Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by a little misleading but STAFF was GREAT!! I was a little mislead not sure by who HOliday Inn or the Heat Wave association. When I reserved room I was under the impression that shuttle service would be provided to the show..however it was not :(.. The elevators were broken for the majority of the time and of course there were no more rooms available on the first floor...The lack of shuttle and elevators being out of order were made up by the employees..The young man was very polite and hear me out with all my concerns, comments and questions.. (If he was fed up with me he never showed). The head of the room service was also exceptionally friendly and I appreciate her talking with me. She too expressed concern for her staff who would have to be taking the stairs..thats cool that she thinks of her staff and not just herself..She was very encouraging in telling me about the modifications HOliday Inn would be making to this location and encouraged me to check back when it is all done and she reassured me that it would be really nice..I will definitely be checking in at this location again... Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Ok but very bad internet The room was comfortable but the internet was extremely slow and went in and out quite often. I do a lot on the internet so this was a big disappointment for me. My boss was traveling with me and he had the same experience as I did. The breakfast was one of those quick deals and was just ok. We stayed for 3 nights and opted to pay and eat elsewhere after the first day. July 23, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by A quick overnight stay - May 3, 2013 My wife & I were in Austin helping our daughter pack up her belongings for the summer. We had stayed at this hotel before and liked it very much. This visit was a little disappointing. Half of the light bulbs in the light fixtures in the room were burned out or missing. The lamp by one of the beds was broken. The bathroom door was extremely had to close. The alarm clock volume control was broken. Minor inconveniences and that is what I expressed to the staff member when she asked if we enjoyed our stay. With that, she offered to credit my PriorityClub account an additional 6,000 points for our troubles. Never happened... I reiterated all this on the post stay survey that Holiday Inn sent, but I did not receive any response to that. June 12, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A Bargin Yes the hotel is dated, but for the money compared to hotels in the area a real bargin. The front desk was outstanding, greeted me as a Platinum member and goodie bag. Asked for recommendation on where to jog outside the hotel and the front desk went as far as to drawn me a map, and even asked upon my return whether everything went ok. Nice touch at breaksfast, with the attendent walking by each table asking if you wanted juice,coffee refill or water, not seen this and any other Express but this location. May 24, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful stay We needed to stay in Austin for one night and were pleasantly surprised at the comfort and quality of this hotel. The service was excellent--they were quick to respond to a request for extra towels. Our room was wonderful! The bed was comfortable and the hotel was quiet. There is noise from the highway; however, with the air on, not noticeable. Great place for a stay in Austin that is close to downtown. We will stay here again. May 10, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Old and Worn Staff was good. Facility was tired and warn. Mattress was worn out. Visibly sagging. Uncomfortable. This is a motel -- most people come here to sleep. The condition of the bedding is a key measure of quality for lodging. Mold in the bathroom, tub surround and door frame. Cleanliness is a reasonable guest expectation and again a key measure of quality for lodging. Again, staff was good -- management needs to take action to refresh facility and replace worn out furniture and bedding. May 9, 2013

I am always greeted as a priority member, upgraded on occasion, and my room is always clean, quite and a great experience. Unfortunately I have back issues so it was uncomfortable for me, but my husband slept like a baby! The staff at the hotel was wonderful and the hotel was extremely clean and welcoming. What a great breakfast we had too! I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. I would even go back and stay again.... even with my bad back! May 3, 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointing I was very disappointed with this hotel. It is not up to the Holiday Inn Express standards. My room was noisy because it was on the first floor close to the parking lot and elevator. The carpet in the room was old and stained. The furniture was old and dumpy. The room smelled heavily of some type of perfume or fragrance. The shower was horrible because it was very difficult to regulate the temperature of the water. So it was either freezing cold or too hot - nothing in-between. The air conditioner was old and not working properly. And the room was not too clean. The hotel needs major updating. I would not recommend this "Holi-dump" to anyone. STAY AWAY! April 26, 2013

