Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Hotel on Long Island I cannot say enought about the hotel, it is very clean, the staff goes out of their way to serve you on whatever you may need. The location is great on Long Island, and not far from NYC. They just updated the rooms here and you will have a great stay at this hotel! Francisco, the front end Supervisor, makes sure you have anything and everything you need, "attention to detail" I recomend this hotel to all. A++ Platinum Member since 1989 October 15, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Decent value, but the view is terrible This hotel is a good value for the area, but the windows in all of the rooms face into the hallway instead of outside kind of a like a motel and it's extremely disorienting and dark in the morning because if you leave the curtains open to try to get natural light, anyone walking past can see into your room. Overall, everything else is fine, but I'd only recommend this hotel if you don't mind being in the dark all hours of the day. October 14, 2014

Temp in room was hard to control; told at check-in that breakfast ended at 11:00 and upon arrival at 10:40 most items removed. Girl on duty said breakfast ended at 10:30. Mildly annoying. We did get sufficent to eat however and coffee was hot and plentiful. Was not acknowleded as a Platinum member and not offered an amenities package. One of two rooms requested however had been upgraded which was appreciated. Business center printer was out of paper. Overall a reasonable visit and would visit again and recommend to others. Staff put a group of very loud partyers next to me, despite the fact that the hotel could not have been more than 40% full. Also, my room had a window direct to the hallway, so anyone passing by could look in unless the heavy drapes were completely closed. Room was very small and cramped. I am a platinum IHG rewards member and have come to expect much more from Holiday Inn over the years. October 10, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Terribel experience. To begin with the front desk was not very informative when we registered. We reserved 3 rooms for a family wedding at Crest Hollow on Saturday 10/4. We were not told the elevator was out of service until we were near the elevator with all of our bags and the maid told us it was out of service ...yet when my daughter's family arrived shortly thereafter she was able to use it and was told it was never out of service. One elevator for this whole complex is ridiculous anyway. My husband had a recent back operation and here he was having to lug bags unnecessarily all around the floors. Next our key cards did not work on the outside doors so when we returned after midnight we had to walk around the whole complex to reenter the motel although we were told maintenance was working on fixing I earlier in the evening before we left. We were rudely awakened at 4:00Am by a drunk pounding on our door... lost!!! At 7:00 the fire alarm woke the whole complex up and a strobe light flashed in our eyes for over 15 minutes while the front desk did not answer their phone as to what the situation was. So after coming home in the middle of the night from the wedding we were not even able to sleep....what a miserable experience. Also you should look into providing some type of mirror in the bathroom so make-up can be applied. The one over the sink is too far away. I would never recommend this motel to anyone I care for as even the bride and groom were embarrassed as to how their guests were treated. October 9, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Best stay while visiting CSHL The staff at this hotel are friendly and helpful, The rooms are clean and well maintained with good accouterments. The bed, while for some is probably very comfortable, was a bit soft for my liking. The only other issue I had was a tube that did not drain well and the shower curtain was too close creating a very narrow area. The owner of this franchise is very invested it creating a great experience for his customers. the staff seems to be trained to be personable and respectful. Whenever I am visiting nearby CSHL, I always try to stay at this Holiday Inn. October 5, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Short stay Upon arriving the hotel grounds were acceptable but on entering the room, the hallway rugs were in poor condition and not clean. The floors itself were pitched on an angle and strange to walk on. The rooms were sufficiently updated and all the amenities were very accommodating. The pool was not in operating order and very disappointing not to be able to use it. Internet connections are in need of updates. Thank you October 2, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Staff is always friendly Having to travel 3 legs of a flight from Dayton to Islip airport it was much reappreciated to recive a friendly welcome. Being just off of the Long Island Expressway make travel to Plainview simple. Question about local restaurants were handled with a smile as well as being accurate. I've stayed at the Plainview Holiday in over 10 times. If it is not broke don't fix it. September 22, 2014

Most of the rooms have twin beds making them good for families. Hotel lobby gives a spacious feel.On the flip side - swimming pool is a bit small and Conference room needs to have a projector though. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Wedding Stay We stayed at the Holiday Inn (8/30/14) for a wedding in the area. Upon check-in we were not given the "goodie bag" that was provided by the bride and groom and therefore we did not know the times of the shuttle or that a private breakfast was arrainged for everyone stayong over. When I asked at the front desk the morning after the wedding where the breakfast was, they told me there was no breakfast arrainged. I think the front desk should be aware of all the blocked bookings and what the host is offering. Aside from that, the room was clean and comfortable. The staff in the dining room went above and beyond for every need. September 3, 2014
