Room carpet was old and shabby. appeard dirty. No curtains to darken room. Floor in bathroom is soft with loose tiles.

Great costumer service, all staff is very friendly and capable to accommodate the needs of guests, especially Melissa at the front desk made this stay memorable. Rooms are clean and very comfortable.

My initial experience with the front desk representative was the worst service I have received yet. I asked about a charge that was on my card, and he told me that the charge was something that hotel "always" does. I explained that I have stayed there before, my card had not been charged this "fee" in the past. he told me I was wrong, and that its a standard charge. I let it go. I then offered my AAA membership card, he said, he didn't need it, and refused it. I said ok, thank you. I then asked for the WI-FI password, he commented, don't worry its on your paperwork. He handed me my key and walked in to the back room. I got my bags, explained my experienced to my family, and my husband spoke to the manager?. she apologized for our experience, but then sent the representative to my room to apologize that I was offended. Worst experience possible I have stayed at this hotel many times, and is very close to my family, and convenient to the hwy, but I am not sure that I will consider this hotel again.

There was a mix up in our reservations. The staff was outstanding in making reservations for us elsewhere for the first night and then giving us an early check in when we arrived to accommodate our needs. I cannot thank Jorie enough for his help. Guest rooms were clean though a bit worn. Mattresses need to be replaced

The staff were friendly and helpful. Driving behind another hotel was annoying. The breakfast buffet was disappointing, prepackaged hot items. The hotel location in Bernalillo was ideal for our family gathering. Would have appreciated a small refrigerator,

Clean and comfortable, though the room furniture and condition was average (not as new as many HIE's). The staff were distracted at check in and left an initial bad impression but were helpful and courteous once they came to the front desk. One of the staff actually went and found a luggage cart and brought it to me, as there weren't any at the front door (I thought that was nice).

The room was nice, the area the hotel is in was not so nice. But the fact that it is located at a dead-end and was (mostly) fenced in made it seem fairly safe.
The location is close to lots of fast food joints and only a mile or so from the Santa Ana Casino (do NOT walk to it! drive or take the shuttle) just across the Rio Grande river.
The room was clean, the bathroom was clean but not spotless (whose is?). The A/C unit was kind of loud but it worked very well. As far as outside noise, our room was on the highway side, and was fairly quiet -only the loudest noises made it through - sirens mostly.
The complementary breakfast was OK, the onion compote filled omelets were blah, the bacon was plentiful but slightly overcooked. I realize the concept behind "free" yet the price of the room more than made up for that! A bit more choice for primary breakfast items would be nice, ie plain cheese omelet, scrambled eggs, etc.

We have stayed here before, but this time we were very disappointed. Lobby at check in was a mess, the young man checking us in acted like we were interrupting him, and couldn't wait to get back to what he was doing before we arrived.
The hall way on 3rd floor was dirty and smelled. My husband said if the room smelled like the hall we were not staying.

I have spent many nights HIEX and have always been perfectly satisfied with the overall experience.
This case was a very unpleasant exception.
I made a flexible reservation online and arrived about 9:20 PM. When presented with ID and Credit Card, as per usual, the desk clerk claimed no knowledge of my reservation. I booted my computer and displayed my emailed confirmation. The agent was then able to find my reservation. So first question, if I have a reservation, why can it be found using the number but not my name? I suspect the company was prepared to charge me for the room but release the reservation to someone else. In other words I was probably lucky the hotel was not fully booked. The clerk was no help and seemed to find the whole thing quite amusing.
I received a key and went to the assigned room, where i discovered the key did not work. As this happens regularly with electronic keys i tried it several times, until an anxious-sounding female voice from inside the room called out, "No! Go away!" I returned to the desk where the clerk managed this time to give me a key to an unoccupied room. It must have been my lucky day, the hotel wasn't full, and the terrified woman in the 1st room didn't (to my knowledge) call the police.

This is in a good location to toggle between Sante Fe and Albuquerque and easy to get to. The staff was very friendly, and the room was well cleaned. In the room I was in, the window sheers needed to be replaced - there was a burn hole in them. The beds appear to be close to their last legs as they were concave, but they did sleep just fine.

This hotel in Bernalillo, NM is a good place to stay if you will be going between Albuquerque and Santa Fe. Considering the location, the price is reasonable.
Staff at this Holiday Inn Express was very helpful. My room was clean and comfortable, everything in good working order. The bed was comfy and the pillows large and fluffy. I really appreciate that unscented laundry and cleaning products are used. Breakfast selections were good, and the breakfast area continually cleaned. Loved the fresh fruit. The indoor pool was perfectly clean, though not heated when I was there.

The hotel has great staff, if only they had ownership that have interest in capital expenditures. Outdated furniture, and worst of all, carpet worn and filthy..had to lay towels on floor to walk on them. Iron board is beaten to death...needs replacement, carpet needs replacement

Our room was about what we expected, the bed seemed a little LOW to the ground and the middle of the bed sunken in. It was clean and fairly comfortable for our stay. The exercise room was HOT (not air in there in the morning (7a)) and there were some shoes left in there and 3 dirty towels on the floor in there along with no way to change the TV channel. The pool area (since I looked at that while using the treadmill) had "cloudy" water and more dirty towels strewn about #4 different ones#. I'm glad I didn't plan on swimming during this stay. The breakfast was good, but the pancake maker was EMPTY each morning we went down for breakfast #8am and 8:30am#. The stock of syrup was also short of regular syrup - so whomever was watching the breakfast area wasn't keeping the supply stocked. Our room cards locked us out day 1 - we were told they weren't set for multiple days? The location is convenient for family visits but I'm not sure I care to pay that much for some of these housekeeping issues.
