Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 Clerk First of all when I try to confirm my reservation I was put on hold for awhile.When I check in it took almost 20 minutes they were no room available at 3pm, the clerk doesn't seem interested with her job she did not even acknowledge the 2 people behind me that was also trying to check in. They seem to go outside alot for a smoke break and most of them talking on their cell phone with the earphone and loudly talking,. the only person seem to work hard was the person preferring the breakfast but there again she wasn't getting any help both trash can was overflowing. I go visit my friend often in Chesapeak but I don't think I'll be staying here again unless something change.Management and associates need more training. My daughter is one of the GM in a large Hotel her associates are all well trained. August 20, 2015

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Wish I had read the reviews before I booked a room I chose to stay at this hotel because we had stayed here about 3 years ago and had a very pleasant experience. This was not what we experienced this time. The first room we were given was moldy and stunk so we had to be relocated. The smell was actually sickening us. Thankfully they were able to give us another room that was much better. I concur with the other reviews written around the same time we were at the hotel. The breakfast was bad. (hot orange juice, milk was out dated and had a sour taste, etc.) This hotel needs a lot of work. I hope improvements can be made because the location right off of 664 is convenient. The hotel is quite so it was easy to get a good nights sleep. August 17, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Expected more Don't even know where to start. I would NOT recommend this hotel to any of my friends or family. The hotel has a mildew smell that is even worse in the stairwell. The pool was closed and had equipment inside the area that made it appear as if work was being done on it. However, we never saw any workers working on it. The fitness center was also closed and looked as if no one had worked on it in months. They often ran out of food during breakfast and it took forever for them to bring more food out. The room also had a mold smell and water stains on the ceiling in the bathroom. Every other hotel we have stayed in makes the bed when they clean the room. We left out in the morning and returned late in the afternoon the bed was still the same as when we left it. I thought that maybe they had not gotten to our room yet but, we had fresh towels and the floor had been vacuumed. The biggest issue we had with the room was the ants. The kids dropped a french fry on the floor and when we woke up the next morning it was covered in ants. The garbage can where we put our trash was also covered in ants and we also found a couple of ants in the be. We were highly disappointed with our stay because we were expecting so much more. Less than a week prior to our stay here we stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Jacksonville, FL and it was a great overall experience. August 15, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Short visit This property just didn't quite live up to what we expect at a Holiday Inn Express. Price quoted over the phone was not what we received - until I questioned it, and then we did get that price. If price is equivalent to comparable competitors in the area, then hotel should also be comparable. No one mentioned being Honors member and I had to request the 500 points (haven't checked to see if we received them). Breakfast staff was pleasant, but again, not quite up to par (even ran out of biscuits!) August 11, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Under rehab This site is under a transition in all areas. The laundry was down, the business center and the pool was too. The rooms get cleaned 66% of the time and the charge hit my Credit card three weeks after the checkout date, with the reasoning of we are transitioning to a new system. Would not recommend this IHG site. August 11, 2015
