Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Standards slipping? I stay in this hotel a lot on business drawn by priority points & gym/leisure facilities. I liken it to a pair of old slippers -not out to impress but comfortable & homely. Staff on the whole are professional but poorly deployed as often there is only one person at check-in but lots of other staff wandering about ignoring the queue. There is often dirty trays or glasses from room service left in corridors. Once there was a duvet with sick on it that was still there 30 min later. My other niggle now it is more wintery is that the radiators don't work in some rooms, leaving the option of cranking up air conditioning to max temperature to get some warmth. Rooms are always clean & comfortable apart from that & the bar area has a nice relaxed atmosphere in evening. However standards as described do seem to have slipped since I started using this hotel regularly several months ago. December 22, 2014

Staff always pleasant and helpful and well done Matt the barman for actually remembering I drink Guinness when he must see hundreds of people passing through December 15, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Ok overnight stay Stayed for one night on a round trip and it served it's purpose. Hotel is dated and needs some tlc but for what we paid was good value. We were left standing at various points during our stay for quite some time before being acknowledged. Perhaps some further training is required. The rooms were comfortable enough but with dated furnishings and it was a little chilly for my liking. Bed was ok and the room was quite clean although I noticed some black mould between the ceiling and wall in one corner. Corridor was very chilly. Curtains were nice. December 11, 2014
