Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 Comfortable room. And good service I was there for a educational conference and the room we were in was beside the elevator shaft and it was constant noise from the motors of the elevators which drowned out the voice of the speakers. Such a good looking Inn to have such a limited use room for conferences. If I had designed this building. I would have made this the breakfast area and the space now occupied by the breakfast into the conference /meeting room. October 7, 2014

I stay as HIE's everywhere, this past weekend off I-27 South in Lubbock, TX. The exact same breakfast selection was cooked to perfection, so I know it can be done. It is the staff, not the food. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Bad experience from Check -in to Check- out This was the first stay at this IHG property and chose this location as I was hosting a Workshop in Atlanta with my colleges coming to this IHG property for an entire week. Sadly, it was a series of bad experiences starting with the Check-in. I was texted by the hotel to what time I would like, and responded 11:00 AM I arrived about 1115 only to be told that check in could only be done after 3:00PM. I indicated my text and also that I was a Platinum Elite customer. Made no difference, indeed, it was most apparent Platinum means nothing at this IHG location. The front desk person invited me to WAIT in the Lobby… wait I thought for four hours. Gee, anyone can just wait. I left and went to the parking lot and got in my car and proceeded to call IHG to complain. While on the call to IHG the hotel call and I find that they can accommodate my check in at 01:00PM. I remained in my car and only walked back into the hotel at about five minutes of 01:00PM. The same person at the front desk suddenly seemed to be able to assist me. Of course, I was a bit annoyed in particular since I had to get up at 0200AM to catch a flight into Atlanta. She did not recognize me as a Platinum elite customer nor gave me the customary gift of a water bottle and assorted nuts in a small bag as is done in most IHG locations. A couple hours later, I went down to greet one of my colleges and another person was at the front desk. I noticed how he was treated a bit different, recognized for his Platinum membership and given a gift. The next day after work, come back to the hotel and was simply planning to relax. I arrived at about 0415PM and the first thing I noticed is that housekeeping had not yet done my bed and cleaned the room. I thought, ok, they may have a packed hotel so waited. At 0540PM still had no housekeeping so went downstairs to complain and reminding them of my poor check out service. I return to my room about an hour later finally to a clean room. The next day, at about 0630 AM, after breakfast, go to the front desk to request maintenance visit my room to unplug the shower drain as it was like taking a bath while also showering. When I returned in the afternoon and take a quick shower find it is still plugged. At this point, realized this hotel has issues if it takes two days to address a clogged drain. On the day before I left, at 0720PM, have a knock on my door. It is maintenance wanting to clear my shower drain. I looked at the gentleman and told him that I reported this TWO days ago and that I was going getting ready to go to bed. He offered to come in but declined. I then went downstairs to address this issue with management. IHG Platinum customers are also supposed to receive the paper, yet the last two days did not. Had I known how poor basic service at this location was, would have opted to stay at a different hotel but could not change my plans this late given my colleges also were staying at this location. In Springfield, VA I also experienced a lack of customer attention to IHG Platinum customers and now suspect that this is maybe a corporate culture that is taking hold and not what I have been accustomed too. Indeed, in the past when I show up for a check in at any IHG property, they typically already have my check-in paperwork on their desk along with a small token gift and greet me by name. I left very disappointed. I will never again visit this IHG property. The only bright spot at this location is the breakfast. The lady that runs it appears most dedicated, checks with her customers to ensure that they have a wonderful gastronomical experience. WiFi is horrible. Speeds of 13-39 MPS can be expected which is 10 years ago vs 300MPS or the current standard. September 26, 2014

Since it was close to the airport I was worried that it would be loud and hard to get some rest at night but it was completely the opposite. The hotel is quiet and has large comfy rooms. The continental breakfast is great, don't forget to grab an amazing cinnamon roll! The staff are friendly and nice. Definitely would recommend staying here over some of the other overpriced fancy hotels in the area. If you want to visit them just walk there from this hotel! September 25, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good Hotel but Staff needs help Drove to Atlanta with my son to see a Braves Game and spend some time in the Atlanta area. Checked in at 2:30am and was recognized as an IHG Rewards Member which was nice but I had two separate continuing reservations and the Desk Agent told me I would have to come back to the Desk in the morning to take care of this. I have done this at other hotels without any issues but I felt that she just did not want to deal with this. Got down to Breakfast at 9:30am and the Hostess had already started to break down all the food. I felt that I had to rush to get my Breakfast before she put everything was put up. Breakfast area was very dirty and the food that was still out looked like it had been sitting there for sometime. The Breakfast attendant's cell phone rang and she answered it on her speaker phone. We were sitting on the far side of the Breakfast room by the A/C unit and could hear all her conversation on how she was very tired and her allergies were bothering her. After Breakfast I went to the Front Desk to take care of my other reservation and had to wait at least 5 minutes as there was no one at the desk. As the Lady came from the back of the office she had her earplugs in listening or talking on her phone. The other people waiting at the desk commented that they should have called the hotel from the front desk and maybe they would have received service quicker. The Hotel was clean and in order except for the Breakfast area. There is nothing within walking distance and really would not be caught out after dark in the area. September 24, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Entire Stay ---- I stay exclusively at IHG properties throughout the SE & don't usually write reviews unless they are unusually good or not so good. This is one that needs to be reviewed. I initially called the property to make a reservation. I was told by management that they would check the rate and send email to confirm. Never got email & no reservation ever made. Had to call the property again to make reservation. When I arrived, the lady checked me in. Went to my room, unpacked & began handling phone calls. Later my door opened by another guest who had also been assigned my room. I checked front desk & they had made an error.... double booked my room. Later went to dinner at restaurant nearby. They asked where I stayed. They replied that they supplied food and drinks for the Manager's Recept. there at the Holiday Inn that night. I was not told at check-in about this reception (which I would like to have gone to) & had to find it out from the restaurant .... too late now. I travel quite a bit & realize that things don't always go right. But double booking a room, not advising about a Mgr's Recept @ check-in and not making a reservation to begin with need to be checked.On the positive side, this is a nice property & very convenient to where I needed to be next day. I will stay there again, but hope these types of things are improved by then. THANKS ==== September 6, 2014

I think Holiday Inn Express wants me to go back to the other brand. Checked in at HIE at Atlanta Airport on 2 September. Told desk clerk we would return on 5 September and we wanted to leave our car at the hotel. He insisted we be charged for four days even though the first night was free. Small thing but there's a lot of good hotels out there that don't gouge you. September 6, 2014

The general reservation person at the 1-800 number was extremely helpful at a time when Atlanta was experiencing a huge influx of visitors. She placed us close to the airport and the hotel had a complimentary shuttle to and from the hotel. Even the guests were pleasant which may mean they too were having a great stay. September 4, 2014

The associate at the front desk, I believe her name was Rainey, gave us the cheeriest, warmest and most sincere reception we have ever received. My co-worker and I are both executives and travel quite extensively. Holiday Inn Express is typically our preferred chain. As seasoned travelers we typically are not looking forward to another hotel stay no matter which hotel. The warm reception we received from Rainey during checkin got our visit off to such a good start that it didn't really matter what followed, we left very satisfied with the visit. September 2, 2014
