Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not bad I reserved a jacuzzi suite for a romantic getaway for me & my fiancé. Staff was super friendly and always spoke as we walked past. The room was very spacious and the bed was very plush. The jacuzzi was perfect. The only issues we encountered were that housekeeping did not vacuum, dump our trash, and did not provide us with any replacement washcloths or towels during our stay. After a call to the front desk, a housekeeper quickly arrived with washcloths and towels. I found these issues to be minor, but my fiancé was very bothered by it. Express breakfast was good though!! Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable, affordable and accessible I enjoyed my stay at Holiday Inn Express Ashland. My room was comfortable, especially the bed. Internet access was simple and strong. Breakfast was surprisingly bountiful, although I wish bacon had been available. Check in/out was quick and efficient. All staff I encountered were friendly, informative and helpful. My only disappointment was that my confirmed room (smoking) was changed 7 days later; I was moved to a suite In another area of the hotel. Hours before my arrival time, I received a call that my room had been changed to a king room closer to an exit. February 4, 2014

She was so helpful with directions to St. Anne's Church and finding a Holiday Inn in Brunswick, Georgia for the next night of our trip. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not the best Positives: easy check in, close to the highway, adequate parking. Negatives: left-over peanuts on the nightstand from the guest before, carpet needed vacuuming, toilet was the shortest one I have ever seen-it didn't even come up to my knee, and I'm not that tall, there was only one bedside lamp, granted, when I called the front desk to report it, I was offered another room-my choice not to take it but it was 10:00pm and we had been driving 14 hours so packing back up and moving did not appeal to us. HIExpress is typically my hotel of choice, I don't think I'll choose this particular one next time since there are many in that area. January 1, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by November I recently stayed at this hotel and found it to be extremely clean with just one small exception. The lady that checked us in was extremely pleasant. I wished I had written down her name so that I could write it here, but we checked in Saturday November 23, 2013 around 5:30 pm. Because I am a rewards member, we were upgraded to a suite which proved to be a great experience and gesture. We reserved two rooms as my sister-in-law had her children with her and they too loved the upgrade to the suite. The hotel was very quiet for a Saturday and that was extremely nice as we had been on the road for a couple of hours, but on a soccer field for several hours so we were all tired. I have stayed at several hotels in the area and this was by far one of the best. November 27, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good but had a few minor maintenance issues Had a nice stay. Got upgrades to a suite as a rewards club member. Bed was extremely comfortable. But the room needed some maintenance. Had one burned out light bulb, the toilet paper holder was not secure and I nearly pulled it out of the wall. The exhaust an in the bathroom was useless. Probably needed to be cleaned out. And most importantly the top privacy lock on the door was missing. had a deadbolt so we did feel secure. But not sure how nobody ever reported the missing lock. Breakfast was good. Typical of Holiday Inn Express. November 19, 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Lost camera I forgot to take my camera out of the room when we checked out and I feared that it was lost forever. My children and grandchildren gave it to me for Mother's Day a few years before. There was more sentimental value than dollar value, so I was pretty upset. I called the hotel and nothing had been reported. A few days later I received a call that it had been found and turned in by Jessica in housekeeping. I am so grateful to Jessica! Every one talks about how bad things are in this world, but I want every one to know that there are still wonderful people out there. You never know when you are going to need an angel and Jessica is surely one of them, JW October 21, 2013

They even helped us with our next day's travel plans. We were upgraded to a suite which was very quiet and spacious. Bed was comfortable and breakfast in the morning was tasty. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by GREAT LOCATION - BETTER PROPERTY! Stayed in Ashland for a visit to Kings Dominion; it was literally 7 miles and 10 minutes from the park! The front desk staff upon check-in was professional, the lounge and breakfast area were clean. Swimming Pool was adequate, the work out room was brand new and spotless. The location is great, near several chain restaurants but additionally it was close to downtown Ashland with great little shops and local bars/eateries. THE BEST PART WAS THE ROOM! - It was huge, had a fridge, microwave, cabinet area, flat screen tv and a desk for work. I will be back here for the Richmond NASCAR race next year without a doubt! Our company had a family day at an area amusement park and I decided to make it a weekend vacation for the family. The King suite was very spacious and large enough for my wife and two children. The staff was great. The pool and hot tub were clean, working, and stocked with clean towels. The breakfast food was fresh and well stocked. The eating area was clean, and organized with a very friendly hostess. All in all a great stay and a hotel I would recommend to anyone and look forward to returning to again next year! It is a great location, right off 95, for our mid-way travels from SC to NJ. Love the King Suite - after being on the road for 7 to 8 hours - it is great for each of us to split up and unwind watching our own TV's. See you again soon! September 22, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Services and Condition This HIE is a little behind times as far as the interior of the rooms, including the bathroom. But the staff made up for any negatives. The front desk personnel were great. The Maids were exceptional. The only thing that got my attention was the hours for breakfast. This was Race Weekend at RIR. The number of folks in the breakfast area were larger than normal, therefore the hours were not long enough (6:30 to 9:30) to handle the crowd. Extending the hours on potential high volume weekends would be great. Overall, the stay was great, the staff were excellent, room service exceptional. I would recommend this HIE to anyone looking for a great place the relax and enjoy their time. September 11, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fantabulous! I have to say that this was a perfect stay. First time ever taking my son to a NASCAR race the hotel was important for its proximity, price and cleanliness. I got all of that and MUCH more! First off the staff accommodated my early check-in because my little one wanted to swim before heading to the race. Secondly, the gentleman at the front desk was genuinely friendly. He spoke with my son which is super important to me because he has autism. I'm not even sure if the desk clerk knew it he just talked so nicely to him. But it was important to me! The hotel was clean, the breakfast very hearty and plentiful. The pool was just right not too big or small. The hotel is nestled amongst a variety of restaurants. It was perfect and I thank the entire staff for making my first time away with my son a memorable one. I'd definitely stay again! September 11, 2013

I called the hotel early Friday morning and explained my dilemma and was so pleased they were able to change my reservations without any problems. We were met by a very kind gentlemen at the front desk who was friendly and gave some helpful tips for our travels the following day. He offered to look up our IHG # since I didn't have it on hand and was cheerful even at the late hour. He was still working as we departed the following day with the same positive attitude. We called the Holiday Inn since they were close to us and discovered they were full since they are so close to Kings Dominion. We explained or predicament and they helped us out. We got a nice room at a great rate. The next morning, we were on the phone with AAA and repair shops and the staff continued to be helpful and sympathetic. We really appreciated them. August 12, 2013
