Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by pleasant stay My husband and I enjoyed our stay very much mainly because it was impeccably clean and the desk clerks were very friendly, knowledgable and helpful. The draw backs and there were a few, the eateries close early, even the restaurants they provide you with as an alternative to room service. We traveled a long way and made the mistake of not eating before we arrived which I believe was around 7:00. Places close early and the ones that do offer evening deliveries, I would steer clear..... Wouldn't order again and would make sure we stop ahead of arrival. Valet parking is pretty steep, but to be fair most city parking is. We were surprised there wasn't a small refrigerator in the room and we were also surprised handicap accommodations were on the 9th floor?! Furthermore the elevators are quit tight for handicap visitors...but on the flip side, the size of a standard room was so surprisingly roomy and very pretty and clean!! As far as I'm concerned everything else is secondary to cleanliness and service with a smile and in our case those two attributes surpassed expectations. Sammy's eatery was quit friendly and the food was delicious. I would recommend the Holiday Inn Express simply because the friendly service went above and beyond to see our stay was pleasant! Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Far better than I expected I really enjoyed my stay here. Everyone on the staff was extremely friendly, helpful, and accomodating. I've stayed in many hotels over the years (lots of business travel) and I think I can honestly say that this is the nicest group of people I've ever interacted with, even when compared to "fancy" hotels costing 3 or 4 times as much. Thank you one and all! The room was also far better than I expected -- quite large, bright and sunny, spotlessly clean, and HARDWOOD FLOORS instead of carpet! The bed was comfortable and the shower had tons of water pressure. Wow! The only negatives are pretty minor: there's only 1 on-site dining choice and it's more of a truck stop diner than a high-end restaurant. It's also only open for breakfast and lunch, not dinner. Also, my truck ended up with a nasty door ding that it didn't have before my trip to Cleveland, but with all the road salt I didn't notice it 'til I got home and washed it off, so there's no way to prove where it was inflicted. I'll just fix it and pay for it myself, but I think I'll opt to park my vehicle myself rather than use valet parking next time I stay here....and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. March 2, 2015
