Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable bed and lovely big towels Overall stay was very good, staff friendly, rooms clean and comfortable, lovely deep bath and great towels. Heated towel rail didn't work and was loose on the wall, pillows flat and not very comfortable, but neither spoiled the overall stay. Downside was bar closed at 12 without warning, regardless of the fact that there were many guests still socialising in the lounge - on querying this, a fellow guest was informed that bar closed at the managers discretion and did not have to stay open even when residents wished to continue drinking... bit of a shock, especially to american group of visitors. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Nice hotel stuck out in middle of nowhere. And no fridge in room. This hotel exists solely due to the 4 mile proximity of Stonehenge, but there are so many other more interesting places you could stay in nearby towns. The hotel is a 30 minute walk from the unlovely village of Amesbury, stuck out on dual carriageway services, opposite a huge new warehouse distribution centre being built, with only Harvester, Pizza Hut and KFC as your out-of-hotel dining options. The rooms are actually quite small for a modern hotel and most annoyingly most rooms do not even have a fridge. The restaurant and bar are very good, with excellent food and service, but ultimately you are paying a high price for a location that is not needed; Stonehenge is still a 10 minute drive away and you could stay in far more appealing locations or towns not much further away. Good for an overnight stay but that's about it. July 3, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Late Check In We arrived at the hotel at 2.00am on our return from the Glastonbury Festival and decided to book a room for the night. The staff couldn't have been more helpful under the circumstances and checked our party in quickly and efficiently. The room was excellent and just what we needed July 3, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by reunion stay stayed here as it was close to Larkhill and they had done a deal with the Regiment. Very accommodating, even went as far as putting up our Regimental Standard when asked. July 2, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Friendly Staff and a Clean Hotel Great hotel, lovely and clean in a good location for visiting the various attractions in the area. We were greeted at reception by a cheery face and our whole stay was excellent. July 2, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great lounge service Great hotel, with dark curtains to help you sleep at night when it is still light out. Very comfortable and clean rooms. The only issue is that they do not have a fitness center, which on a long business trip I need to exercise a couple of days. July 2, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Lovely stay Very much enjoyed our stay at Holiday Inn Stonehenge. The rooms are very well appointed, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The staff were very friendly and efficient, and had a great knowledge of the local area. The variety of food served for breakfast was extensive. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beyond excellent ! My wife and I stayed at the Salisbury/Stonehenge Holiday Inn on June 19th. During the evening I became violently ill with a fever and uncontrollable chills and shaking. The staff arranged contact with a national health advisor and arranged for a cab to the hospital. When we returned the manager, David, arranged for us to stay an additional day on a very busy weekend. I partially recovered the following day, and the staff was very concerned about my condition, and when I say staff I mean the housekeeper, the reception personnel, the restaurant personnel, and especially the manager. They all treated me like family. Beside the excellent customer service the facility was top-notch in every respect. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone traveling to Salisbury/Stonehenge. The corporate Holiday Inn senior personnel should be very proud for the facility and the best customer service I have ever encountered. June 26, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Overnight stay at Solctice Hotel On Our way to my Son's Gay Wedding wishing to break the journey was a great idea to do this. Also if you are going on to Devon or Cornwall as we love using the A303 its such a wonderful road very picturesque. I personally hate the M5 but of course we had the time, it was only 37 minutes longer to where we were going than taking M5, but of course Stonehenge can be really busy you just takes your chances there.. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Enjoyable stay let down by early check-in charge. We enjoyed our stay, as indicated in the ratings above. However, we were part of a large wedding party who were being picked up at 1pm. We were aware of the 3pm check-in but on arrival at 12 noon we were informed that our room was ready, great we thought as we could now get changed in comfort, to then be told that we would have to pay £20 for the privilege! This seemed petty and expensive. If our room was simply not ready yet, that would have been perfectly fine, but to be told that it is ready but it would cost us 25% more to use it early did not make us feel like valued customers. In this instance we did pay the extra money but it would definitely put us off choosing Holiday Inn for similar occasions in the future. June 20, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Informative staff and great service Booked 6 months in advance and paid up full amount and got a great discount. Stayed one more extra night as the location was very close to several tourist areas and also London. Lots of free parking. Staff very helpful and the restaurant was excellent. Get the breakfast included when booking as there is a great value and excellent choices. Would stay there again next time we travel to the UK. June 19, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by poor customer service Charged my credit card £100.00 and have not returned it so far. Repeated calls to the reception and guest relations have not resolved the issue. June 19, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good comfortable stay. Very convenient for us on the way to Cornwall. Nice and close to A303.This facility was first class and we will return when travelling to Cornwall again. June 14, 2014
