Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by good value, pleasant and friendly We enjoyed our stay very much, the walk to the Lechmere T is not the most pleasant, but it is convenient. The only issue we had was arriving in the dark, after travelling 10 hours, the entrance is very poorly lit and signage non-existent.. If you miss the driveway, the next couple of streets are oneway, and good luck finding your way back to the hotel - so close but yet so far. The front desk staff very pleasant, the availability of coffee/tea and fruit was much appreciated. We will be back, the next time we visit our son. November 13, 2013

Greeting staff is excellent. I arrived late night and Janelle in the front desk was very friendly. Breakfast was good. Overall, the hotel provided everything I was looking for. November 6, 2013

The people at the desk were so accommodating, calling us cabs, even holding our coats while we dashed back to the room for something. Always cheerful and asking what they could do for us. I stayed in Holiday Express for 12 days and this was the only one with no washer and dryer. Fast food restaurants have the only parking. Other restaurants in area have limited parking. Only parking is at meters for restaurants. Parking is very scarce all over downtown Boston. November 4, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best Hotel on Our Boston Trip My boyfriend had never been to Boston, so we decided to take a five day trip so I could show him around. The Holiday Inn Cambridge was by far the nicest hotel that we stayed at on our trip (and we stayed at four different hotels). It was nice, clean, spacious, and well-decorated (no hideous wall paper, etc.). The beds and pillows were so comfortable that I did not want to get up in the morning to go catch our flight. There was also a nice flat screen TV with cable/satellite, a pull-out desk, and a comfy chair in the corner. Also, they offer free breakfast, which unfortunately we didn't get to eat because we had a really early flight (we had to leave at 5 AM). The hotel is within walking distance to the Lechmere T stop (<2 blocks), and they also offer free parking if you have a car. It only took us about 10 minutes to drive to the airport, and the freeway entrance is just down the street from the hotel. I can't think of anything that could be improved at this hotel. We will be staying here exclusively next time we decide to visit the Boston area. October 26, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by First visit to Boston While the property was everything we needed, clean, comfortable and an easy location to the T, the best part of our stay was Ralph. I spoke with him the day before we arrived to get logistics regarding the public transportation from Logan Airport. He gave us all the information we needed and more. He suggested we get a 7 day charlie pass, how and where to go to get to the right T line and then how to walk from the station. I called the hotel from the station, he immediately recognized my voice and said he wondered where we were. That kind of attention to a customer makes all the difference in the world. The hotel is located a few minutes walk from the T at Lechmere which gets you to downtown Boston in minutes. It's in an area that's not hopping with restaurants shopping, but was close to areas of interest where we could park and go. The stuff was extremely friendly and very helpful. October 13, 2013

We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights from the 1st October, on the positive side the room had been recently renovated, was quite large with a comfortable bed, the breakfast was everything we needed with both hot and cold choices. The downside was that the area in the close vicinity to the hotel was somewhat grubby and left us concerned that we should not be out after dark. We felt the hotel was overpriced for both the brand and the location, the complimentary water and coffee in the room was not regularly replenished. On the day of departure we were not flying until 7.20pm and requested a late checkout only to be told that the hotel was full, all rooms needed to be ready by 3.00pm. Prior to asking for this I had done an internet check on availability at the hotel to find that I could have booked at least 4 rooms for that night, so I left with the opinion that the staff were more concerned about their own ease rather than the needs or satisfaction of the customer October 9, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Reliable and ideal for visiting Boston This is a good hotel- a little difficult to find (although our cause wasn't helped by nearby bridgeworks). Excellent parking yards from entrance. Reception rather frosty- a smile does help to relax the weary traveler! Lovely room and very convenient location near to tram station for easy journey into Boston or bus into Havard. I know it is pretty standard in USA but plastic cutlery, plastic cups and pretty plastic food at breakfast are disappointing. Also it would have been nice to be able to get coffee in the ground floor lounge 24 hours- we did manage to make a hot chocolate there though. Overall hotel very clean and spacious. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by great anniversary! we had a great time in boston at this hotel! On the check in date I called to tell them we would be a little late checking in. The supervisor said to not worry about it at all. When we got there he had upgraded us to a nicer room and there was champagne waiting for us when we got in. Very helpful staff and very friendly at all times. The location was just a little bit away from the T station. There are plenty of good restaurants in the area within walking distance. The rooms are cozy but very nice and clean. All around we had a great time and if we go back to Boston we will stay here again. September 27, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by not he HIX you will expect I have been in many HIX but this is totally different. This property has just undergone a massive renovation and it is not alike the other HIX. Rooms are spacious and well equipped. The location is perfect to save some bucks instead of staying in the city center and in the meanwhile you are 4 subway stop far. Breakfast is good with only basic things. Staff not 100% committed to customer satisfaction. maybe under pression they answer in bad manner. Satisfied overall and absolutely recommend this property from my side. September 21, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Boston Bargain Not in the nicest area, but very close to the transport system. We didn't feel very safe walking about in the evening because there is a park next door with a lot of drunks. Also some of the staff were quite sullen. Now for the good points, other members of staff were very jolly. The breakfast is fab, The rooms are big and clean and comfy. The price is very reasonable for Boston. I would recommend staying here. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Wrong room location Overall the hotel is good. Clean rooms, mostly friendly staff and nice breakfast. However, both my husband and my daughter are light sleepers and I thought I was making a good decision requesting a room away from the elevators. Turns out we werre right across from the ice machine and two windows facing the road. The road noise was very loud. I even tried to muffle the noise by keeping the fan on all night, but that did not really work. We knew we would only be there a couple of nights out of an 11 day trip and they were really booked up so we did not request a room change. Bottom line, if you are a light sleeper request a room away from all of that noise! August 20, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Friendly service, clean and comfortable. As we arrived at the Hotel, they couldn't Accompdate us since it was early. They asked If we wanted to store our luggage and they would Take care of it until we got the room. We proceed to go to our meeting and we return late at night. They had the room ready for us to get right into bed. We found a letter for thanking us staying at this Particular hotel and an apology for not being able to accommodate us wit a room earlier. Also since the hotel was full and there was no more parking, they allow us to park in front of the driveway without of course blocking the way. The breakfast in the morning was excellent. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A Pleasant Place My son and I spent four nights at this hotel and it was outstanding. We were just three block from the subway station so we didn't need a car. The staff was pleasant and tremendously helpful. My only complaints were mechanical in nature: It was a little difficult to control the room temperature from the wall unit and the toilet didn't seem to have enough water pressure to flush very well (we were on the sixth floor). Also, the dining area was rather small for the number of guests who all seemed to come for breakfast at the same time. It was hard to navigate through the crowd. The design could be improved. But those were minor inconveniences as far as we were concerned and overall it suited our purposes. We were on vacation and the price of this place was a bargain. We will definitely book here again. The rooms were clean and comfortable and looked as if they had been recently renovated. The staff was friendly and helpful. There was a wide variety of breakfast foods. However, as with many hotels that offer free breakfast, the breakfast space was inadequate for the number of guests. Finding a place to sit down was difficult every morning. August 18, 2013
