Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Extremely Rude and Unacommodating Staff DO NOT STAY HERE! Took our baseball team to state tournament last weekend. When we booked we were given a certain group rate. Got there to check in and three families got the rate and the remainder of us were given a much higher rate. We were told the person who quoted us the rate was not authorized to do so!!! REALLY! That was our fault? While talking to the manager via telephone we were called liars. He informed us the lady we had talked to and made the reservations with wasn't even working at the time we said we called!!! REALLY!!! Never been so insulted in my life! Then on check out day they decided to charge even more for the last night! Wrong!!! I have never been so disappointed in a company EVER! I have been a priority club member with Holiday Inn for years because of their customer service. NOT anymore! I'm through with them and will make sure the teams in our area know how we were treated by Holiday Inn Express 2806 Wolflin in Amarillo! Lost our teams business for sure! June 10, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice room and outstanding staff My wife and I stayed on the night of 28-29 May, as a result of our outstanding experience of our stay on our way to Wylie TX the previous week. Again, the stay was outstanding in every regard. We wish to express our highest regard for the desk and housekeeping staff for a wonderful stay. We extend our special appreciation to the people who were on duty during the tornado warning that occurred that evening. Kayla, Sarah, and Mark were the finest representatives of your organization that you could hope for. We deeply appreciate and admire their professionalism in their care and concern for the guests during that time. They followed proper safety protocol and common sense procedures during the entire event in spite of what must have been their deep concern for their own families in other parts of town. This included knocking on each door and making sure that each guest was informed of the danger and directions to immediately go to the first floor and go into the hallways away from windows. We also express our appreciation to Belinda for her outstanding food service, and to Dawn for the friendly, speedy and efficient checkout procedures that provided that nice, personal touch on the termination of our stay. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Another Very Nice Stay I typically stay at this hotel when I am in the area on business. The staff are very friendly and the hotel is centrally located. The beds are always comfortable and relaxing. They did add a fresh fruit bowl to their breakfast staples, which was a very nice addition. However, they did not offer it every day of my stay. I think this should be added as a daily item as it is a healthier option to the regular egg and sausage/bacon items. The noise in the hallways can be a bit loud at times, especially when there are kids running up and down the hallways and people slamming their doors instead of gently closing them. Granted this is not a hotel issue but rather a common sense, inconsiderate, people issue. June 3, 2013

Rooms were very nice, very clean. Definitely recommend. Location is great also, easy off freeway and Texas Roadhouse right across parking lot, so you don't have to get in the car to go to dinner. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Amazing customer service! We had to change our reservation from the Tucumcari HIE location to Amarillo at the last minute due to a change in travel plans. The front desk receptionist took care of all the changes while we were driving from Flagstaff to Amarillo-we didn't have to call multiple locations or the corporate number. In addition, we had a floral delivery at the Tucumcari location and the Amarillo and Tucumcari HIE staff worked with us to pick up the delivery in Tucumcari on the way to Amarillo, and they also helped put it in our car for the long drive back to Dallas. Many, many kudos to the wonderful teamwork and excellent customer service of the HIE staffs! May 6, 2013

Management takes very good care of the property everything looks clean and new. Enough plugs in the room for gizmos. Day and night desk staff really nice and knowledgeable. Will use again. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Stay We have occasion to stay at this Holiday Inn Express quite often and always have a comfortable stay. The facility is well kept, clean and up-to-date. The staff is always friendly and helpful, their customer service gets a big thumbs up! On this visit we were in the “spa room”, and just like all the other rooms, it was clean, roomy and comfortable. There are numerous other hotels/motels in the Amarillo area, however, for the value, comfort, safety, convenience and customer service, this is by far at the top of the list! Not a big fan of the “canned” breakfast items but the fresh fruit, yogurt and chocolate milk are always a hit! We will be staying here again and continue to recommend this facility. April 14, 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by TOO EXPENSIVE FOR CHEAP SERVICE Stayed here for my husbands birthday. Nothing extraordinary. The front desk clerk had no charm. not rude but not nice either. I thought if I am going to pay a lot of money it will be worth it. It wasn't. The room was okay. Too simple for what I paid. The day after I found out on my bank statement I was charged an extra $20. When I called to ask the desk clerk told me it was because of a "pre-incidental" charge (which there were no incidentals in my room). Well I was NEVER in any shape or form made aware of such charge. I did not even get an apology for at least not telling me. I did get my money back but I should not have to deal with this in the first place. NEVER GOING BACK.! April 4, 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by not getting room cleaned We arrived late after 8 hours of driving- we were very tired. Checked in- put all items on cart- went up to the 3rd floor-wrong room. I had requested two beds- so we had to go back down and change rooms. The next day, housekeeping came while we were showering- I said we were leaving soon- so come back- they NEVER came back, Our room was NOT cleaned the first day. The NEXT morning while we were eating breakfast- I went to the front desk- and said our room was never cleaned, would they do it now as we were leaving, but had to get back before noon to get ready for a wedding. NO ONE EVER CAME!!!! We got back at 11- and the room had still not been cleaned. I insisted that someone clean it right now, as we needed towels and the trash cans were full. I speak Spanish, and understood what the cleaning staff said- she told what must have been the woman in charge that we did not want the room cleaned!!!!! Who would NOT want their room cleaned- I started speaking Spanish, and told her what REALLY happened. It got cleaned as I STOOD there. No one apologized- or explained what went wrong. At checkout the girl asked if everything had been ok- I said NO- one of the worst experiences ever. She then asked " Is there anything we can do?" Not at checkout with the car parked and ready to go. I said it's a little late- why didn't anyone try and do something when we had the problem. This is not a very well managed establishment and the reason I never choose Holiday Inn on my own. The only reason we stayed here was because it was chosen by the wedding party. March 25, 2013

It has added a bowl of diced fruit which includes cantelope and pineapple. Most rooms have a small fridge and a microwave. If you work in the room, it may be tough getting enough light at the work table. There is a great selection of restaurants within 2 miles of the property. March 21, 2013

We were recognized as club members at check-in and we were told we had been upgraded to the Presidential Suite as a courtesy. Well we have NEVER stayed in such a beautiful suite and we almost exclusively stay at Holiday Inn Express hotels. We stay at this particular location every year as we drive to Phoenix, and we've always loved it. It's very clean and convenient, and has a Texas Roadhouse right across the parking lot. But this was so special!! We're still talking about it a week later!! Thanks, Amarillo! What a wonderful surprise after a LONG day on the road!! February 27, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very Good Hotel This was my second time staying at this particular hotel in Amarillo. The staff are always very friendly, although, the clerk seemed to be a bit overwhelmed when I checked in. He had three people waiting in line and was not quite as attentive as I have experienced before, but still was pleasant. The hotel is clean and nice. I do wish, as with most hotels, that the walls were more insulated and I don't quite understand why people have to let their doors slam when they enter and exit their rooms. I heard the person in the next room as they closed doors and drawers and scrapped against the wall, I suppose looking for an electrical outlet and having to move furniture. I would like to see more to the breakfast bar. It is the same for all Holiday Inn Expresses and I travel a lot so I get tired of the same thing for breakfast every morning. It would be nice to have perhaps fresh fruit bowls and hot oatmeal or ham even. Overall, this is a very pleasant hotel and I will most likely stay there again unless I find a better Holiday Inn in the area that accepts my low government rate. January 30, 2013
