Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Reverse Park & Fly We used this reservation to leave our car at Holiday Inn, fly out, spend five days, fly back, and then stay the night. We've already booked to do this again! Great value for the price, and we are more comfortable with our car in the Holiday Inn lot than in airport long-term parking. The Holiday Inn airport free shuttle is prompt and convenient. They even let us book two nights, because our return was uncertain, and then cancel one as soon as we knew. October 4, 2013

Beds were really comfortable, service i n the room was adequate Food was tasty, service was very good in both the restaurant and the bar. I will definitely return to this hotel in the future. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Too noisy with trains and dogs Very disappointed with our stay at this hotel. Room had a musky smell that didn't go away. Was not recognized as a Platinum member when checked in. Had howling dogs in next room for the first 4 nights then on fifth night was moved to a room high on parking lot side and trains sounded like they were coming through the room. We should have been informed there was a dog convention going on when reservation was made. Staff had no idea of anything local. I asked about a park to walk in and was told there were none around. But according to my GPS there were several around. The location of hotel is horrible. No places to eat close by except in hotel. I have never written a survey like this before. Most of my stays are pleasant at the very least but I will never stay at this hotel again. October 3, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointed I booked a room for 3 adults explicitly, also put in the request of 3 beds and marked late arrival in advance according to our flight schedule. I was expecting a roll away bed in place so that each of us could get a good rest before next day's travel. However, to my disappointment, when we arrived as scheduled, there was no roll away bed left for us! It was late at night, we were exhausted and need to leave early next morning, there's no other option but to take the extra bedding which is the only thing they could offer and one of us had to sacrifice and sleep on the floor. I was totally disappointed, Holiday Inn used to leave me good impression on their delicate service, especially in Hong Kong. Maybe this is just airport hotel, and they have sufficient clients from airlines, so that they don't need to treat their Platinum members well. October 2, 2013

Everything about the hotel is now thoroughly up-to-date. Dining atmosphere is very good and much improved. We will continue to stay at this Holiday Inn for all of our PDX based departures. Only con is the parking: there are two lots and both are ALWAYS full. If you check in or return after 9pm, expect to park and walk in a dimly lit lot far from the lobby. September 30, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great stay buffet good chef moody Hi there My stay was very good, great painting and a restful stay. Having the venders outside of the hotel is a bummer as it did rain and so did my wood purchases. The buffet was delicious.....scrumpsious, but the kitchen was not prepared for the amount of desert that 350 painting people can eat. Most people picked up desert after they got their food. Others like myself waited till I finished my meal. I was very surprised when there was 1 chocolate cake and 1 cheese cake placed out, I asked the man delivering them if there were more coming out? I was told that, that was it and they had to be defrosted as they had nothing left by a moody possibly grumpy man. I did get a very thin piece of cake as I had to share 1 piece of cake as there was not enough for everyone, but there were many that got no desert. September 25, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best Service Ever! From the reception clerks to the waitress in the restaurant, service was outstanding. I felt as if the waitress had become a friend. She knew I had a short time between classes and was prompt in serving my meal. She was accommodating in giving me a fresh ice tea to take to class in a to-go container. The young woman at the reception desk even carried one of my bags to the shuttle. The only reason I downgraded service was because it took the shuttle 30 minutes to pick me up from the airport. The food was very good. Everything was good from a pulled beef sandwich to a salmon dinner. Food was served quickly so that it was hot. The elevators were quick - which is important if you're rushing to a class and back to your room between classes. September 25, 2013

Our toilet overflowed at 6:00 a.m. - we called the desk to get some help and were told we would have to wait until at least 7:00 a.m. for an engineer to get to work. Getting it taken care of was totally rediculous - it was mid morning before it was done. We were told to use the bathroom by the meeting rooms. They had not been cleaned since the night before - no toilet paper or soap. I could go on and on about the way we were treated. We will not be staying there again. September 24, 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by bad food and no privacy in room I would never use this hotel again in the bedroom you are not able to shut your curtains they only have a shear curtain you can see right thru. its really weird. I chose this hotel because it has a restaurant and the prices are 15 to 20 dollars a plate so you expect good food maybe awesome food but NOOOOOO it was the WORST food I have ever seen or tasted I ordered the salmon with saffron rice and veggies the salmon was dry the rice was white bland rice and the veggies which were zucchini were cooked to snot slime so I asked the waitress which was very nice to fix my order I wish I hadn't done that because what came back was even worse they gave me broccoli that looked to be out of the garbage it was yellow brown hard and if you saw this you'd wonder why they would even bring it out. All and all very disappointed and would not recommend September 23, 2013

