Great place to stay and within walking distance to restraunts.
only thing we don't like is the smoking allowed at the front
entrance to the hotel.
Not good for our small grand children to enhale second hand smoke

I love this location/hotel. This was my 5th visit, but this experience wasn't so great. Took 2 hours to finally get settled! There was only one person working by the time I arrived. I had a problem with my room and the employee at the front desk promised me twice she would come up and help. After waiting a long time I looked out into the lobby from the 2nd floor and saw her a few times not helping anymore and leaning towards the desk not doing much. I called again and when downstairs to see when I would finally be helped. I asked when would I be helped and she told me that she would have to go up to my room. I said ok and sat in the chair in front on the main desk. I waited for at least 20 min watching her "acting" busy. She even left the desk a few times. Even when it was just us in the lobby she never spoke to me about when she would help me. It wasn't until I got up and walked towards her is when she said she would help me. I was so confused. Why did she let me sit there this whole time when all I had to do was lose my patience.. She couldn't fix the problem and she told me she would have to move me to another room. So she had to go on the computer and change my room. Took a little while but it had been over 2 hours till I finally settled in my room. Also the day I was supposed to leave I saw a bill under my door. I was confused again because I already bought my room through a 3rd party website. So I went to the lobby to ask why I was being billed again. It was the same employee from the night before. I explained I already paid for the room and showed her conformation emails for proof. She didn't understand what I was saying and told me I had to pay the bill she game me. So I went to my room and called the main customer service number. I talked to a real nice lady and she told me I shouldn't have to pay the bill they game me. She put me on hold to call the front desk. When she came back she told me she called 5 times and she couldn't even talk to anyone. I told her about the employee and she told me she was sorry for the bad experience. I ended up leaving not having to pay the bill. I left a lot of stuff out but I felt this review was long enough... It was just a shame on the service after coming here so many times.

Many problems at the Cockrell Hill Holiday Inn that I have never experienced at other IHG properties. Breakfast was not on time, some of the hot [plate food was cold, and staff was totally non-responsive on this issue. Noise in the room was excessive because of fighting in adjacent rooms. Dirty bathroom. No regular coffee in the room or at the front desk. Difficulty in contacting the manager. Inattentive and non-responsive staff. Lack of promised follow through.
I am still a fan of the Holiday Inns brand, but we will not use this property again.

To many problems to explain about this place. Did not meet my expectation as a Holiday Inn Express. Problems during my stay
1. running toilet all night, told front desk never fixed
2. knob to pull up for shower stuck and very hard to pull up
3. door jams when trying to get out in the morning
4. phone near bed had broken cable for handle
5. they did not have a second spoon for the scrambled eggs at breakfast.
The front desk was informed of most of these issues and they were understanding. The problem is that they did nothing to resolve the problems. Are these rooms not checked before a Platinum Elite member checks in? Sorry but would not recommend this location until they correct all their problems.

We are IHG Platinum Members and have been for several years. We will drive out of the way just to stay at an IHG property. We never stay at any other brand if at all possible. We do not recommend this property. The evening staff was nice and pleasent and very helpfull. The morning staff were exceptionally rude. We were told we had a late checkout for 1pm. Housekeeping started knocking on our door at 8:30am. We told them we had a late checkout and they would return every 30 min and ask us again when we were going to leave and why we werent leaving yet. After 4 times of them coming to our room, I went to the front desk to compaliain. While I was at the front desk waiting to talk to the front desk personal, the houskeepers went to our room again and were yelling back and forth across the radios about the "Guest that wont leave". Housekeeping would stand outside our door and complain about us enough that we could hear inside the room.

I have stayed in at least 6 IHG hotels in the Dallas/Plano area in the last two years, and this is the best so far! It is modern and up to date in appearance and appeal. The beds were very comfortable and décor of the rooms and halls was refreshing. Stayed on the 4th floor so no noise problems. Breakfast items were fresh and dining area very clean. Thanks for such a wonderful stay!

Sumamente complacido con mi estancia en este hotel, no es la primera vez que necesito de usarlo y siempre que lo he usado para mi estancia temporal en Dallas, Tx ha sido una buena experiencia.
El servicio y la atencion del personal de recepcion/cocina/aseo fue magnifico.
Olvide un articulo personal al abandonar la habitacion y al llamar posteriormente, una vez que regrese a mi hogar, ya lo tenian identificado y guardado para que alguien pasara a recogerlo.

I have stayed at this location previously and all the stays have been fantastic. This stay I must have just gotten a horrible worn out bed. Bed caused me to not sleep well and wake up constantly with back pains. Pillows were also worn out not much stuffing left in them. Overall would stay here again. Staff is very friendly.

