Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Would stay again Quiet room in spite of 3 volleyball and 2 soccer high school girls teams on the same weekend. We love IHG for their nonsmoking policy and beds. The down side is there is temporary construction on the highway, limited restaurants in the immediate area, and only one elevator. The staff is wonderful and really keep the place clean. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Greatly Disappointed I have stayed at this facility a couple of times. It had been about one year to the date since my last visit. I actually booked the suite this time. When I arrived in the suite, it was spacious but it seemed to have been missing something in the room with the sofa. There wasn't a TV in that room , just a table, sofa, and a end table. I called to front desk to find out they removed the tv from my room and must of taken some furniture too. I paid more for the room than usual. They didn't offer me anything. I actually asked for a discount and they took off ten dollars. Later that night I was getting my clothes set for tomorrow morning and wanted to iron some stuff. Of course, NO IRON!!!! I went to front desk and was told they didn't have any. What, how can a hotel not have an iron. The front desk person didn't seem to want to help. I had to tell him this wasn't going to work and he needed to do something. He then called the hotel next door and got me an iron. I was down at the front desk for over 30 minutes trying to convince this person to do something. I am very disappointed with the service that I received and I will not be staying there again. I would rather make the drive from Rio Rancho then stay there. November 18, 2013

The breakfast had a decent amount of choices. But as I said it was a great deal. Third time for me, for the Balloon Fiesta and by far the nicest, most comfortable, friendliest, hotel we have stayed at(same price). Front staff greeted us every time we came in. Gave us great suggestions for dinner. Also it's cleanliness was superb. Definitely would recommend this motel---just don't fill it up when I want to stay there!!!! :) October 12, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Stay! We had several days at this facility during the Balloon Fiesta. It was a great stay. The room was spacious, conveniently arranged and immaculately clean. The staff was very friendly. The cleaning process seemed continuous and the entire hotel was immaculate. The only glitch we had during our stay involved confusion with our reservation. We had a separate reservation for one day, then another for three days that had been made earlier. We were required to re-register on the second day. My husband went to the desk, told the clerk what he wanted, was given new keys and told he was all in order. A little after check out time, the new desk clerk came to our room. Apparently the young man had never recorded that my husband had been to the desk. I had to go and register us AGAIN. Minimal inconvenience for such a good stay. October 11, 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not Warm and Welcoming, Poor Quality Upon arrival was not greeted as Platinum Elite, room was not ready or no welcoming gift (If offered). Booked the Economic Stimulus Package and staff was not familiar with it. Was not automaticly upgraded, had to ask for it, but should have just taken the regular room. the King Executive Suite is not worth it, DON'T Pay for it. The room was very empty and outdated. No room for sitting with company as it only had a couch in the one area, in the area with the bed it had a chair and ottoman tucked in the corner. the TV service was hit and miss, as some channels had service and others did not. The cleaning services were a hit and miss, did not replace the coffee and cups, or the trash was not removed daily. only one elevator and in the morning the cleaning staff was on it with the carts. The lobby, Lounge, breakfast area, and business center was really hot and a bit uncomfortable, would have been better sitting outside for the breeze. Went to use the pool area and the hottub was not working or broken, the front desk staff was not aware of it and just laughed it off. I have pictures of the room if needed. There was one really knowledgable staff person and was very helpful and her name was Bernadette. She is the only great aspect of the trip. August 26, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Hotel, but perhaps bad timing Overall the hotel was fine, but there are a few areas that could use improvement. First, better signage is necessary off of Hwy 550. It is not apparent where to turn to get to the hotel. The check in person was nice, but there was only one person at the desk, and they were overwhelmed handling walk up customers checking in and telephone traffic. No mention of priority status was made, and if there was a welcome package it was not received. The room was fine, but missing shampoo. Breakfast was good, but again there was only one staff person trying to keep up with a full house of people, so some items ran out. We also had to wait for a place to sit. It appeared that staff scheduling was a bit off for the number of people staying at the hotel. August 20, 2013

There was no operable ice machine on our floor and no coffee cups in our room. There needs to be a sign as to where to turn from the street. The street sign was hidden by a tree. August 16, 2013

My name is Carla, and I just wanted to let you know that I enjoyed staying at your establishment on July 25th, 2013, and I was so very impressed with your desk staff and how pleasant of an experience it was for me. Bernadette was the first one to welcome me to the motel, and she was very helpful and willing to accommodate me in any way possible. She was also there the next morning, and once again, was very friendly & made sure that everything was suitable to me. Of course it was, and I will definitely stay with you guys again whenever I am in the area. Thank You for being so caring & conscientious of what customers really need & want in accommodations. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful New Mexico room with a view! Rather than staying in hectic downtown Albuquerque, consider a quick 10 minutes north on I-25 to the Bernalillo Holiday Inn Express. Recently remodeled, quiet, and clean, with a great staff who offered true hospitality, this HIE is well worth the short drive to visit. I wish I could have stayed longer! July 24, 2013

