Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Friendly Staff, but that's about all... I've stayed at HIE's across the country, and unfortunately this wasn't one of the better ones. The room was very dated, and not clean at all. The bathroom walls had holes in them, and the furniture (bedding, sofa, tables, etc.) needed replaced or updated. On a positive note, we did get a good nights sleep, which is the ultimate goal of staying in a hotel, but I'd prefer that the room is clean, as well as comfortable... February 26, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Manager and Staff I have been a weekly guest at this property beginning the first week of January. I am always greeted kindly by Macaulay at the front desk. The manager, Melanie, is always friendly and asks that I let her know if she or staff can do anything for me during my stay. The Tuesdy evening Managers Social is a great way to end a busiy day at the office w a snack and drink. This is a very nice touch and a big reason I stay at the property each week. Internet speed could use some work, breakfast is basic but always fresh. I will stay at this property whenever I am in Columbia. Very convenient to dining and shopping. Macaulay is the shinning star at this property for her professional approach and friendly nature. Evening staff should adopt her demenour. Melanie is a great Manager. February 25, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Initial courtesy via of Cell phone With winter weather driving threatening and darkness approaching in unfamiliar territory with two Holiday Inn Express facilities in the area, I called via cell the first one showing on my GPS to get clarity on location[ We were approaching near three major interstate highways intersections.] The calm,courteous, confident voice of the female on duty was reassuring/calming as I received perfect clarity about location and directions for shortest distance to arrive there. That was the beginning and that type of courteous, helpful staff continued throughout our stay. The manager special on Tuesday night (the night of our arrival late and not planning to go out again in the current weather conditions) was another perfect fit for us and chicken wings, Greek salad, and drink of our choice available as soon as we were registered and in our room. Personnel, to a person, were equally courteous and willing to extend help in any way; personalities of staff and cleanliness and quality of food served, and the comfortableness of the of facility keeps us coming back to Holiday Inn Express as we travel for business or pleasure.
