Although it is normally a good visit, this visit included water shut off for several hours without notification, owner walking into room without knocking and housekeeping supervisor walking into room after knock and swipe of key card and no announcement as to who it was. Upon arrival front desk personnel appeared to be on personal call and rather than put the person on hold, finished conversation, took another call and completed the new reservation before handling the person standing in front of her. She then asked if we wanted a gift bag for 500 points which included a bottle of warm water and trail mix. As always, the housekeeping staff did a consistently good job, as did the breakfast buffet and Wednesday night buffet staff. April 14, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I-85 Travelers Take Note Just off I -85 in Duncan SC this HI Express offers comfort for the weary traveler. It's tucked back on a frontage road so don't get lost trying to locate it. Your GPS will lead you too far up the road but your iPhone should take you to the correct place. And if all else fails, call the front desk, they will guide you right to the location. The rooms are very clean and quiet, which is surprising since it is about 400 yards from a major truck fueling center. I slept like a baby. Near to BMW and plenty of eats close by within a 2 to 3 mile area. March 15, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Relaxing stay with friendly staff I spent a couple of delightful days at this Holiday Inn Express. The front desk staff was pleasant, helpful; and easy to work with. The breakfast was filling with a nice variety of hot and cold choices; and a very clean environment. The staff that attended the breakfast was courteous and refreshing. The bed was fabulous, and after a hard day of off road motorcycling at the BMW Performance Center, it was so dearly appreciated. The freshness of the room, and with everything being so clean, I am certain to return here on my next visit. September 25, 2013

It is located behind a truck stop and off of I-85, but the room was still quiet. The breakfast was also nice. Would definitely stay again. September 7, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Where IS it? After a long day's drive, and looking for the next Holiday Inn Express to appear on the Lodging choices posted on the freeway, finding this Inn was ridiculous. After leaving the freeway exit ramp, all signs to find this inn were nowhere to be found. We had to ask a mechanic at a garage for help. The room was okay, but didn't measure up to the previous Holiday Inn Express locations we stayed at. The location was noisy since it is practically next to the freeway (after the exit ramp) where truck traffic sounded like it was right outside our window. OK in a pinch, but I would venture to another exit for the next HIE. Sorry for the disappointment. Thank goodness the free breakfasts in this chain are somewhat uniform and delicious. August 26, 2013

Very unfamilair with hotel by telling me ice machine on 2nd floor and there was no ice machine on the floor as the one on the first floor was not working. Was offered a small bottle of water at check in as a priority club member with 85,000 plus points, REALLY? August 19, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by One of the Best This is the only place I will stay at when doing business in the area. It is located between Spartanburg and Greenville making it an easy drive to either town. The staff here is friendly and courteous. It is also pretty quiet and we all know that depends on the other guests. Rooms are clean and the lobby is a wonderful place to sit back and people watch. Oh if you happen to be there on a Wednesday they supply a nice treat for the long day of work / play you just got back from. July 18, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Room I stopped at this hotel on my way home from Mississippi. The area is good because you are near a lot of restaurants and shops but the location of the hotel is remote. When I came in to ask if they had any rooms available the young lady behind the desk seem hesitant but said yes. I guess they are not use to people coming in without a reservation. The room itself was great and updated but the mattress was soft and the pillows even though two said firm, they were soft as well. They gave me the password for the internet upon check in and I did NOT have any problems with the internet access at all. The pool area was great as well. The breakfast area was nice but the selections are not. They do not offer any meat protein at all except in something that looks like oatmeal so we went to Cracker Barrell. The morning staff is great. I asked to extend my checkout time as a priority member and it was no problem at all. Overall I would definetly stay at this hotel again. July 4, 2013

The young lady working the reception desk upon arrival was especially helpful and friendly and was willing to do whatever I needed for a comfortable stay. There really was nothing else for her to do. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Amazing Customer Service!!! Upon our VERY late arrival (after midnight), front desk clerk was very pleasant and cheerful. After a very quick check in, she reviewed the times for breakfast. As we had to be back up and at our worksite at 3 AM, we would not be able to enjoy the breakfast. Jokingly, I commented "Maybe we can get an apple". When we came to the lobby at 2:30, she was in the kitchen, preparing a sack breakfast for my co-worker and I. This was a great surprise, and an amazing example of going the extra distance for your customer. After too many experiences of "Have a nice day" replacing "Thank you", and "Please pull ahead to wait for your order", it was refreshing to find somebody who understands what customer service is meant to be. I come to the area for a couple nights every month, and while my usual hotel does a good job, I will be a regular guest at the Holiday Inn Express. The room was very comfortable and clean. The lobby area was very inviting and nicely done. The breakfast (was able to eat at a normal time our second morning) was more than sufficient, with a good mix of hot and cold selections. The continental breakfasts were very surprising! Eggs, chipped beef, sausage & a machine that made pancakes!! Delicious, too! The swimming pool was large & very relaxing! The hotel is surrounded half way by a small wooded area so this is ideal for you to walk your pet around the hotel. My cat & I enjoyed our visit very much and I would definitely come back to stay again! March 3, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Don't Accidentally Leave Personal Items In Room Obviously, my medicine bag fell out of my luggage bag. After realizing this later that night, I called the hotel, it was found in the room I stayed in. I made arrangements to have it shipped to my residence. Once I received it, I noticed one of my much needed prescriptions were missing. Also, other items were left partially opened. I called the hotel to inform them that someone had been digging inside my bag and that I was missing a prescription as well. She asked what type it was, I told her, and she then proceeded to say that maybe I never placed the prescription back in my bag. I'm the customer - why would I want to wasted my Saturday calling her to discuss someone plainly stole this out of my bag. The only thing should could do was get the manager to call me on a workday. Now, I get to spend my weekend in pain. January 12, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by horrible beds dirty room heat did not work If you are disabled do not stay at this hotel. The toilet in the first room we had was not attached to the floor. We changed to the room for the disabled and the mattresses had hugh indentations in them and had not been replaced in years. The heat did not work and the room was dirty. When I spoke to the desk agent in the morning, he had little concern for my problem. Had to go to the chiropractor when I got home so I could stand up after my night in that room. December 3, 2012

Two things to bring with you if you plant on staying here. #1 a UV flashlight the area around the office chair on the floor and the seat of the office chair was covered in "genetic material" #2 a wireless card from a internet provider. If you try to download a file for just about any reason i.e system updates or video conferring forget it. The motels system will quarantine you and you will have to wait 5 min to reconnect. The mirror in the room I was in Room 313 was obviously vandalized and not replaced. At the transition from carpet to tile flooring has nails that are sharp and with the level of bio-hazard on the rug in this area I really recommend that you keep your shoes on. The only reason I picked this location was that it was 100% smoke free. And if you don't mind microwaved cooked eggs and bacon that you as see though then the breakfast is perfect. The room has a central HVAC unit but the thermostat is a programmable one that a office would have. Thankfully I know how to change the settings on it but to the normal traveler this thing would confuse the heck out of them. The lay out of the room is horrible. The vent for the HVAC system is right above the right side of the work desk and blows directly on you. And it can not be adjusted, It is really a register vent. If I had my tools with me I would have flipped it so it directs the air up and not down. The work desk looks like it has been thrown off a back of a truck on to pavement. For the size of the room the work desk needs to be much larger. The toilet is a power flush model and will wake the dead when it flushes. So you hear the toilets around you flushing at all hours. The best thing about the room was the bed. I actually got a good nights sleep (with earplugs) To block out the door slamming and toilets flushing. October 23, 2012
