Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by worst Holiday Inn ever It was not noted when I booked a room here, but when I arrived I noticed construction going on. When I checked in I asked for a room away from the construction because I needed to sleep in the daytime due to my work demands. I was told that there were no rooms away from the construction because construction was hotel-wide. I was then given a room that surrounded the elevators, which was very odd shaped. I heard jackhammering all day when I was trying to sleep. The hotel should have shut down to have this level of construction performed. It was obvious that this hotel was in a very poor condition and was not well maintained. The desk chair was almost broken and had stains, as did other furniture. More time should have been spent cleaning the rooms instead of making swans with the towels. I have been having less than stellar experiences at Holiday Inns lately which is causing me to re-examine my lodging choices. On a good note, and the highlight of my stay, was my server in the restaurant for breakfast. I don't remember her name but she was a lovely hispanic woman with a fabulous smile that provided exceptionally good service. November 23, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Weekend Stays We generally stay there for Vanderbilt home baseball games. It has been fairly affordable except on special event weekends in Nashville. The hotel is getting needed updates but if prices go up we will stay somewhere else. Rumors are they are going to begin charging for parking which is a deal breaker for us. November 20, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Wait till the construction is over We did not know that the lobby area was under construction. It was very awkward to carry several bags to the check-in desk which was relocated to the second floor, and then on to the room. The back door to the main parking lot was blocked by construction, so I had to walk around the building in the rain. Staff were very friendly and helpful as always, but they needed to supply a porter and someone to escort people from the back door through the construction to the lobby, while the construction is going on. This place is great when there is no construction. We'll wait until the construction is over before we come back. November 19, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Hotel Centrally Located The only issue with this property was the lobby area was under reconstruction and you had to go to the 2nd floor to check in. There wasn't anyone to greet you and advise you needed to go to second floor. Once checked in the overall experience was excellent. The restaurant was in the bar area but it was clean and smoke free. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good Hotel but near Vanderbilt Stadium so too noisy Overall experience was average just because room was confortable and clean but too noisy. Take care about breakfast included advise, because I changed my reservation from Downtown area to the Vanderbilt area because of these item in the amenities and had to spend more money. Staff and service was good, specially the van service. The value? I have paid twice as advice in the web page area. Take care. November 15, 2014