I had to go to a Starbucks to download and study my paperwork for the test I took next day! I had never experienced anything like this before so I would never stay at this place ever again! Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by smoky floor, stinky bathroom, and no dresser or drawers for clothing My wife and I brought the kids to Austin for a car show. I had booked early and paid for a suite for us to have enough room...a non smoking room. We arrived, checked in, and proceeded to our room. As the elevator doors opened the over powering smell of cigarette smoke hit us. It was just as strong all the way to our room. Luckily, the smell was not nearly as pronounced within, Could not really smell it, but the hint was there. Upon entering the room, we noticed there was no dresser, chest of drawers, or any other type of storage for folded clothing, Strange, as I have stayed all over the country and the world and have never encountered a hotel, motel, bed and breakfast, or other nightly stay establishment without a folded clothing storage cabinet of some sort. The kids (3 and 5) went into the bathroom and came out saying it stank. Well, they were right. IT was as if a very wet and smelly dog had taken refuge in our bathroom the night before. I called and went down to the receptionist and began to ask if there was another room. No. They explained there is not dresser because there is a fireplace. That is not really a great idea for a place people would unpack their clothing to stay for a restful night or more. The hotel did spray some aromatic cover up for the hallway and the cleaning crew came in from off duty to mop the floor and completely sanitize the bathroom. Overall, the stay was comfortable, the room was loud, the stench of wet dog was taken care of....I wont stay there again, though. April 15, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by State of Insecurity We were asleep in our room, some time after midnight, when the door to our room opened and the light came on. My wife sat up and said,"who's there!" and the intruders backed out. When we contacted the front desk, the man on duty said, "Hey, it's not my fault, it's the computer's" and started laughing, This man had just ruined one set of guests' sleep and embarrassed another set, and he was trying to laugh it off. We double locked the door, and left as early as possible the next morning, never to return March 28, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Stay Clear Worst Holiday Inn Express I have ever stayed. It is loud as it is next to the highway. Good luck non smokers you plan on sleeping. Pardon me staff while you wrap up your conversation while I just stand at the front desk. I do not want to interrupt! (Twice) . The carpet on the 2nd floor is gross. There was barely any water in pool so i guess no swimming that day of anyone. The hotel has a motel feel. It is poorly maintained and should be closed. March 22, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Terrible Staff I had reserved 2 rooms, and when I got there, it showed that they had charged $40 more than what the online agreement had stated. They said that it was an 'additional person' charge, even though there were less people than what I had originally booked for. I told the manager, and she would do nothing about it. After spending about 2 hours arguing with her, I called priority club and they refunded me the $40. Its pretty sad when the manager can do nothing about the price when I show them an email clearly stating what I agreed to and the number of people shown on the reservation. Due to this ridiculous service, I will never return to this hotel again. February 15, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Overall, a very great hotel This trip was my first to Austin, TX since moving to the state in October. I had a great experience at check in and was signed up for the rewards membership. The room was much more spacious than expected and the staff did great. There was a moment when I thought things were going to go less than well because when I arrived home I realized that I had forgotten an article of clothing that was 1) rather expensive, and 2) I had JUST purchased it and the trip was my first time wearing it. When I called the next day I was told that they didn't have it in lost and found and that housekeeping didn't have it either. I was understandably miffed and, since it was Saturday, I relegated myself to having to wait until Monday to talk with a manager. Happily though, Leslie went in to work that day and made a point to call me back. As it turns out the young man at the desk had been incorrect because Leslie was able to determine that her head of housekeeping (whom she called on her day off# had, in fact, found what I left and after a little bit of phone tag between Leslie and myself they mailed it back to me. So, in short, the staff were wonderful and they graciously dealt with me when I was in a less than happy mood #always a challenge). Thanks again! February 5, 2013

The folks at the front desk (Jordan & Johnny) went way above the call of duty to make me feel at home and special. The hot water took 20 minutes to warm up enough to wash up or shower, Also the housekeeping staff would not perform maid service after 1pm. We went our entire stay of 4 nights without having our room cleaned. This was unacceptable particularly as we were in town to attend our daughter's wedding. January 3, 2013

It's very conveniently located to highways and a short drive to downtown/6th street/shopping etc. The beds were comfortable, the front desk person (I forgot his name) when I arrived was extremely friendly and helpful, breakfast buffet was good and the hotel overall was a good choice. I'm also a smoker and usually the smoking rooms smell pretty stale, but this one did not. Maybe it's because I was able to open the window all the way (although it didn't have a screen), but I wasn't worried about that. Anyhow, it was good hotel, good location and I was satisfied!
