We enjoyed a great weekend stay at holiday Inn Lancaster. Help your self breakfasts were excellent, room was very well presented and very comfortable. Very handy for getting onto the motorway and accessing the Lakes. Enjoyed having access to films in our room. Only real negative was that you had to pay to use the Internet.

We've stayed here lots over the years. It is just off the motorway so great location. The pool is great and my little girl loves it. Only once we've had to book as it was busy. This time the hotel was busy as you could see at breakfast time but the staff coped really well. It is the busiest I've ever seen but it is the kids holidays and the run up to the bank holiday.
Staff couldn't do enough for you. Drinks a bit pricey but for one or two that doesn't matter. The games in the bar are a great addition for kids to play with as well as the playground at the back.

Spacious, comfortable rooms, good leisure facilities, pleasant dining experience.
Check in could have been better, but on the whole staff OK.
Hotel in good location for discovering Lancaster & surrounding areas, watch out for the last bus past the hotel though, anything after about 1830 & you'll be on foot or taxi.

Had a fab stay here, staff were polite and helpful. The cleanliness of the rooms was first rate. Breakfasts were nice, with a large variety. All in all a very pleasant stay. Thank you

Our original room was next door to what we were told were boilers. These ran 24 hours and made it impossible to sleep. The front desk staff were keen to help and we moved to a new room. This though over looked the pool, which with the windows opened, meant at 0630 another fan/motor kicked in.
On a seperate note, I dont understand hotels that allow dogs, but dont allow you to go to an area to have a drink, as all tables can have food served to them. This meant we had to drink in the room. Mentioned this to the restaurant manager and in the politest clear off not interested tone, he made an apology.

Five double rooms were booked for a total of nine family members for dinner bed and breakfast. Our stay was excellent in all regards and we were able to walk into Lancaster and have a thoroughly enjoyable family weekend.

Flew over 3000 miles to England to see friends that I have not seen for a long time. I chose this location due to it's easy access to the motor way. Our rooms were super clean and the staff was amazing. It's not very often when you can find a place when you walk through the door you fill like home. Thank you to the staff for helping make this visit MEMORABLE!

Having stayed in the Holiday Inn several times over the past few weeks and having stayed in various rooms. I was disappointed that the standards are not the same in all rooms. My last experience, nice comfy bed but the bathroom door had the bottom section hanging off and the shower .... took at least 10 minutes to get up to any sort of strength to shower under. .

My family loves Holiday Inn ever since, it was the right choice to stay in a hotel where you feel home and the breakfast was superb, the accommodation was affordable. Will definitely stay in holiday inn again...
the only thing was not okay was,when we arrived on monday night, the room was nicely presented, then, the next day ,Tuesday,the housekeeper didn't manage to clean the room properly, but from wednesday to friday, it was fine.

Good facilities and comfortable rooms. Food is quite expensive in the restaurant for what you actually get. All in all a good relaxing experience and would stay there again.

the staff were very helpful especially with the grandchildren, it was good to have the pool and outside play area and the movie channel came in very useful on the one wet day we had, thank you can highly recommend the experience especially with a 2 and a half year old.

Lovely clean hotel with very comfy rooms. Felt £28 was a bit expensive for a burger with a "few" chips, gluten free roll, pint of lager and a small white wine. Annoyed that we were not told the hotel had a pool, sauna etc when we booked. Would have loved to have had a swim and chillax but missed out.

The hotel location is far away from the city centre and the bus service is very limited (you have to catch the bus at 5:45pm from the city centre!)
The menu is generally okay. There was a special menu after giving feedback. Hope more options can be provided in the future menu, for example, seafood and vegetarian foods.
The room is basically comfortable. Good!

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 Good service, tired room, expensive extras
All OK with reception on arrival and easy checkin.
Room was tired and desperately needed a revamp, but was clean and fitted my needs. Mattress acceptable. Door to bathroom would not shut, informed reception on exit as did not hinder my stay. One of my frustrations with most hotels also apparant here - no mains sockets near the bedsides.
Extortonate cost of WiFi access - £25 for 2 days, or £16 for 1 day (Slow too!). Really not appropriate these days where so many other establishments don't charge for this or just a minimal fee (Premier Inn opposite with a more comfortable bed has WiFi for £3 per day).
Bar prices to be expected for a hotel chain - i.e. best avoided.
Didn't get a chance to use the leisure facilities, but the pool area looked packed so unlikely to get a relaxing swim in anyhow.
Upshot - won't be staying again, plenty of better alternatives out there.