Merci, Erich S June 13, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good hotel - pity about location Hotel is good with fine restaurant and bar facilities and friendly staff but let down by its location and the lack of fitness facilities. The hotel is convenient for Stonehenge and being just off the A303 is good for a stopover whilst travelling. However it is in the middle of a service area and with a large warehouse being built close by it does feel that you are in the middle of an industrial estate - which is a pity since it is in such a scenic area. If you have a room facing the A303 then you will be distrurbed by the noise from this busy road especially if its wet. The lack of a gym and distance from town means this hotel is ok for a one night stopover but not one I would use for longer regular visits. June 9, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by WIFI Internet STILL not available. Even though WIFI internet has been promised for some months now it still isn't available. This is the main thing that lets this decent hotel down quite badly. Rooms are comfy although don't expect to be upgraded as an Elite member of the awards program as its never happened to me yet, even though I stay here a lot, but apart from that the rooms are comfy, although the shower pressure not great. Food is of an acceptable quality when cooked correctly. I had raw potato the first day but the second attempt was very nice. Could do with one or two additional choices however. Disapointed I wasn't greeted as a Platinum member at this hotel yet again though, even though it was on the booking form and I was given the same excuse as several times before about new staff in the back office. This hotel must have a large turnover of staff the amount of times this excuse has been used. June 9, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by lovely and comfortable hotel Loved staying here, very comfortable and fresh.would highly recommend to future travellers. June 7, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very good stop-over location Great place to break a journey between Cornwall and London / Souith East. Staff were friendly, food was excellent - but could do with some gym facilitiers / swimming pool June 4, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great stay with only 1 slipup I enjoyed my stay at Holiday Inn Salisbury - Stonehenge immensely. The check -in was quick, efficient and pleasant and the front desk staff were helpful and eager to answer any questions I had. The room was spacious and great value for money with a pleasingly modern design and a brilliant view. The only drawback of the entire stay was the evening meal. Booked a table as suggested and was greeted warmly and shown to my table in the impressive restaurant. However, after that the service took a severe downward turn. The waiter took 20 minutes to take our order and a further 10 minutes to return with our drinks. The starter was delicious after the close to 40 minute wait but we didn't see the waiter again until he cleared our starters away. It was another 30 minutes before we had our mains which had a slight error which didn't bother us at all, except for the attitude of the waiter who didn't actually apologize for his mistake. Unfortunately, the main was not quite as good. I also had to go order another drink directly from the bar as I didn't see any attention from any of the many waiting staff for the entirety of our meal until I asked for the bill. I understand if the restaurant is busy and there is a lot to do however it would have been nice if we had just a casual checkup once in a while. Apologies for being a nagging nancy. Other than the disappointing service for our meal, everything else was excellent. June 4, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great for family stopover We pleased that Holiday Inn at Solistice Park were able to accommadate at short notice. The room was of an excellant quality with a comfortable, quite and clean high quality ensuite. Our two young children were well provided for. The only recommendation was the lack of food available for the buffet breakfast. Long waits for the cooked breakfast and slow restocking of the continental breakfast detracted from our stay. However, the waitor staff were freindly and helpful. May 27, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Fantastic service in restaurant and bar Stayed here with my husband and 5 year old ate early staff very helpful and polite in restaurant food was fresh and good April 16, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Changes I have stayed in this hotel many times and generally used this as a gauge as to how good other hotels were, alas how things have changed. On arrival, informed we were early and to go until the 3pm check in time, this has never happened before. :-( Eventually permitted to go to the room, being informed we "should be able to pick up the WLAN" It appears after speaking to staff that the wiFi will not be available throughout the hotel until next year. We can use cable for internet access, not exactly helpful if working with an apple devise or tablet. However, we were lucky