Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Had a great snowed-in stay! We stayed here the night before a big snow storm. The staff was very friendly and helpful and patient...we asked to see the Bridal suite, the Jacuzzi suite and the Executive suite...just to compare to the room we were staying in...and were pleasantly surprised that our room was right up there in as much as quality and comfort for the price we paid! The restaurant was excellent...we had lunch which was delicious so of course we opted to come back for dinner even though we were out...and had a fantastic meal...I would go there for dinner even if I wasn't staying there! Authentic Chef creations. The wait staff could have been a little more attentive, our bread n water waiter was better than our actual waitress...but I look forward to staying there again. I have already spoke to my wife about choosing this hotel when we are staying in Manhattan. The quality and price is worth driving to Long Island for sleeping accommodations. January 22, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Convenient location, no outside windows, noisy heater Chose this hotel for the location for a one-night visit. Checkin was smooth and staff very friendly. When we got to the room, we noticed that the window faced the hallway...not great for privacy, and there were no windows facing outside. We could live with this for one night. For a longer stay, we would have requested a room change or moved to a different hotel. After going out for the evening and returning very late, we discovered the room was very cold, and turned up the thermostat. The heater did not seem to produce much heat, and the fan was really noisy. We finally turned it off at about 2 AM. Breakfast wait staff very friendly and attentive. January 15, 2014

Max - who took care of us in the bistro was so friendly and attentive. He is an asset to this establishment. I would definitely - return there for dinner. It was delicious! Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Clean room and good service This is an old hotel that has been refurbished many times. The most recent refurbishment is very good. The bathroom has very small toilet seats and there is something strange about the sink in that the water shoots out with great force, so you must be careful. Since the building is an old design, the room have windows that open into the hall. Therefore you must keep your curtains closed all the time, as anyone walking by can look in. This makes the rooms very dark during the day. Overall, I have stayed here many times, and will continue to do so. January 6, 2014

Everybody, especially Brian, go out of their way to make my stays great and you don't find that much anymore. The rooms are clean and new, not to mention very comfortable. I enjoy eating at the bar, as I am by myself when traveling...they have an really good menu and I would eat here every week if I was a local. Thank you for making every stay a great one! Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Hotel Management I had a problem with the room, the heat & tv did not work. I left the hotel manager a message to call, which he never did. I called again and the asst.. manager told me that next stay on Long Island I should look for another hotel to stay at next time I am on Long Island.!! He was very rude and blunt. Amazed at the lack of professionalize and poor Customer Service at this location. I was shocked, I will not be staying here again. I am a Priority Member also! December 9, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Like coming home I travel for work, this IHG property has just been COMPLETELY renovated and is gorgeous inside. The rooms and amenities are all new! These are probably the MOST comfortable rooms I stay in! I've returned monthly since finding this gem! One of the nicest features is the bar/restaurant.. I used to stay across the highway at another chain, one night that "other" chain may have screwed up my reservation and I ended up getting a room at this hotel.. I walked in and immediately could feel the warmth and friendship in the bar. I threw my bag in my room and returned to have a drink. I am sure glad I did, i was welcomed and felt that I had just sat down at my favorite local hangout!! if you stop here make sure to say HI to Christine!! Because of this hotel and Christine I am now a PLATINUM IHG member!!!! STAY HERE!!! December 5, 2013

AC/Heat, poor to adjust and get comfortable old looking, Noise in Hallways all night long. Food limited and not good. Bar prices very unreasonable. $10.00 for a glass of wine, I could by a bottle for 12.00. No announcements at the bar that happy hour ended, until you get the bill. Breakfast not good. Breakfast buffet was excellent as were the staff in the restaurant The Holiday Inn has been a main stay of Plainview for as long as I can remember. I've seen the changes to the hotel as it has grown over the many years as it looked out over Plainview. The value the hotel offers for the price you pay is second to none ! seems to be the best kept secret on Long Island. I look forward too trips back to NY and staying when needed at the HOLIDAY INN of Plainview. Thank you staff for another great stay ! November 2, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Nice with a view things that need attention Stayed here only for one night for a wedding close by. The hotel staff was nice, accommodating and helpful. My room was a non-smoking room but it smelled like people have been smoking in there for years. There was a sign in the bathroom that said it was a non smoking room but it's a movable sign so they probably put it in whatever room they felt like. When I turned on the heat, it just pumped out even more of the smell. Maybe they need to clean the heating vent, the smell was so strong that I turned the heat off and covered my clothes in the closet so they wouldn't pick up that stink. Other than that, the bed was clean and comfortable. Bathroom clean but there were ants in the corner.. I hate ants! The windows to the rooms seem backwards to me, looking out into the hall, the window is blacked out but when you look from the hallway in, you see the room and anything going on inside! Overall I recommend this hotel, just the few things irked me! October 30, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Uncomfortable and overpriced I spent a lot of money to essentially stay in a glorified motel. The way that the "hotel" is designed (a building inside of a building) made it so there was no natural light coming into the room. Furthermore, the room was so stuffy due to no fresh air available to even enter the room. The room was extremely dusty, I am allergic to dust, and this caused discomfort during my stay. Also I kept finding long black hairs in the room, one on the bed, and one on the towels. The lighting provided for the room was terrible. It is also appalling that a continental breakfast was not included. I have never stayed at a Holiday Inn, or any Hotel of this nature, that did not provide a continental breakfast. The staff was no very friendly or helpful. This "hotel" was a terrible experience, completely uncomfortable, and overpriced for what was actually offered. October 30, 2013
