Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 80 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very Comfortable bed Priced comparably for others in the area, nice, clean rooms and friendly staff. October 19, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Nick at the front desk The check-in was quick, everything pre-prepared and Nick was very helpful. He even gave me a complimentary bottle of water which I was in need of after a dry, two-hour travel. I rated cleanliness below average because I found a drop of blood on the bathroom floor, which indicated to me that the floor had not been mopped. This was quite unnerving. I simply cleaned it up but from that point on, I did not walk on that floor in bare feet. I rated the variety of breakfast as I did as I had to leave for the airport earlier than the time in which breakfast was available. October 14, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable Rooms, Very Friendly Staff Close to Freeway, easy access, multiple restaurants in area. Staff were very friendly & professional. Very much recommend this location. October 13, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Would not choose this property again I travel for business and have come to dread visiting Dickinson due to the poor hotel selection and service you receive if you are “lucky” enough to get a reservation. I was pleased to see some new properties available and ultimately selected the HIExpress because I was able to book a room with a fridge and microwave which are two amenities that I like when I travel. I checked into the hotel and went to my room; it was immediately obvious that it was an accessible room (which I am careful to avoid when booking); I was also unable to locate any fridge. Since I stay in several hotels a week, I can’t always get the room type I prefer, so I decided to review my reservation confirmation. I had an e-mail confirmation for a queen suite booked three weeks before. When I contacted the front desk, I was told that I had booked a standard room. Even though I was able to read my confirmation to the desk clerk, he argued with me that I had not booked a suite and that he was sorry about the accessible room but that their room types are not guaranteed (HUH??). He also said that I had agreed to that room by initialing the rate (I guess technically that’s true, but I don’t have all of the rates for every room I stay in memorized; however, I wonder what he would have done if I had caught the error then as opposed to 10 minutes later??) Eventually, he agreed to see if he could move me to a different room. He called me back to let me know that since the hotel was fully booked (of course, it was, all hotels in Dickinson are fully booked) there was no suite available but he could move me to a single non-accessible room. At this point, I saw no advantage in that particular move, but asked if there was at least a way to get a fridge. He called back and said that he had located one and transported it to my room. I was grateful for this effort until I opened the door to put my things inside. The fridge had obviously not been cleaned since its previous use as there were black drips running down the inside of the door and the bottom was full of water. I wiped it out and gingerly placed my items on the center of the wire shelves. I will give him points for effort, but still think that my reservation should not have been screwed up and that it wasn’t the best customer service to argue with me when I had a confirmation in my possession. I also give this location low marks for the breakfast as only 15 minutes into the service there was a single dried up biscuit and cold (fatty) sausages in the warmer with no sign of new ones being placed. To date, I have received neither my “welcome” points nor the points it was indicated that I would receive for my “trouble”. Next trip I will try yet another property or possibly just stay in Bismarck and get up early to drive to Dickinson. October 12, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by fire your housekeepers The bathroom was just plain gross. There was garbage under the sink. The shower had hunks of hair all over it. The kleenex box was the type that changes color on the last few tissues so you know you're running out ... this one was already on the beige ones when we walked in so we got 2 tissues. No back up box and also not even a spare roll of toilet paper so probably bring your own I guess? The furniture is a gouged and marked up probably because the housekeepers beat it up with carts and vacuums. I get that you're in an oilboom and the WalMart is paying $15 an hour but I still paid full price for a dirty and beat up room. I would never stay at this hotel or even in Dickinson again because of the conditions here. If you're not going to control out of control drunk guests from partying, yelling, screaming and fighting then try and make the rooms more sound proof. I half wonder if because I was an IHG Reward member if we were given this room by the noisy drunks on purpose? Would definitely stay elsewhere next time. October 11, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by drunk oilworkers across the hall We wanted a nice place to relax but instead we got witness the lack of control by hotel staff to control bad behavior. Dickinson is in the midst of the oil boom. Not enough hotels, not enough restaurants and not enough bars. Laine answered the phone at the front desk when I called at about 7:30pm to complain that guys were drunk and screaming at each other right out in the hall and in the room across from us. Laine said he was the only person on duty and there was no way for him to come quiet them down so my wife and two sons endured guys drunk and high yelling, screaming and fighting until like 1 or 2 in the morning. I was shocked by this, that a hotel this size and on a weekend only had one person working there. Really? In my opinion this was terrible customer service and a total lack of control and dis-concern by management. Just give us your money and we do not care what type of experience you have with us. I'd love a refund because this was the worst stay I've ever had at a Holiday Inn Express. We booked two rooms and I'll save that review to comment on the conditions in the room, etc. October 11, 2014
