We now stay at the Holiday Inn at Ellesmere Port not least of all because the staff just cannot do enough for the guests. Highly recommend this hotel August 24, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Children's meals We would have liked to eat a second night in the hotel but we thought that the children's menus bland and boring. All the restaurant staff gave a good level of service. I have stayed in this hotel before and hope to stay again.. I always recommend it to people who want to visit the zoo. August 18, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Lovely stay Lovely hotel, great staff, very clean, well presented room, good facilities, good surroundings with the boat museum/Locks, but not a vast choice of drinks behind the bar though. Leisure facilities were fine but not the best. There were the first few signs of age about the place beginning to show a little, but this was not detrimental to any way to our stay. - A nice holiday break August 18, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Very let down We visited as a party of 4 in 2 rooms for 1 night as part of a relaxing break. On arrival the reception staff where first class, the room was first class. We dined out as the hotel seemed very busy with a wedding reception. On returning all the carparks where full so we had to sqeeze the car in a non designated space over a kerb. On returning home we found our Mercedes had sustaned damage from another vehicle, most certainly from there! Returned to our rooms to noise of drinkers and smokers in the front canopy which i gave in to at 2.45am and rang reception. He said "sorry, it will be OK in 1/4 of an hour or so as the doors are being shut!" But the noise in the corridors continued for a further hour or our eyes became so sore we fell asleep! Our traveling partners had a worse night as they where over the canopy and in the room next to the lifts! We obviously tried to sleep in but the noise started again at 8ish we finally went for breakfast at 9.30 to be met by queues 20 deep at the buffet. When we got to the front we where able to get beans and tomatoes then after a further 5 minutes, bacon and egges, then after another 5 minutes, mushroom and black pudding and then after standing for over 20 minutes we got some hot sausages to go with the rest of the cold items! We sat and had plenty of hot caffine to try and set us up for the visits and long drive home we had planned. A very friendly senior waitress asked if we had a nice stay and was everything was ok? Which I explained why we wer not, her reply was " I think you have to just expect that there will be a wedding reception at every hotel on a Saturday night!!!!" Again the reception staff where very helpful and sympathetic on our departure. I havnt checked the bank yet to see if we where charged or not! All in all we left there very very tired! This stay was booked online so I do feel the hotel should contact you to say there is a large party on that night! Although I have said not recommended, Im sure it is a fantastic hotel at other times. The room was fantastic as where the "day " reception staff. August 17, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by 2 night stay Staff very pleasant and helpful on arrival, booking in took two mins tops. Room clean and modern. Gym and swimming pool tidy not over crowded, just watch children only allowed in the pool until 8pm. Bar and resturant food good value and tasty. August 15, 2014

Clean rooms and very comfortable beds, although room a little warm. Food brilliant - plenty of choice if you wanted a healthy option and good for the children too. Would definitely stay at Holiday Inn again. August 13, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable stay Once again we had a very comfortable stay at the Holiday Inn Ellesmere Port - it's always our first choice of hotel when working in the area. Reception staff are fabulous, and it was lovely that one member of staff recognised us from a previous stay. We have in the past stayed in an executive room but on this occasion we were in a standard guest room which was clean but a little dated and in need of some rejuvenation. I think there are some rooms that have been redecorated, but ours wasn't one of them. However the bed was super comfortable, and we had a great nights sleep so definitely can't complain as it did what it says on the tin! We'll be back, but hopefully we'll be able to upgrade to an executive room again next time. August 11, 2014

The meals are very good and the rooms are clean and comfortable. No doubt we will be back again in the future. August 11, 2014