The motel also suggested a place to go for dinner and provided shuttle service. The place was called "Salty's on the Columbia" and the food was first class. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Hotel, But... I like this brand and the staff, food, and upkeep were fine. This hotel is situated in a bad location and has a funky layout in that you walk through a few hallways to get from the lobby to the elevators. The room I had was "okay", small but clean. In order to get in or out of the hotel you have to navigate some one-way streets. Although it sits next to the airport, its on the industrial side and I had to go a mile or two in the opposite direction to find one gas station where I could refuel my rental. I think the staff and management do a good job with the hand they are dealt. Whoever located and laid out this hotel did them no favors. September 9, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pleasantly surprised We stayed at this property last year when updating had begun. It was not the best experience .....different story this time! We arrived to set up at an event in the adjacent convention center and were amazed at the improvements. It is now Modern and clean and contemporary. But the best part was the staff and their great attitude. I was impressed with Jason who was in charge Of guest services & front desk. He was sharp, Looked sharp and expedited our transactions, He assisted the young woman who was updating Our membership information as well as correcting information On a stay at another Holiday Inn property. In the restaurant, Latitude 45, We had another positive experience. Aleah was there to greet us ... I remembered her From last years visit... But in a whole new updated restaurant. We had lots of questions about the menu, it wasn't busy so we felt Ok to take a little extra of her time. She checked with The chef on all our inquiries. We were impressed with the honesty of her responses and ordered accordingly. The next and unexpected visitor to our table was the restaurant GM. He chatted with us for quite awhile and thanked us for our Feedback and impressions about the layout. I wish I had written down his name... We want to say thank you to everyone. The sheets had not been changed A dog barked most of the night they finally went Down and fixed the problem after I canceled my Reservation for the next three nights and I moved To a different hotel. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Noisy I stayed at this hotel for several days and due to my Platinum status was upgraded to a suite. The room was across from the elevator (#205) and I think above the hotel laundry. Every time any of the 3 elevators moved it sounded like a dead-blow hammer hitting the wall. The hotel laundry sounded like jet engines starting up, and they continued until 10pm every day. I asked that I be moved to another room, but I was told that they were booked solid. Had it not been for ear plugs I would not have slept at all. They additionally changed the room rate at random even though nothing on their site indicates this. I will stay at the express about 6 miles from the airport from now on. August 28, 2013

Although our check in experience wasn't primo, all of the rest of the staff was cheerful, helpful, and very pleasant. The room was well appointed and comfortable. The restaurant's breakfast buffet was very fresh, appealing, and appetizing. It was also very reasonable. We also enjoyed the lunches and the conference accommodations. I would definitely return to this hotel. It is located close to two of our favorite restaurants - Salty's on the Columbia River and Beaches on the Columbia River. It is easy to locate and easy to reach other destinations. August 27, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice staff and good atmosphere The overall stay was good. We had a 2 room suite. The only problem we encountered was the sofa bed. When we opened it up to use it, we found that the sheets were dirty, soiled with food and particles. We called the front desk and they sent a security person up with clean sheets. I was a little upset that we had to change the bed ourselves and had to handle the dirty sheets. It was late at night; we had 3 kids with us and we had just gotten off a 6 hour flight. We also wished they had offered a continental breakfast, especially for the kids but they didn't. Other than that, it was very nice and the staff were very friendly. August 27, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not up to neighborhood IHG hotels I chose this IHG Holiday Inn due to its proximity to PDX airport. I would not stay again. The room was comfortable but had no refrigerator. All of the other regional IHG hotels have refrigerators. Then there was terrible service at the restaurant. I went for breakfast and because I didn't order the buffet (only wanted a bowl of cereal) I was ignored. After five minutes, I gave up, left my coupon and departed, I didn't bother going back for the next day either. August 26, 2013

I used the airport shuttle which is convenient, but when I called at midnight for them to come to get me, I had to call 4 times before someone took the call, then it took nearly 45 minutes for them to arrive. I was there by myself, so I did not appreciate having to wait. The check-in process took way too long, especially the night I returned after midnight. There was one person at the front desk and the phone continually rang during my check-in. He never answered it, so the person who needed him came to the desk where they had a several minute discussion about his issues with his room. The first night I stayed on the 3rd floor and the hallway carpet was in desperate need of a shampooing. The returning night, I was in a room very far from the front desk on the first floor, in a corner. I did not feel safe in this room as it was near the road and I had to use hairclips to close the curtains completely. The gym televisions did not work and I had to plug in the equipment. I avoided swimming in the pool after seeing the condition of the rest of the place. The beds were comfortable and the staff was nice, but everyone was very slow. Even the coffee counter took over 5 minutes for a latte. August 25, 2013
