Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Service the staff was of the highest caliber. The swimming pool was very warm, the hotel could use another washer and dryer. A few more Cape Breton post newspapers would be nice and they seemed to go quickly. The weekend entertainment was a great representation of Cape Breton talent. A few more handicapped parking places would be nice as well. August 25, 2015

This time while checking in the lady at the check in desk was rude and unhelpful. Bad attitude. The rest of the staff was friendly and helpful which made up for the young ladies attitude. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by LOST RESERVATION, TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE I booked through the Holiday Inn website for my first vacation in 18 years. They immediately charged my credit card for the full 4 nights I was staying in Sydney NS, and throughout the next few weeks before my stay, I received 2 confirmation emails, and 2 texts confirming my reservation. I even called to confirm they had it, which they said they could see my reservation. Great? GREAT! Well, I arrived at the hotel at 1 am, to find that they couldn't find my reservation, and the hotel was fully booked for the whole weekend. To add insult to the injury, every hotel/motel/B&B in the area was completely booked, and the front desk claimed that they don't charge my credit card until the end of the stay, so I was not getting a refund. 2 hours on the phone with a customer service rep where she stated "it's not her problem, and not Holiday Inn's fault", got me absolutely nowhere. They claimed it was a "computer glitch", and it was my responsibility to find a new place to stay. I ended up being able to sleep on a friends couch, and low and behold, the next day, they were magically able to "reinstate my reservation". (which earlier, was FULLY BOOKED?!?) Buyers beware, even if you book through the ACTUAL website and pay for a room, it doesn't mean you actually have a room... August 14, 2015
