When they asked why we were there, I said it was our anniversary & we had not been to Abilene before. I thought they could have at least given us an upgrade to a big suite for that recognition, the place was not full. Otherwise, all was good. March 13, 2015

Soap deposits around the sink, etc The bathroom is always the weak spot for poorly run establishments. Staff friendliness was average with no recognition of my Rewards participation. Recommendation for dinner turned out to be closed (Sunday night or permanently was not obvious). March 7, 2015

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Holiday Inn Nightmare The first impression that I received at checking was that this property doesn't recognize it's IHG card holders. I had to ask for a bottle of water and there were no cookies set out. Next I check out the dining room to see if I could fix a cup of coffee but most machines had out of order on them or were bolted to the floor. I felt sorry for the desk clerk she could hardly stay awake and yawning uncontrollably. She did let maintenance know that the toilet in my room was wobbly. I returned from my business meeting and was advised by the front desk that my room was closed for repaired and they would look for me another. Amber and Chad checked out another room for me and so I unpacked my medication, insulin and slippers. Then left the property for dinner. Upon returning I realized that my key would not open the door to our room. It was after 11 pm and what had happened was that Chad had checked out our room to another party. Oh but wait with my insulin and slippers still in the room. It was after 11:45p.m. when we were finally given another room. Of course Chad did not apologize for ruining our stay but Amber told us that she would tell the general manager what happened and that he would call us in a day. I'm not really a picky person I just expect what I pay for and the third room had hair under the coffee pot, on the bad and coffee table that did not belong to me. The following day [I slept in after such a horrible experience] went to the dining room for breakfast around 9:20a.m. Most Holiday Inn offer breakfast until 10 and have a variety of breakfast foods. All that was left in the prepared foods were 2 egg omelets and turkey sausage. Even the maintenance man mentioned to the hostess that she was out of somethings. Finally (at approx. 9:45) since the hostess never showed up I asked if I could get some sausage links. It was after 10 a.m. and I asked again the hostess about the sausage links and she said that she was getting them Several minutes later she brings out the sausage links and I asked her how long it takes to cook precooked sausage anyways. The entire stay was an awful experience. The general manager never did call me. Don't know if he got the message or not. So after 3 days I called him. He was able to discount half of my ticket since I had stayed there. He would have given me a complete refund if I had not stayed. March 3, 2015
