Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Passing through Fort Stockton good choice for a quick overnight stay. Large, clean rooms and friendly staff even though we arrived without a reservation at about 1 AM. Breakfast choices could be better. Hotel was still very clean considering that major renovations were being done downstairs. Neither noise nor dust/dirt was an issue. Would definitely stay there again if in the area. Only downside was the room rate considering the location, but then again the choices in West Texas are a bit limited. July 30, 2015

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not up to HI Express standards Stayed at this HI Express in FT Stockton recently while moving from San Antonio to the west coast. I have stayed in a lot of HI Express hotels around the west and south and found them to be very consistent. This one is the exception. The Ft Stockton hotel had signs up about their renovation, but that doesn't mean they couldn't keep the elevator clean, or design the place with sufficient parking, or have vending machines on the floors (at a minimum). The room I was given must have been 90 degrees when I opened the door and took forever to cool down. Sorry, but overall this is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. July 27, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice room and good breakfast The room was nice and big, bathroom was nice and fully offered everything I needed. The bed was very comfortable and pillows were good. The room temperature was good and I did not hear any noise and slept through the night. The breakfast offered a variety of items and of course the famous cinnamon rolls were delicious! Even though the first floor was under renovation, it did not cause any issues for us during out overnight stay. July 24, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Unfriendy Staff This hotel had the most unfriendly staff of any name brand hotels in which I've stayed. Maid service did not occur on the third day of our stay, We reported this to the lobby staff. Did they care? NO! We ask to speak to the manager, about this and other disappointments, and of course, not available, but would contact us…never did. Several years ago this was an excellent hotel with a most accommodating staff. But, alas. I think they have a new owner who obviously does not care about customer satisfaction. There are other hotels in Fort Stockton and I will certainly stay elsewhere the next time I visit. Never again at this Holiday Inn Express. Other examples of dissatisfaction: they have been remodeling for a very long time (we stayed in March, and I thought surely they would be finished in late July). There is no restroom available on the first floor (lobby, breakfast area, which they advertise, but I find totally unacceptable). Drinks purchased in the lobby can not be charged to the room; "the owner won't let us do that." What other hotel in the USA has this restriction? A total unsatisfactory experience. Never again will I stay at this Holiday Inn Express. Mark it off your list! July 23, 2015

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Still under construction Upon completion this will be a nice property. For now, this is pretty rough property. No bathrooms outside of the rooms, no pool usage, the entire bottom floor is still under construction and even the upper rooms are not 100% ready for guests. Would be great to revisit in about 2 months but then again who wants to visit Ft. Stockton? July 13, 2015