Great hotel, friendly, helpful staff. Food is excellent. Right on the motorway so very easy to find.
One thing lets it down, the price of wine. £23 for an ordinary red:(

We regularly stay at Lancaster as we find the situation extremely good. It is a pity that the breaks are widely advertised but feel it is a great pity that one has to book so far in advance(21 days) to qualify for a cheaper deal. I do have to comment on the state of the drinking glassed provided for juice at breakfast, they were disgusting. Even my 12 year old grandson drew attention to them and refused to drink from them. I drew attention to them and the waitress said she was sorry but they didn't get time to polish them (not good enough). I was astounded next morning to find the glasses in exactly the same condition, one even had an earwig inside. Ugggggggggh. Could you please ensure no further recurrence of this nature.

The staff at the holiday inn were very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable. The food was of a high standard, particularly the breakfast, where there was much variety. We enjoyed the use of the hotel facilities, including the good size pool and lovely play area outside. We have always enjoyed our stays at the holiday inn as they are very family friendly, but this holiday inn was particularly good.

Unfortunately every time we stay at this hotel something disappoints us. This time the bathroom had some clotted hair on the floor and in one of the bedroom drawers my daughter who is 5 found an empty packet of cigarettes. Then we realised there weren't enough towels for the 4 of us. Another time we got there late and the bar had run out of peanuts and there was no food on offer at all. With small kids that is a bit of a nightmare. Anyway the staff seemed good at the desk and said they'd not charge us for the additional tab we'd run up as we'd paid already for the room - but then we found out they'd gone and charged us after all. Very difficult to get thru to a person t to sort it all out so overall a poor show

Overall our stay was satisfactory. However we had booked a double room which wasn't available on our arrival. We were offered the last room in the hotel which was a twin room. We were disappointed with this service. It was agreed that the we could have breakfast included for free and as IHG Reward Club Members we were given some bonus points. We did ask for a check out one hour later than it should be and this was honoured at no extra fee. The breakfast was very good and as already mentioned overall our stay was enjoyable.

Great service, we asked for and were given a room upgrade on arrival. Rooms clean and comfortable. Evening meal nice, good choice. Breakfast was excellent, food hot and wide variety. Easy access to Windermere and lake district. Would recommend and definitely use again.

First let me say the staff on Reception were excellant but we were let down by the rest.
We were acknowledged as being a Priority Club Member but there were no benefits ie No Upgrade or Newspaper offered. The room had none of the usual toiletry items in the bathroom.
On the 1st July the room was only partially serviced-beds not made up, dirty cups by the tea making tray.
The restaurant/ bar did not have basic food items listed on the menu ie onion rings. The food was served and then cutlery had to be found.
On the 2nd July room was left untidy , toiletry not replaced. Restaurant had no parmesan cheese for the Caesar Salad
3rd July. Toilet paper not replaced.
Asked about the parmesan before ordering the Caesar Salad -we were not informed that it was not available[unbelievable with a supermarketr just down the road] and the salad was seved with ?Cheddar. The bill had some other guests drinks on it. Spoke to the Manager
This was the worst of 4 IHG Hotels we stayed in on this trip
Reception offered a 3000 point reimbursement -I would like a full days points reimbursement

The Hotel was a welcome stop over on our journey North. We received a very friendly welcome and enjoyed a good meal before retiring for a good nights sleep in a comfortable bed.

This hotel is just excellent, I used it for work, I had a 03:00 start so was up at 01:00 for a cup of tea and a shower, the hotel was ever so quiet, after check in I had a few hours of work in my room to do before I went for my evening meal, I sat at the bar and my meal was fantastic, I then seen they do Starbucks, what more can you ask for, all the staff I seen were so polite, everything worked for me, the Internet was great, so yes I will be staying at this friendly hotel again soon.

I would pick out the people at Holiday Inn Lancaster as being their greatest asset. My wife has particular food allergy problems, and reception and the restaurant people went out of their way to be as helpful as possible. There was also a general atmosphere of friendliness, kindness even, which is quite rare to find even in the so called hospitality business. Would recommend this hotel to anyone

Staff brilliant & Welcoming. Brought whole family staying in three ground floor rooms with two dogs. Rooms quite large and very clean. Lounge chair and bed setee very welcome. You don't always seem to get this in even more expensive hotels. Breakfast (inc. in bargain price) was one of the best we have experienced. The hotel is next to the river Lune with its cycle way and footpath which is very convenient for dog walking.

Had an excellent time with my 6 year old grandson.Room was big and spacious with 2 comfortable double beds and very quiet.Hotel very child friendly good swimming pool and adventure playground a bonus.Food very good in restaurant especially the breakfast and pancake machine!All staff very helpful and friendly and would definitely stay there again. All in all great value for money.

Three tour parties arrived at the hotel that afternoon. The results were long delays at check in and it was impossible to get a table in the restaurant at a time convenient to us. Also, I object to being told, when I ask for services to be charged to my room, that I cannot do this unless I go to reception and have my credit card validated. No other hotel chain I use does this and I have not encountered it in Holiday Inns before. All in all what could have been a very pleasant stay in an excellent room was ruined.
