Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Service The Desk Clerk Taylor was friendly, energetic, knowledgeable and helpful. Especially after the storm knocked out power to the entire area. She continued to check in late arrivals, answer questions and help guests. Taylor kept a calm and relaxing demeanor during the blackout, talking with guests and assisting them throughout the night. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by My port in the storm After driving through a severe thunder storm accompanying a near by tornado, I arrived to find the Ashland VA Holiday Inn Express without power but with a front desk staff ready to honor existing reservations even though a flashlight was required to conduct business. The ladies behind the desk had downloaded all reservations before the storm and were ready for the weary guests. They offered lemonade, glow sticks and escort service by flashlight to me. Despite the fact that the loss of power prevented the air conditioner to function, the room was cool and the bed extremely comfortable. The full breakfast buffet in the morning was managed by Tracey, who greeted each guest warmly and worked the room to find out if there was anything more that she could get for everyone. Very nice people who helped diffuse great anxiety resulting from severe weather conditions. June 20, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Enjoyable and Relaxing We only spent a night as it was stop over on the way home. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. As we were from out of state they told us about the local stores and even made some recommendations of restaurants. The pool and spa area was very clean and enjoyable. If we are in the area again we would definitely stay here again. June 17, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great hotel When we arrived at the hotel we were a little concerned because the parking lot was full so we thought it might take us a bit to check in and weren't sure how much food would be available for breakfast or if the hotel would be loud at night. No worries on any of those. We checked in with no delay, slept great and there was plenty of food thanks to the delightful hostess. She knew a lot of the people staying there were there for a Tough Mudder event and made sure breakfast was ready early and was plentiful. She was well prepared for the large hungry group! Check out was simple, taking only a moment. We weren't there long enough to enjoy all of the amenities but can vouch for the cleanliness of the hotel and polite, helpful staff. June 15, 2016
