The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was very nice. The airport shuttle driver was very nice as well but a bit slow getting to the airport to pick me up. This is the second time I have taken the shuttle from the airport to this hotel and both times, it took at least 1 hr after I called to get from the airport to the hotel. It seems to be due to the bad traffic in the late afternoon. So, 2 shuttles would help cut that time in half. I was waiting there long enough to see the other hotel properties shuttles come by 2-3 times before this property showed up. My first phone call (after I had my luggage in hand) was at 7:10 pm.. They told me he would be there on the half hour which would have been about a 20 minute wait.. At 7:50, I called the hotel back and they told me that he was on the way. He showed at around 7:55. Then we made multiple stops and we finally made it to the hotel at around 8:20. The front desk told me that there was only 1 driver which is why it took so long. To me, this is UN-acceptable. a 30 minute from the airport to hotel trip seems fair....but 1 hr 10 minutes seems a bit long, especially after a long day of work / travel.
I will continue to stay at an LAX Holiday Inn brand hotel, but I am a bit hesitant about staying at this property again due to the slower than normal shuttle service.
Even though the shuttle was slow, the driver was very nice and professional.It just appears that the airport shuttle service is under staffed at this hotel..

Hands down my preferred hotel near LAX. I appreciate everything about the hotel, the location, room accommodations, and all of the staff: maintenance, housekeeping, food services, front desk and the general manager!

Our overall experiende is still good, but
1) in the San Diego Holiday Express Inn we got our package with a bottle of water and more (feb 19, 2014) and here they say this service ends feb 1.
2) you can better ask for a room with a view on the parking places (avoid streetnoise from Manchester)
3) The next morning, a paper om the frontscreen of our car. "our vehicle is illegallig park". The staff did n't mentioned it at check-in ......

I have stayed in this Holiday Inn Express twice in the past year and was disappointed both times. The parking is barely adequate and a parking pass is required to park there. This means once you check in you have to walk back to your car to put the pass on the dashboard. If you are carrying bags this is quite an inconvenience.
The staff did not seem overly welcoming and did not tell me anything about when or where breakfast was to be served.
When you step into the elevator is smells really bad. I couldn't tell if it was the machinery or body odor but either way it was unpleasant. The hallways also smelled unclean and poorly ventilated.
Inside the room smelled so bad I could barely stand it. It smelled like burnt hair and burning dust and was uncomfortably warm. The floors were dirty and the bathtub had stains. The shampoo bottle was half water, I'm assuming the previous guest refilled the shampoo with water for some reason although I don't know why they would.
Overall, this hotel had a very cheap feel to it. The atmosphere was tired, dirty, and uninviting. There are plenty of nicer hotels near LAX in this price range.

We've stayed at many Holiday Inn Express Hotels...pretty consistent..this one, however , felt cheap.
The room was really hot...had to have the air on all night..
on our 2nd stay I noticed the bathtub was dirty on the outside..and the room was dusty on the first stay...housekeeping needs a refesher course
