Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by enjoyed our stay The staff was courteous. Got a great room with the Priority Elite upgrade. Enjoyed the stay August 3, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A cmfortable hotel I was here for a conference, and it was a comfortable place overall. The bed was comfortable, the room was quiet and the air conditioning system was a bit noisy, but it kept the room at a good temperature. I never used the pool, so I can't rate it overall. The decor and ambiance was good overall. I had no problems with the on site wireless or with using the computers in the lobby to print up my boarding pass on Sunday, The hotel restaurant wasn't the greatest. The food was so so and a bit pricey for the overall quality. And the staff were very slow, even when there were few other patrons. It took them a while to seat us and to come round to take our orders. And I was lucky. One of my fellow conference goers had to wait almost an hour for her food. Again, the restaurant wasn't even terribly busy at this time. The coffee bar was decent, however, though it was a bit pricey. The only other down side, besides the restaurant, was the location. It was convenient to the airport, but there really wasn't any other restaurants or entertainment within walking distance. There was one unpleasant thing on Sunday. One of the rest rooms off the main lounge area had an unpleasant mess in it on Sunday. I told the person at the front desk about it, and he said he'd send someone to deal with it, but when I used it again later that day (I had checked out of my room by then and was finishing up the conference activities), the issue had not been taken care of. The staff were all pleasant and friendly, though, so overall, I more got the feeling that maybe there was a diffusion of responsibility, or maybe they had a bunch of new people or something. Still, it was a comfortable place to stay overall, and I'd recommend it overall. August 2, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Understaffed and Noisy Extremely Large hotel catering to large numbers of people due to airport location and conference center. Because of large size and number of customers, took too long to get waited on at Check In. Last thing you want after a long trip is to have to wait because property is understaffed. The floor I was on seemed to have parties going on in the Hallway. People visiting in the halls making too much noise, well past bedtime. Rooms are not quite at all. People slamming doors 2-3 rooms down will make you jump out of the bed! If you want a good nights sleep, this is probably not the Hotel for you! July 31, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Great people, dirty halls, non draining tubs Once able to get a person on the phone the shuttle and staff were great. The same Cheerios, scattered M&Ms, cups, glasses and silverware which were in the musty smelling hallways when we arrived in the evening were still there the next day. July 27, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Stay for my flight out Stay there the first time ,but Staff was great .Room was also Super It is just there is nothing around the Hotel . But will stay there again if i am in the area stefan July 26, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Satisfied Visitor The room was very clean and the flat-panel television was nice. The staff was courteous and catered to my requests. The bathtub made a strange squishy sound when you stepped in it. For the price I paid, I feel like there should be more amenities. The room did not have a refrigerator or microwave, though a fridge was brought to my room upon request. It would be nice if there was a continental breakfast. I have stayed at cheaper hotels that offered all these things. Despite my complaints, I am satisfied with the level of service I received, and the cleanliness of the room. I will stay there again. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Park and Fly PDX First stay at this hotel but needed the 30 day park/fly deal with is a good value. Rooms are quite comfortable even for family of 4 though the windows didn't open so the rooms were quite stuffy. A/C remedied one room but not the outer room. Bar closed at midnight so naturally heard the 'bar crowd' leaving out the backside where we were staying. July 18, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not so good. I generally try to stay at one of your hotels when available. On this particular trip at this hotel I have to say I was a disappointed. I am normally pretty easy to please. In this case the hotel is older, which normally isn’t an issue. However, I was asked if I want a room up high or low, and picked the higher elevation room. What I didn’t know is that I received a room on the end of the building nearest the busy street and nearby highway. It was loud all night due to the traffic. The older building allows the noise to penetrate easily. That in and of itself is part of traveling, I understand that. However, in the morning as I was showering and getting ready for the day the power failed to the entire facility. That was a pain as I had to finishing getting ready with no power in a dark bathroom, and then walk down (at least it was down) 7 stories. I had to get to the airport so I could not wait for the power to return. It was still out when I left. My overall experience at this hotel was poor, and I would never recommend this particular hotel to anyone, nor will I look to stay at this hotel the next time I am in Portland. I would like to ask for my money back due to the power outage. July 18, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by VPN unconnectable!! Two days at this hotel without any possibility to connect to my mail server via VPN. I called the hotel IT service center, but to no avail. the staff told me that this was a re-occuring event; they were however exceptionally efficient in resolving my problem by driving me over to the local Starbuck's where I could connect with no issue. Searching the web, I have seen that the problem has been reported by others as well. Being an international business traveller (and a Platinum Member!) , I need to be connected to the office constantly, so I don't think I will be staying here again. A pity: the rest of the hotel is just fine and the staff is helpful. July 16, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not what I expect from Holiday Inn This location seems older and in need of some updating. The front desk staff gave me the turnstile feeling, as if I was cattle to process. To the defense of Holiday Inn, I travel quite a bit and usually stay at more modern facilities so I may be a bit spoiled. The good thing is that there are other Holiday Inns to stay at in Portland. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 Outstanding staff We were there for a basketball tournament and had food brought in from the Olive Garden to feed the team. We had leftovers and Nick was nice enough to store our leftovers for us and let us use the employees microwave to reheat the food the next day. Jason saw to it that we had enough plates and silverware. They are two reasons we will consider staying here again if we are ever in the Portland area. July 14, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable stay, quiet and new The room was very comfortable. The only downside was that it did not have a small refrigerator or microwave which would have been nice since I stayed there for over a week. During my first stay there, they were remodeling the lounge area. It was finished just before I left, and it looks fantastic! The service at the lounge was fast and friendly. All of the food I tried there was excellent and they had several local brewery's on tap. There were a ton of kids on a field trip, a lot staying on my floor, but I never heard them while I was in my room. Overall a great experience. July 13, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Dirty toilet We arrived by plane at 11:00 pm. We had traveled all day and were very tired. We got to our room and began to settle in, when my wife discovered that the toilet had not been cleaned. The seat was dirty and there was fecal matter in the bowl. So, we called the front desk and asked to be moved. 15 minutes later key cards were brought for another room. It was a smaller room, but we were so tired & just thankful for a clean room & bed. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Accomodating staff Even though you may not be near most necessities, the shuttle staff will take you there in it the airport, MAX staion or shopping at the nearby Cascades. I also appreciated the access to the 8th floor hospitality room for Platinum Members. In addition, I had a package to be mailed and the front desk took care of taking the parcel to the post office for me. THANKS! July 6, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Service... the receptionist are not so friendly but the servers in the restaurant are very friendly, lots of smile, very pleasant, it feels like they love what their doing and enjoy talking to people. they said they been working there for 30years. I will not come back to ur hotel but i will continue to use other holiday inn express hotel. thank you.. July 5, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not a great stay at this Holiday Inn I arrived after an 8 hour train ride and chose this hotel because it was close to the airport for my flight home. As a Platinum Priority Club member I was upgraded to a suite. However the first suite smelled awful!!!! I called the Front Desk and they sent the Director of Housekeeping who arrived with a spray bottle. Not encouraging! I asked to be change to the Holiday Inn Express at the airport but there were no rooms, not even for a Platinum Member of Priority Club...first time I have ever encountered this! So the search was on for a cleaner, none smelling room. Finally found one with the help of the Manager on Duty. Front Desk personnel in the evening of the first night were in a word "hopeless". I informed them that my brother-in-law was coming to visit me at the hotel and to please ask him to call my room. Instead, after I informed the front desk personnel that I would not be in the lounge but in my room, the front desk personnel sent him to the lounge where he sat for ONE HOUR waiting for me. I finally decided to go to the front desk and have them call my brother-in-law's mobile found and this is how I found out he was in the lounge waiting for me. When I and my brother-in-law pointed out the error on the part of the front desk personnel telling my brother I was in the lounge there was no apology - just blaming someone else who had just finished their turn of work at the front desk. Some how the front desk and management of this hotel need to get their collective acts together.... This is the first and ONLY horrible experience I have had at a Holiday Inn. I have to say that the Manager on Duty the second day of my stay made a positive consideration to my bill - ONLY after I asked. The restaurant and bar folk were friendly and helpful! Thank you to them and that is far as my thanks will be extended. The food was okay... Will I ever stay here again at this Holiday Inn - in a word "NO" July 4, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Brief Stay This was a real brief stay being that we were flying out early the next morning, but it was good experience. July 1, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice room, great location We were happy with our adjoining rooms and the service we received. The location is perfect, close to the airport and our rooms were comfortable and clean. We will return again! June 25, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Place Please ignore my nickname "Offended Priority Member." This was in reference to a bad experience at a single location, not this property. The hotel is conveniently located near airport. Rooms are nice. Hopefully the construction/remodel of the restaurant and re-location of the lounge are near completion. Food is pretty good. My only knock on the place is that "wines by the glass" need improvement. I didn't think it was possible to get a bad Pinot Noir in Oregon. I stand corrected. The bartender asked what I thought of it, and I politely told her, "Not much." She offered a glass of something else, which I appreciated. So negative points for the Pinot, positive points for the bartender. June 25, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by EP Portland This is a large hotel which was booked almost full during the time of my stay. In addition, they were doing a major renovation to the bar and lounge. With all this going on the staff and the bartender, in particular were very courteous, friendly and helpful. The young lady who was the bartender was great and made a good bourbon manhattan!!! Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 Close to the airport We stayed at this Holiday Inn due to its close proximity to the airport. We didn't hear airplanes BUT we did hear trains which passed on a track very close to the hotel. Although the noise was somewhat disruptive during the night, it didn't make our stay unbearable. Staff was very nice. Bed was comfortable. Room was clean. Food was good. Must say, I've become spoiled by staying at hotels that provide a free continental breakast (which this hotel did not). They are currently remodeling the dining room, so we ate in the lobby. No problem there. Nice set up while the construction is going on. Wait staff was very nice. If we could take the trains out of the picture, this would be a great hotel. June 24, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Relax and do business I found this property an exceptional value. It had a restaurant which I did not expect, and being without a car made it very convenient for meals. The gym was not bad either. It had free weights but no high bar for pull-ups. Never crowded when I worked out. Location is very convenient for the airport and major transportation. All in all a very good value. I would stay here again. June 24, 2013