enough to have a room with limited WiFi, limited being the operative word. I ended up having to use my phone's personal hotspot to gain access of sufficient quality to undertake the work I had to complete. On booking we had the breakfast and dinner option, a pity this had changed from being able to just book breakfast. Anyway, the first evening meal went without a problem, the food was good as was the service. The second evening meal was alas not so smooth. Placed the order and waited, we were looking to have a 3 course meal. The first starters arrived and we waited for the soup ordered for my wife, and we waited and waited. No staff ventured near nor were observant of requests to attend the table. Eventually I had to go to them - "oh we are sorry, we will check with the chef" another 5 minutes and eventually it arrived and was very nice. Then to the main dish, my wife had chosen the game bird, alas it was overcooked and parts totally inedible. Not a good experience and a great disappointment. The breakfast buffet was at least of the same standard as normal and a great way to start the day. Food quality and variety was good. The bar area is apparently due for a refurbishment, again next year until then there are areas in desperate need of it. Alas the neighbouring business park has a new structure which will dwarf the hotel and soil the view. Not under control of the hotel but still a shame. However, it still offers easy access to Stonehenge, Woodhenge and Old Sarum to ahem but a few. it is my hope that this was but a one off and future stays will again be as my previous visits where all was 5 star. On my last visit, I broke my leg, not at the hotel, but the staff went out of their way to help which reflected the norm for all my previous visits. April 4, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best Holiday Inn This has to be the nicest Holiday Inn I've ever stayed at. The staff was wonderfully pleasant and polite. The rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable. And the property was a great location to check out Stonehenge and other attractions in the area. We enjoyed our stay so much we decided to stay another night. April 3, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Relaxing We booked in advance for just one night. Check in didn't take long, and when we were given door cards - found out we had the same room that we stayed in last year! My daughter and family live near by, so we didn't have any food - just a couple of drinks in the lounge in the evening. Very good quiet nights sleep, especially as there's a busy road is just outside. The only downside was I forgot to take a hair brush or comb and couldn't buy one anywhere ! Not even in the shop near-by. April 2, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Summary of Stay 1. Check-In was very efficient, polite and friendly. An upgrade to Executive Suite was offered and gratefully accepted. 2. The room was clean and tidy. 3. No Welcome message was displayed on the TV as it had been switched off at the wall. It took some time to decipher the instructions for the TV remote control as the remote provided was not the model to which the instructions referred. This was reported to the front desk on check-out. 4. My wife and I had a cup of tea in the lounge. Tea was served on a glass-topped table which should have been wiped to remove tea stains and crumbs. The steward should have been more thorough. 5. Access to the shower controls was an ergonomic disaster trying to negotiate the glass shower door and reach the shower head. Having done so there was no hot water so a shower was out of the question anyway!. On reporting this fault to the front desk it was understood that this was a known fault with Room 102. 6. The loo roll holder is sited inconveniently low. 7. The STAIRS notice needs to be displayed more prominently. 8. Breakfast was good but table clearance service was non-existent. 9. Overall - the overnight stay was spoiled by lack of hot water, poor attention to table cleanliness in the lounge and slack service at breakfast. April 2, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by in bed, etc In beds not very very comfortable & not sleep well breakfast is ok but need plate bit more warm and not like coffee is horrible tasty but right place that all!! March 23, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent dining delivered by highly dedicated and skilled staff Where this hotel stands out is with the quality of the restaurant. If you stay here dont' bother going out of the hotel because the quality here is great and fantastic value. From the three nights I stayed all the 3 breakfasts and evening meals were excellent. I think the chef must be at a higher end of the proffesion as the food was beyond my expectation in terms of quality and individuality. March 17, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Location driven I always find most of the front desk staff attitude difficult when staying here, there seems to be very little of the helpfulness I have come to expect at IHG hotels. My stays here have been location driven but this was my last stay as I will be looking further afield. The lack of gym and expense are the final aspects that weigh against this hotel. March 9, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fantastic Room and all round great service I booked a weekend stay at this hotel due the quality experience we had in the past. We booked a executive room which offered inclusive breakfast and dinner package. The menu was great because of its variety and fresh delivery. The bathroom had a large bath/shower facility which was clean and very spacious. The King size bed was clean and soft. I proposed to my girl friend so this environment was perfect for the atmosphere I required. She said YES :) February 26, 2014
