Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Holiday Inn Beale Street Overall one of the better priced hotels in downtown Memphis - right across from the Peabody... Basic looking lobby area and clean! Great secured valet parking.... Room / hallways were a bit run down and dated... The worst part was the street noise - we were on a high floor and could still hear the motorcycles/cars etc. well past 11PM.... May 4, 2015

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Noisy We were on the sixth floor and the outside noise was bad. It sounded like drag racing on Union Street until about 3am. We could hear "conversations" from the street. It sounded like all street conversations were shouted, probably to be heard over the roaring of engines. On top of that, the guests in the room next door were literally shouting at 2 am, when we finally called the front desk and asked to be moved. They could not accommodate a move as the hotel was full, but they did evidently send someone up to ask the people next door to be quiet. This was our first stay in Memphis, so I don't know if all the hotels suffer from the noise. April 30, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great location Perfect location if you're looking to be within walking distance to local bars/restaurants etc. April 29, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Downtown Memphis we stayed on the 12th floor. this unit requires an eminent refurbishing. small room, even smaller bath room. Windows frames on the outside are not dirty but filthy. Carpets in corridors do not have an inviting appearance. Mr. Wilson would be disappointed of his first hotel base. April 29, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Bring your own alarm clock and pillows I trusted the wake up call system and it failed me, causing me to be late for an appointment. Also, the firm pillows weren't. Other than that, it's a nice, centrally located hotel. Close enough to entertainment. Far enough away to be away from it all. Thursdays, the place across the street has a very loud rooftop party. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Choose another hotel As a first timer to Memphis, I wanted to stay within walking distance to Beale St. and this seemed like a great option compared to the costlier hotel across the street. Upon arriving we checked in fine but then once getting to the room, my toilet was dirty.. yes dirty as in there were items still in it. Now I use public toilets so I can do a simple flush but it made me think how clean is the rest of the room? The bed seemed fine and was average, the lamp shade on in the corner was handing off as though someone had tossed something on it. Nevertheless it was just for two nights so I stayed. It was a down pour on a Monday night and I recognize that most people probably wouldn’t have been in the hotel bar/restaurant otherwise and instead out on Beale St., however there were about 30 people in here all wanting drinks and food. A drink took about 20 minutes TO ORDER. They were highly under staffed but the reception area seemed to have plenty… GET YOUR PEOPLE BACK THERE TO HELP IN THE BAR OR KITCHEN. The poor waitress we all recognized it was not her fault but we also heard that the hotel was sold out for the night so it seems staffing is not done appropriately. Fortunately the next day it was clear and we could avoid the hotel bar. My overall review is to spend the few extra bucks and stay across the street. April 27, 2015
