Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good hotel, not helpful reception staff The hotel is great in terms of location and facilities. Good breakfast, even choices of food are limited. Great coffee machine! Unfortunately the reception staffs seems unfriendly, not really willing to help. We were requested to fill in forms and passports for all 6 members in the 3 rooms we stayed in. A few hours before check out time, I requested one hour late check out cause we needed to take our lunch. The reception staff requested 600 Baht additional payment per room. Never experience this in any other hotel. We stayed in 3 rooms for 4 nights. After complaining to the manager, he approved the one hour late. BTW, did I mention they have great coffee machine? Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by For a Holiday Inn Express - very good, although lifts could be an issue My general experience of Holiday Inn 'Express' hotels are that they are usually quite basic but not expensive. The Holiday Inn Express in Bangkok is reasonably priced and the rooms excellent and far from basic. The hotel is located just five minutes from the Siam shopping complexes, similar from Jim Thompson's house, if your interested in this attraction and less time from Skytrain so great location. Breakfast, included, was basic but OK and the staff could have been a little more helpful but the staff on the front desk were superb. They helped me a lot with my booking and changes and deserve a big thank you. I only have one small issue and that is for a hotel with 24 floors or more only having 3 lifts can be an issue. At busy times, breakfast / early morning check-out time particularly you could expect to wait some time to get a lift and then some time while the lift stopped and seemingly every floor. I would definitely recommend this hotel as well worth trying for many reasons. August 8, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Exceeded expectations! This was the choice for a 2night getaway to Bangkok - about 7 of us took 3 rooms. Prior to my trip, I knew this was considered a budget for HI and had expected a budget-y sort of experience when I went but we were all very pleasantly surprised by the stay. CHECK IN - We arrived at 1pm and were checked in immediately which was a good start to the trip. ROOMS - We had rooms 1708, 1710, and 1712, all of which was very nice and well-appointed. My room in particular (1708) was a corner room which was slighter bigger than the others - I suspect it was because we asked for an extra bed to be placed in it. I loved the blue hues of the corridor leading to the rooms and the tinges of blue in the room itself. The room was extremely clean, the bathroom big, the beds super comfy, and the pillow selection of firm or soft sweetened the whole experience. I loved that apart from the working glass desk, there was another lounge chair to relax in. Coffee / tea sachets were provided too. Complimentary water was provided in the form of glass jars which were replenished each day. The only sign of 'budget' was the multi purpose cleanser dispenser in the bathroom - so bring your own if you dont like these. SERVICE - Service was good throughout - during check in, check out, in-room dining, request for extra towels etc. The security will even call a taxi for you if you need one so you can do away with shoo-ing away tuk tuk touts waiting to pounce on you along the hotel entrance. DINING - Breakfast in The Great Room on level 7 was nice as the place was not overly crowded when we went, and there were plenty to fill your stomach given that they dont charge extra for breakfast. There were fried rice, sausages, eggs, cereal, bread, pastries #at least 6 different kinds#, fruits, and a machines that gives you coffee, hot chocolate etc. I've seen some reviews which asked for more variety but for me this is more than sufficient! LOCATION - this is located in Siam indeed but at the far end of the BTS which means you are along the shopping stretch but at 1 end of it. It is diagonally opposite MBK and almost very near to Siam discovery but the hot weather sometimes make the walk feel further than it is. MASSAGE - I loved the massage place right beside the hotel - Lek House. The massage is only SGD10 for 1hour #foot, body etc# - those with oil costs more of course. They dont take bookings so you just walk in - but they have plenty of masseurs so should not be a problem. HI Express Siam a rare gem as it gives you the cleanliness of a 5star hotel with a pocket-friendly price. On hindsight, its location also gives you the reason to walk away all those tom yam and phad thai indulgence. August 4, 2013

Lobby, common areas and rooms are contemporary in design and rather pleasant atmosphere. ASIA Restaurant, although seperate from Hotel billing system, was very good with attentive staff. BTS (elevated train National Stadium station) is a minute or 2 walk where you can connect to the Airport Express Train or MRT (Subway) and get around town cheaply.Note: Many of the train stations are NOT traveller friendly with no escalators so you have to carry your bags up or down flights of stairs.Some do have elevators (lifts). MBK Mall, one of the largest in Asia, is a short walk as well as the upscale Paragon mall. Check-in was rather slow as the 2 receptionists on duty were busy. Seems like they could have called in a third person to assist. Rooms are relatively small even though I got upgraded to a corner room. Breakfast was adequate and all was fresh and hot. Worth a few nights stay and I would visit again. August 2, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent location and price We had a great stay, 6 nights. The staff and service were excellent from check in to check out. One day we had trouble getting into our room. The battery that reads the key card was apparently dead. We got immediate help and service with a smile. It could not have been better. Breakfast is very good and there is variety. Location is just a few minutes walk to the National Stadium BTS. I will stay here again. I highly recommend it. July 17, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Amazing Stay After browsing and comparing some new hotels in Bangkok, we chose Holiday Inn Express for our stay in Bangkok. Perfect location with good price was our reason, but when we arrived there we're so glad that we chose this hotel. The room & bathroom was very clean, nice amenities & complete toilettries, comfortable bed with pillow menu (soft or firm). Breakfast was surprisingly good, although only limited choices (rice/noodle, sausages, egg, porrige, bakeries & pastries, fruit, yoghurt, juice) but that's enough to fill your stomach before enjoying Bangkok. And don't forget that location is the most important thing when you're in Bangkok. The BTS station is only 50 m, MBK, Siam Center, Siam Paragon, Siam Discovery was within walking distance. I left my luggage at the hotel for a few days and heading for other province, after completed my check out,and on my way to the airport, i have realize I forgot some of my belong in the room, immediately I call the hotel, after discuss with the telephone operator, she said that she would call the house keeping department and find out about the situation and will informed me about it after, shortly after, i received a call back and mentioned that they have find my belonging, and will keep it for me till I pick up my luggage. After return from my trip and I went to pick up at the hotel, and mentioned about my left belonging, they noticed there is a note attached to my luggage about my left belong were kept in the fridge. WOW, I was amaze by the care and attentive of the staff of this hotel. Very thank to everyone at thsi hotel, a super AAAAAAAAAAAA= team. will for sure mention about this to anyone I know and recommend them to come and stay here. I claim that immediately, but hotel staff couldn't solve anything and did nothing. I had to pay, I lost my time. I missed my breakfast and Almost my flight due to this inconvenient. The room was tastefully decorated and well equipped, internet connection was good and the location was excellent as it is only a short walk to the Sky Train station. Breakfast was merely adequate but they allow 'grab and go' and not like others commented, there was no seating problem. Will definitely stay there again. May 31, 2013

For every person the smartphone is more important than the breakfast. I see people forget to eat but cannot disconnect the phone from the ear. Or some person just take a full plate to make a photo and then leave the room. This is modern and express but not relaxed. The staff was unable to call ataxi for me at the rush-hour. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Modern, awesome location & comfy beds Stayed here only 1 night but I was amazed how modern and beautiful the hotel was compared to the United States version of the Holiday Inn. Rooms were beautiful. We were on the 28th floor facing a huge football field. Everything in the room was spotless. Had to go to laundry room to iron my clothes. Wish there was a iron in the room instead. Walking distance to Siam Square, Paragon, MBK, and outdoor vendor shopping and food. Arrived around 9p so we decided to grab a quick late dinner at the restaurant connected to the hotel. Yummy food and attentive service. Drinks were regular prices but food prices very reasonable. Nice to have A/C and enjoy the last day in Bangkok. May 24, 2013
