The car was in the condition that we left it (as you would expect) and, even though it had been moved for efficiency of available parking spaces, the mileage was the same as we left it - so not driven far. All the staff we dealt with were cheerful and helpful. Overall, a very pleasant stay and I'd certainly come back and recommend to others. October 27, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not like our first visit We Stayed at Gatwick Worth on Saturday 19th October as we had stayed the previous week (12th) and had enjoyed our stay. On this visit we had two rooms the one that my wife and I stayed in the window would not close fully and there was a whistling sound coming in the room all night, also the TV has a LED clock built into it. The green light is so bright it glows quite brightly during the night. I have to put 3 of the bath towels over the TV to stop most of the light coming into the room. I think this week the hotel seemed much busier than the previous week as last week we where served hot drinks with our breakfast as this week it was all DIY. We normally stay at the crown plaza gatwick when we visit family and go on holiday, I may start going back to them. I have another booking for this week, but am thinking of cancelling it as I need tom have a good nights sleep and we did not get this on our last visit. The reception staff in the morning did not seem to be that bothered, but there where busy. October 26, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable room, pity about the parking charges. My wife and I used the Holiday Inn for an overnight stop before an early morning flight from Gatwick. Our room was very comfortable, of a decent size and spotlessly clean. Due to our early start the next morning we cannot comment on the breakfast offered by the hotel. We were however really disappointed to be charged £10 for the privilege of parking at the hotel. The hotel rates are expensive enough without charging residents a further fee for parking overnight. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Close to the airport and nice for a one night stay Hotel was nice, kind of out in the middle of no where. Convenient for next day flights out of the airport, only about 10 minutes away from airport. Only down fall is if you plan to do continental breakfast make sure to be down there 30+ minutes before they close. We got down there 25 minutes before they closed and they were clearing off the buffet line and closing everything down. When a person pays for breakfast they shouldn't be taking the buffet down until after the closing time. September 23, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fabulous staff, consistent, flexible and courteous The hotel, at first glance, looks and feels like a care home (aside from the great gym next door) however it is a lovely place to stay. It doesn't have the feel of the local corporate airport hotels, but what makes the hotel is the staff, specifically the reception staff. No request is too much trouble, any issues are quickly solved and the whole process is painless (which is unusual in chain hotels). I have the choice of a number of local hotels and would choose this one all the time...the only minor issue that needs to be addressed (like virtually every business hotel) is the food. When will someone do a proper, travellers food menu....normal food, not messed around at a price that doesn't make it feel like your at a posh restaurant. September 21, 2013
