From arrival right throughout the stay, they talk to you, smile, check how things are, etc. The hotel is very well maintained and is in crisp shape. It is located a prime location, waterfront next to the cruise terminal. June 29, 2015

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Terrible service -wrong billing The staff is so unprofessional. Took a long time to check in. The other staff just stood beside and did not help with check in. What's the point of having 2 staff? I used my points to redeem the nights. When checking out, they told me using points will not have a statement. I just trusted them. When I got home, there was 1 night charged to my credit card. This is obviously their mistake. I used my points to redeem for 2 nights and they took the points for the 2 nights from my account. Why would they charge me for 1 night? If you ever stayed in this hotel, please go back and check your credit card statement. There is a possibility that they charged to your credit card and you did not aware. Called the ihg customer service number. They opened a case and said they will get back to me within 48 hours. No call nor email received after 3 days. Called again, put me on hold from 1 agent to another agent. They said they will call back tomorrow. I doubt they will call back. There are many other hotels in Sydney, Nova Scotia. So, no need to stay at this hotel. June 15, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable Bed and good service We stayed for one night during a recent trip to the Maritimes. We were able to book rooms for our one night stay at the last minute as we were making arrangements on the go. We stayed in a King executive suite which was spacious with a good view of the harbour. The room exceeded our expectations. The bed was comfortable and the heating/air conditioning was quieter than many of the other places we stayed. The room was next to the elevator, although removed and there was no noise from the hallway whatsoever. We ate in the hotel bar and thoroughly enjoyed the staff - the bartender with his strong Cape Breton accent and personality provided great advice. The staff was friendly and accommodating.
