Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by All faux wooden floors????? We were so excited to think of staying in a brand new Holiday Inn. Have loved all the Holiday Inns we have been in. Cannot say the same here. First, the no carpeting feel in the rooms was hard and cold. The noisy heat blower ran all night. The pool was only 3 feet deep, No hot tub either. When we arrived the toilet did not flush. Took almost an hour for staff to help out and arrange for other floor with identical room. We are Priority Club long time members. Good news is, we did NOT opt for the side of the building where a train runs by with some frequency! Staff were very nice folks. February 24, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Comfortable Everything was clean and comfortable. I recommend putting a "do not disturb" sign on the door because we were woken up at 9:00 by the cleaning lady. That was my only complaint. February 21, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Pretty great place to stay My room was facing an active railroad. While the trains usually didn't sound any horns during the night, they were sometimes noisy when they passed by the hotel. From once an hour to once every few hours, it seemed like. My room was generally clean. Once or twice, the floors felt sticky, but overall, the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The beds were warm and pretty comfortable. My room was always clean. The bathroom was spacious and I enjoyed the TV channel selection. Breakfast was delicious. My email confirmation mentioned it was complimentary, but when my coworkers and I arrived, we were charged. However, when we brought up the e-mails, these charges were removed from our final bill. I would stay here again. February 20, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointed Guest I've stayed at this hotel a couple times for business. With my first visit I was satisfied with everything except housekeeping. I had left the hotel at approximately 7:30 am and returned after 5 pm to disappointingly find my room had not been cleaned. I reported this to the front desk. The young man that was at the front desk was very cordial and apologetic and stated that he would clean himself. I left for dinner and when I returned, my room had been cleaned. On my second visit, there were several disappointments. When I first checked in, although I had reserved a handicap accessible room, that is not what I'd been given and the room had to be changed. The next morning, I found some kind of bugs in my room that I'd never seen before (long white bugs with a lot of legs). I was very upset about this and reported to the front desk. The female at the desk said she knew what I was talking about and they would take care of. She didn't seem very concerned. When I returned that day and stopped at the front desk and asked if it had been resolved. I was told that it was not documented in the book that I had made a complaint about it. Fortunately it didn't see any more so I don't know if they took care of the problem or if it was me who actually "took care of it" when I saw them prior to making the report. Lastly, I was a little disappointed that the hotel no longer provides express breakfast bags for Priority Club members. I completed a survey after the last visit and asked to be contacted but never heard from anyone. Makes me feel that I'm not a valued customer. February 14, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very nice and clean hotel Very clean and nice rooms. The hotel staff was helpful and very polite. The food was good. Located in nice area and close to several resturants. The only problem with this hotel was the fact a train track is located directly behind it and the train seemed like it ran every hour on the hour during the night. If you stay here be sure to request a room on the front side of the hotel and it might help a little with the train noise. Other than the train......this is a good hotel. February 11, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by FRONT DESK I have stayed at your location on several occasion. The breakfast and the waiter is the best in the whole Express chain! When I checked in (about 6:30 pm) I asked the lady at the front desk not to put me on the same floor as the women and three young girls that were not well behaved. She not only put me on the same floor but almost next door to them, (I checked and you were not close to being full). I immediately return to the front desk along with my wife and a cart full of luggage. She absolutely not nice and was really put out that I wasn't happy. If I did like your hotel and the rest of the people that worked there I would have left and never returned. I'm sorry but I didn't get her name but she certainly is not up to par with the rest of your staff. Tks for listening. January 2, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Macon Retiremend We were not informed of the full booking of middle school students. I had erroneous phone calls from other guests after midnight, heard many children running in the halls and loud singing through the walls in the early morning hours. As business travellers, it is not my preference to be in hotels with simultaneous convention bookings. Apparently this property does this type of business often because this is the second time in a row that we have had this experiance there. We will not book that property again. December 15, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Clean Room, Friendly Staff This hotel is very nice, brand new! I stay at this Holiday Inn everytime I am in Macon, and never have a complaint! I agree with other reviews about the train being noisy on the back side of the building, however, after a couple of hours I didn't even notice it. It didn't keep me up at night or anything like that. The staff is very friendly and always willing to help! They have a nice bar/lounge area too which is nice. The rooms are beautiful. The wood flooring is really nice, I feel like this can be kept a lot cleaner than the typical carpet too, so I feel more comfortable in the room. December 13, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful Building We had a great time . The staff at the front desk was very hospitable. The room was clean. Would recommend this place December 11, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great loaction, bar and restaurant was closed! Many good restaurants nearby which is good since the bar and restaurant at the hotel were closed when I stayed there. December 2, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by WORST ACCOMADATIONS AND INCONSIDERATIONS ROOM FULL OF LADY BUGS NO ATTEMPT TO INFORM GUEST ID OF AWFUL AGGRAVATING DISTURBANCE BY TRAIN IMMEDIATELY OUT SIDE WINDOW. THERMOSTAT NOT WORKING IN ROOM MAKING THE WOOD FLOORS MOST COLD AND UNCOMFORTABLE. HOTEL MANAGER NOT COURTEOUS, ONLY OFFERED $20.00 TO ACCOMMODATE GROSS INCONVENIENCES. OVERSLEEP AND WAS CHARGED FOR AN ADDITIONAL DAY WITH OUT NOTICE OR CONSIDERATION. FILED COMPLAINT WITH STAFF WITH "NO" ADDRESS. November 23, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Great Facility, So-So Staff & Maintenance We picked this hotel because Macon was the place we needed to stop for the night and we are fans of the Holiday Inn brand. The property is beautiful! The hotel is two years old and the common areas look like they are brand new. The problems happened when we got to the room. Once in this very attractive room the first thing we noticed was that the entryway and bathroom door had black scuffs on the paint for about six feet down the wall. This is SUCH a nice room on the Priority Club floor, and the experience is diminished for want of 10 minutes of paint. In the bathroom there was a similar issue; over the doorway you can see where the door frame has been repainted, along with some of the wallpaper. I mean, c'mon guys... We needed a wi-fi code and I could not get an answer at the front desk. I walked downstairs and the night girl was on a personal call. I know it was personal because I went out to the car to get the rest of my things and she was still on it and put her hand over the phone whenever anyone walked by. The next morning we had breakfast in the hotel dining area and both the food and the service were excellent. Overall I think this is a beautiful facility that appears to have some management issues, as things like maintenance and service should be automatic. If this were my hotel and I had spent this kind of money to build it I would expect better from my staff. November 18, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by professionalism I would recommend this holiday inn to any and all the stay was great. The staff was outstanding. November 4, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Restaurant needs improvement The hotel is modern and inviting. I have stayed several times b/c of convenience. Hwr, the restaurant needs a lot of help with staffing and quality of service. I want to check in and not have to go back out for food. It takes forever to get someone to wait on you and then the peron can't find menus or the restaurant is out of many of the food items. October 29, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Stay Here I have stayed here multiple weeks for business. Staff is great and the Hotel is well taken care of. Convenient restaurant in the hotel plus many others nearby. October 25, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Staying in Macon??? The location, staff and property are all good! Very clean, new and the best TV's of 99% of all Holiday Inn locations! Reasonable rates and very kind staff. October 13, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Exceptional Service I was in Macon for a convention and initially there was a issue with my room that was promptly corrected. Your staff made me feel at home from the minute I stepped into the hotel. I had such a great experience that any time I travel I will look for a Holiday Inn. I can't remember her name but the waitress that waited on me each morning for breakfast was a delightful women. Whenever I travel through Georgia I will make it a point to reserve my room at your hotel. Excellent facility and excellent staff. October 6, 2012