I called the hotel direct after getting a wait time on the reservation line. I told the front desk that but she still transferred me saying "I don't know how to do reservations but if it's still busy when I transfer you then call back and I'll get the manager to do it". Luckily there wasn't a wait time and I was taken care of. Also, I wasn't upgraded to the king suite like I am at all the other holiday inns. I know there was one available too.

Great location to meeting place.
Clean hotel and clean rooms.
Noise level was reasonable which did not impact sleep.
Parking was available almost any time I needed.
Close to anything one would need if you forget something.

My favorite thing about this hotel is that the rooms have a stand-up shower, rather than a tub shower. Additionally, with the glass wall, the shower is much brighter.
I will say, during this stay, I didn't have the same top notch breakfast as usual. The variety was great, but it seemed they couldn't keep up with demand. There were no hard-boiled eggs the first morning, and only one yogurt. The second morning they were almost out of biscuits.
All around great stay, though! I have stayed here previously and will not hesitate to book again.

This Holiday Inn Express was clean and pretty and appeared to be new. The staff was friendly. I was pleasantly surprised by the variety offered for breakfast, and pleased it was included in the cost of the room. I would definitely stay here again.

I have been coming to this hotel on a regular basis for three years now. When former Manager Mark shook ran the hotel everything was wonderful and we had no issues. He left and the downward trend has started. First off the front desk staff are generally friendly and are ok, still not to the standard of Mark's people. The cleaning staff is where you are getting your poor remarks. When I came back to my room one day the door was open completely unlocked. I has a couple of thousand dollars worth of computer equipment in that room, luckily it didn't get stolen. Second when the maid left the room unlocked she also left an orange soda on the counter. I went down to the front desk and let them know so they sent the head house keeper up to my room with me to verify. She looked at the maid's name and said "I have been waiting to write her @$$ up anyway." Not exactly what I would call professional, I agree that the maid did probably did need to be written up but was the cursing required? Also speaking of house keeping I did not get a bathroom floor mat 3 of the 5 five nights. I ended up using a regular towel. Also when I travel it is for my company who pays for the room off of a company card. I gave reception my personal card for incidentals, I grabbed some snacks from the suite shop and asked that they charge it to my personal card on file. Instead they charged it to my company credit card causing a big inconvenience trying to expense my business trip. I usually stay on the top floor like my preferences are set to and this time I was on the second floor. Right underneath an elephant doing calisthenics all night long at least that is what is sounded like for three of the five nights. One last minor detail they no longer recognize IHG members here apparently. I have no idea what happened to this once great hotel, but as for myself and my company if this doesn't turn around we will be looking else where for a place to stay.

I never rated an hie this high. This one had everything you could want at a very reasonable rate. Even had free weights in the fitness room. Swimming pool, plenty of channels on a good sized tv. Other hie's should take note and try to be this good.

When I checked in I was not greeted as an IHg member, was not offered the points or water. Later I called the desk to ask about the loud noise on the floor above thinking it was construction. But I was put on hold for a long time, finally I hung up and went to the desk.
The noise continued. Bring a very nice set of earplugs!

This hotel was so conveniently located to church conference. Was able to get from I-30 to the Loop in only minutes. Also surrounded by restaurants and retail shopping to meet all our needs! The staff went over and above our expectations to ensure that we were comfortable.

Nos dieron otra habitación mas pequeña, siendo que habíamos reservado una grande pues somos 2 adultos y 3 niños. Pero nos dieron un cuarto con una cama, un sofácama y un catre de metal. Mientras nos mandaban el catre, fuimos a la alberca, pero estaba descompuesta ese día. Regresamos y vimos televisión, ya más tarde desdoblamos el catre, pero el colchón estaba horrible. No había forma de dormir en "ese colchón". Así que quitamos el colchón. Al poco rato el niño se despertó adolorido. Así que decidimos poner las colchonetas del sofácama en el suelo con sabanas y cobijas.
Si les dan un catre, verifiquen el estado del colchón en ese momento. Porque si piden otro, es lo mismo. Mejor buscar otra habitación.

There was a lot of confusion on my stay. This was one of the first times we have called into IHG to make a reservation, we usually do them via the web so we can see what we are booking. For this one IHG booked the incorrect room for us, and we did not realize this until check-in. At that point the room could not changed as they did not have the room we wanted available. After check - out I realized I was double billed (points and CC charge). This took two phone calls to get fixed. On the good side the breakfast was good and there are plenty of restaurant choices and a Wal Mart relatively close. Given the amount of choices of IHG hotels in the DFW area I will stay elsewhere next time. This hotel was just not a good fit for me and my family.
