Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Already someone checked in the rooms When I checked in this hotel, the front man gave me first room key (room #126). When I opened the room 126, someone already in this room. Then I went back front, then he gave me next room key(#216). When I opened the room 216, someone already inside the room. I went back again.... and again.... Totally, three times it happened, then the front woman checked the room #125 before I go there. Then I can go inside the room. The management the room is the one of the most important thing in the hotel business. However, they couldn't. I will never go back this hotel and will not recommend to my friends. May 7, 2013

I guess if I had to find fault I would say that the fact that there was some construction taking place and worn carpet threshold would be something to note. Also on my second night there, when driving around back to look for a parking spot, there were a bunch of young people hanging around a car sorta having a mini parking lot party. Made me a little nervous about leaving my car back there. With that said I can say that when I stay at a hotel I understand that I am not at home and that maintenance has to be done periodically so I still think that it is an ok hotel. Thought it was a little pricey for being an airport hotel compared to some of the other hotels I stayed at but again it was a nice stay. April 24, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Looking forward to update The San Francisco South property is under renovation. Great news. Currently the rooms are tired and dated, but happily were clean. The lobby was updated and nice. Wider breakfast options than I've seen at other HIEx, which I appreciated. They did not acknowledge me in any way for being a Priority Club Rewards member. Maybe they aren't doing that any more. Pity, because it was nice. Overall, the property was "fine." But it will be much better once the reno is complete. April 19, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Like part of the family I stayed at this hotel for 2 1/2 months that right there tells you something about the hotel. The staff was friendly and called me by name, they were extremely accommodating when I needed anything, staying at the hotel I felt like we were one big family. They are in the process of renovating and the choices for coloring and materials is wonderful I can't wait to get back to the hotel. The bed was comfortable and always clean and there was no stuffy smell like some hotels tend to have. I will always recommend this hotel to family and friends. April 18, 2013

This hotel clearly needs an upgrade.Apparently the heat was on the on the whole night and no way we could turn the heat off and start the air conditioner as it was not controlled in the room.Very uncomfortable.The breakfast was average with very little room to accommodate guests in the breakfast room.There was an automatic pancake machine which took forever to make two tiny pancakes and hardly any fresh fruits.One of the nights there was so much noise and it took an hour for the staff to get them to quiet down but to give them credit they were trying their best to stop the noise.The hallways are gloomy as there were very few and dim lights..This place definitely needs an upgrade and definitely not worth the money we spent.But some credit to the hotel staff who were courteous and explained that the hotel in going to be upgraded and apologized. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by will be nice to visit once construction is done Good value stayed here on our first night in town, got here late in the evening. Shuttle from airport was very late compared to what desk clerk told us when we called. Airport south holiday inn express came once and the north hotel had a shuttle that came three times in the time I waited for this shuttle. There was construction going on so it seemed like we entered thru a back door which was very cramped. Value was good at just around 100.00 for the night. Breakfast foods were not very tasty but edible. Had a wide variety of foods, cereals, hot eggs, bacon, toast, sausage etc. Cinnamon rolls were yummy. Able to get some instant oatmeal and bananas which were good. Other guy checking out in front of me had asked for a wake up call that never was called, not good...Room was sort of outdated, needs some updates which are probably next on the list after the remodel of the lobby. Would stay here again for a night before or after a flight just due to the extremely low pice and the ease to get on the shuttle going back into the airport. There was a schedule in the lobby which was better on track for returning to the airport to pick up the BART the next day. April 8, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Under Construction The reason I would not recommend staying at this hotel is because the hotel is under construction and this is not noted ANYWHERE on the holiday inn express website. Upon arriving at the hotel, there are signs guiding you to the "lobby" in the back of the hotel. There is limited parking in the back of the hotel due to the construction and the entrances in the front are not usable during the construction. We were told the hotel has been under construction since some time in January. There are taps and paper covering the floors of the "lobby" area leading to the elevator. Upon entering the hotel room, there were 2 sets of earplugs on the end table next to the bed. I do not know if this is due to the construction, or to the noise from the airplanes flying overhead. In the mooring when we awoke, the noise from construction truckers and machinery was very loud. We booked a pool view room, which obviously we did not have because there were cranes and other sorts of construction equipment blocking the view. When looking out the window, I do not even remember seeing a pool at all. If you book this hotel, I would call and find out about the construction work and make sure to check the noise of the room where you will stay. April 4, 2013

When I returned to the SFO airport, I was told that the bus had just been there and I was notified by Camillia at the hotel that another one would be there in about 35 minutes. I was very upset and asked if she knew how much a cap would cost to the hotel to get my car and she told me that she would gladly pay for the cab fare if I wanted to get one. I told my wife that were were going downstairs for a cab and that HIE was paying. All of the other people that were standing in the rain waiting for their shuttle to other hotels were astonished and asked what hotel would do that. You can bet that they will be staying at the Bayshore HIE next time! Many thanks to Camillia....you have a winner with her! April 2, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Renovations under way While my room and the staff were great, the property is undergoing renovations. While I was not aware of that when I reserved the room, it might have been mentioned but I overlooked it. The rate reflected the renovation construction and I was more interested in saving money for my client then dealing with the inconvenience or complaining. The breakfast room was too small for the number of people that they were serving but it was easy enough to go to the room and eat. It will ease up sometime soon, I suppose, when the entry way is completed. March 30, 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not to my expectations for a Holiday Inn Express - mostly cleanliness In my opinion, this hotel is NOT up to normal Holiday Inn Express expectations for maintenance and cleanliness. I realize the hotel is under construction. If this construction is to raise their standards - great; however, the construction should be completed FIRST before the hotel is marketed with other similarly marketed brands. I am also surprised to learn that I must "agree" to a multi-page, 40 point listing of Terms and Conditions to supply Holiday Inn with feedback. Good grief. March 25, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor value I booked this hotel for a one night stay between Philadelphia and palm springs. I was hoping to use the pool in the morning before my flight. There were reifurbishments done in the hotel and the pool was closed. There was no information regarding his on the website when I booked it so I was really disappointed. Due to refurbishments, the restaurant was closed too and the breakfast was served in the reception area with a constant draft from the door opening frequently behind us. A complete disappointment! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A good nights rest I stayed at this hotel in Feb 2013 on a business trip; it was awesome to come "home" to after a long day at the office. I relaxed with a few of my favorite tv shows, I enjoyed dinner and really unwound with a hot shower before going to bed and simply sleeping like a log. (I often travel with my pillow, but this time I didn't have to - awesome!) I woke up feeling rested. I appreciated the variety of breakfast choices and the friendly staff as I was getting ready for my day, as well as the prompt assistance when I accidentally demagnetized my room key with my cell phone, locking myself out in the hallway - twice. The internet wi-fi was indeed a much needed convenience - thank you! In general the friendly staff really made me feel welcome. Thank you for making it such a pleasant stay. During my stay the were renovating the lobby area but the designs looked really tasteful. I hope I get to visit again soon to see what it looks like when it's all done. March 11, 2013

Being on the top floor the air conditioning from the roof was very noisy. We booked approximatly 3 months in advance with our credit card, which they promptly processed. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by King size bed, after 2 weeks of sleeping on a double bed ! I have always liked staying at the Holiday Inn Express, or any IHG hotel, for that matter. I enjoy the breakfast options they have, always a quick check in, and they all seem to be consistant with each other, regardless of what town you are in.