Breakfast was poorly stocked, had to wait quite a while for items to be replenished. A bit hard to find, shares parking lot with another hotel, so look out for the hotel sign. July 16, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Toilet w/ Bateria ring Everything was great, except our Toilet had a what appeared to be black Bacteria ring/stain at the water level in side the toilet bowl. The stain was very noticeable! I couldn't tell if this was permanent stain that couldn't be removed by daily cleaning or the room had not been used or cleaned in several days.. Did I complain? No, I didn't because it was late when I checked in and I didn't want to wait for someone to clean or have to packup and move to another room - I had changed in to my bedtime clothes and was ready for bed. Did I complain the next day? No, but did I wait for several minutes for the Desk Clerk when I went to turn in my card keys at the front desk the next morning.. He was taking for ever assisting another customer, so I got furstrated, dropped the keys and took off to get on with my vacation. I was very disappointed to find this in a Holiday Inn Express, as I drove down from Santa Fe just to stay at this Holiday Inn Express as the one in Santa Fe was booked for the night. I could had stayed at Budget hotel, but choose to drive the extra distance to stay in this hotel. Whether this was a stain that could not be removed or a toilet that just lack cleaning, it was unacceptable. Thank you, Jim July 11, 2013

We went to the front desk to inform the clerk of the problem and found a sign "back in 5 min.". 45 min. later the clerk returned (1:00 AM) and apologized We weren't very pleased. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Hard to locate, alot of issues This location was clean and roms were maintianed, however bed was very hard and uncomfortable. The elevatore stopped working early morning abd smoke alarm keep going off when elevatore was reset, so they left it turned off. They were our of club members snack and drink, and lastly the guest computer was down, really folks?? P I forgot, at about 9:30 am housekeeping came barging in without so much as a courtesy knock, luckly I had the security chain latched! Front desk young man was very helpful and appologized over and over for all the problems. poor guy was there when I called to make reservations at 4 pm and still the only front desk employee as of checkout the next day just befor 12pm. Wow, long stresful shift for that emplyee!. I would stay at this location again, all of the above were not really that much of a issue to me, I would how ever ask for a room with a newer mattress for the HIE bed comfort I've come to rely on when traveling. Upon arrival I believe the front desk clerk was new because he recognized me as a priorityclub member #after look at the sign#. I was not recognized as a platinum member. During my stay the hot tub was "out of order" for the first night. Several of the pop machines were "out of order" the entire stay. At breakfast the pancake maker was "out of order" for the entire stay. The business center computer wouldn't connect to the internet. Two of the days the reception food was chips and cheese dip with the lid off of the crock pot of cheese dip the entire time. I bug was in the bathroom when first getting in the room and the last morning I was greeted with a bug in front of my face on the covers when I woke up. I would have to say this is my worst experience when staying at a Holiday Inn property. It seams like a total wast of my hard earned points that I used. I will not stay at this property again. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by The right choice in Bernalillo As a traveler, I've come to find certain points of interest to look for when arriving at a destination. Bernalillo is certainly interesting... The location of this hotel puts you close to a lot of eateries (I recommend the Range or Abuelita's), and a Walgreen's is very close by. (Side note: no wine/beer is sold at this Walgreen's) The freeway is close by, too. Santa Ana casino will send their shuttle to pick you up from the hotel if you so desire. Classic Holiday Inn Express breakfast is served in a clean, friendly environment...the cook is available for compliments! March 29, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Pros and Cons I spent 4 nights at the hotel on vacation in the Albuquerque area. The hotel looks recently rennovated and is located in a very good area outside the conjestion of the large city of Albuquerque. Here are some pros and cons for you to consider if you are considering this hotel: PROS: Location: This hotel is in a GREAT location very close to the main attractions that drew us to Albuquereque for vacation; Balloon rides, casinos, and local wineries. All were within 10 minutes of the hotel. The hotel is just off I-25 and also provides an easy ride into downtown Albuquerque where we visited "Old Town", took only 20 minutes. We had a nice view of the mountains from our room. We had an awesome time in the area! Price: the hotel is very well priced compared to other hotels just 5-8 miles away in Albuquerque, and is closer to the attractions we wanted to visit. Accomodations: The room was spacious and the bed comfortable. There was an indoor pool/hot tub and gym area. The breakfast room was very spacious and nicely decorated with a large stone fireplace. The hotel is not new, but looks like it has been recetnly rennovated. CONS: Staff: Some of the staff was nice, but they didnt seem very knowledgable about the area. When I asked about local attractions at check in, the girl just handed me a stack of printed pages with restaurants and other attractions. The staff also didnt come across as friendly, although werent rude either. Maintenance: The gym only has three pieces of equipment; treadmill, exercise bike, and eliptical. The treadmill speed does not go fast enough to run, only a walk pace. Also, the elevator was not working the morning I checked out and i was on the 3rd floor...and the only staircase was on the otherside of the building. our room door did not fully close when opened, i had to push it closed to ensure it locked when i left the room. Hot tub: the hot tub was very relaxing in the morning and evening, but even though the signs all around the pool/ hot tub indicated NO children under the age of 16, and NO unsupervised children, there were several very young kids playing in the hot tub unsupervised. The pool area is just down the hall from the main desk with large bay windows looking in from the hallway, but no staff member ever came by to ensure the rules were being followed. DO NOT leave your wallet or other valuables in plain sight when you are not in the room. Hide or lock easily pilferable items. March 28, 2013
