Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 Convenient Location to Downtown
Very nice hotel and convenient to downtown. Hotel was under construction and was disappointed to be a guest during their construction. I am sure the hotel will be extra nice when their project is complete. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Except room 503-----both beds were sagged with poor springs. Woke up with a back ache. We only stayed in this room 1 night. I would go back to this location my next visit to Nashville.

The hotel was clean. The hotel staff was very friendly. This hotel is centrally located in the West End of town. Close to many of the sights of Nashville. Close to hospitals, good restaurants, shopping!

During an extensive remolding project many of the hotel's guests have been additionally inconvenienced by having one of two entrances closed. This would be understood if self-service parking was not also restricted by reducing the available spots to accommodate valet parking. The valet parking spots should not be located next to the only entrance, thus taking up self-service spots. They should be located in another area farther away, like next to the closed entrance. The valet attendant can park and retrieve the cars in the remote area. By adding the valet spots right next to the only working entrance, it forces your other customers into the overflow area near the non-working entrances.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Marci502 We have already booked for another stay.
While not perfect, this was a very good experience for us. First, let's relieve the suspense and deal with the "not perfect" aspect. The hotel is currently undergoing renovation (due to be completed in February 2015), and consequently guests must enter through the rear of the hotel (I have no problem with that). We tried to park ourselves near the rear entrance, but there happened to be no empty spots except for those dedicated to valet parking, so we used valet. They have luggage carts right there to help you get in with your bags. Any of the valet attendants we dealt with were excellent. (Thanks, Nathan! Thank you, Heather!) Once you get into the rear entrance of the hotel, you then have to figure out where to go from there. (Signage with arrows would be helpful. FYI: turn to your left, go around the corner and the elevators are on your left. Go to the second floor. The temporary lobby/check-in/gift shop is just to the right, across from the elevators.) Other guests proved to be helpful and informative throughout our stay, passing on directions.
Check-in was pleasant, and I reminded them of the conversation we'd had when I booked the room, that we might need a second night, but we wouldn't know until after our appointment at the medical center, and asked for late check-out. They said as long as we called by 1:00, neither checking out that day nor staying a second day would be a problem. However, at 11:00 (check-out time) we received a call while we were at the medical center wanting to know when we were checking out, and we were told we couldn't stay a second night, they were full. Once I reminded them that we'd discussed this when I booked the room, and again when we checked in, they told me they would work something out and when we returned from our appointment to stop in the lobby and have our key cards set for the second day, no problem. And so it was -- no problem.
The room was immaculate, warm, welcoming, and well-appointed. There were special touches like bath linens rolled and folded into swans. Each bed had four pillows -- two firm and two soft. The beds were comfortable. The mini-fridge and microwave were clean inside. The room was all we could have hoped for.
This is an ideal place to stay if you need to visit any component of the medical center, as they have a hotel shuttle (free) that will transport anywhere within a three-mile radius, and the medical center falls within that area. It is such a relief not to have to try to negotiate unfamiliar streets and try to figure out how to get to the right location of the huge medical complex!
We highly recommend this hotel. And, in fact, we will be returning ourselves in mid-January.

Had more comfortable bed and pillows at other locations. I'm sure this is not the norm at this location.

They have been under construction since November. Getting in and out of the hotel is a hassle as the back entrance is now closed. The lobby is totally torn up. I work night shift and sleep there during the day. There is no sleep as construction workers are there from 8-5 every day with their sledgehammers, drills, etc making sleep absolutely impossible. Almost every time I have stayed something in the room is broken, from the t.v, to refrigerators, irons, hairdryers etc. Not enough outlets. Lights in bathrooms burned out etc. I applaud that they are giving this run down hotel the upgrades that are desperately needed but it is a miserable place to stay and will remain so until the construction work is complete.
