This hotel has undergone major renovations and appears to strive for continuous improvement in all aspects. The staff is Fantastic. Laura and Kelly at the front desk make check in a pleasure and always have a smile when you walk by. The bar has a great happy hour and food and the bartenders Ken and Christine are fantastic.It amazes me thier ability to remember customers name and drinks even if they havent been there in a while. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wow! It was a relief for my wife and me when we checked into our room for several nights at this H.I. Everywhere throughout the hotel was neat and clean. Our room, too, was quiet, clean and cozy, The bed was extremely comfortable with fresh linens. We wanted to be able to spend more time in the room instead of attending several of the planned family functions. We are looking forward to staying again at this HI now that we have family and friends on Long Island. Kudos to the entire staff for making our stay so positively memorable. February 2, 2013

The Hotel has been recently updated and an excellent job as been done. The staff is wonderful and go out of their way to do what they can to make you comfortable. The rooms are clean and modern and of average size. Keep up the great work and I'll see you during my next visit. January 18, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by last stay nice...this time around not so good I booked a room that was a non-executive level room and it was not as nice. The room was substandard, had very little amenities and the heater in the room smelled terrible when turned on. Further the carpet outside the room and the hallways were very dark and dingy. Compaired to the executive room the standard room is well below expectations. January 15, 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by i will never stay at this place again 1) dark low celinged rooms. felt like i was in a cave 2) front desk clerk couldn't even bother to turn around to answer my questions because he was busy reading a usa today (older caucasian guy# 3) while eating breakfast in their restaurant, a hotel employee was emptying an ash tray right in front of the window we were sitting at #i suppose she thinks she was watering the bush by dumping wet cigarette buts on it). we made it 100% clear that we thought that what she was doing was disgusting particularly while we were eating but she just ignored us. 4) does the manger or anyone ever occ roam the halls at night? ever?? every night there were screming children in the hallways. The rooms are practically brand new with great comfortable beds and large private bathrooms -- with the sink inside the bathroom. Would definitely stay again as a first choice when visting this area. The staff members throughout the hotel were kind and caring. The room was clean and smelled fresh. I had dinner at the restaurant and the food was absolutely fantastic. The room was both clean and comfortable.The menu in the restaurant was very upscale. The food items we ordered, especially dinner were prepared by a chef that deserves recognition. Not only were the dishes prepared to perfection, the presentation was beautiful. Would go back to the restaurant even if we were not staying there. November 17, 2012

From the palatial feeling you get as you enter the lobby, to the friendly, helpful staff, to the updated fresh, clean room ... this was one of the best experiences I've had at any Holiday Inn! It is obvious that the property has undergone major renovations / updates recently. The room felt modern and gave me a sense of value for the price I paid for the 2-night stay. The little details all added up, including having enough outlets to charge my phones, laptop, and other battery powered devices. The attractive and friendly female front desk associates were conversational and extremely helpful, even recommending a great local restaurant within a few miles of the property. I would definitely stay at this hotel again, and also recommend it to anyone staying in the vicinity of Plainview, NY. Thank you for a great experience! October 22, 2012

After some conversation with 800 holiday Inn they agreed to cancel HI in hauppauge with no penalty. A good resolution for us. October 19, 2012
