Stay was comfortable and in the middle of a 13 drive. HI Express is very consistent with the great place to stay.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Peter S. Clean and restful
As usual, this Holiday Inn Express was clean, comfortable and provided a well needed good night's rest. The staff was friendly and the check in and check out process was easy. The food choices for breakfast were limited and not of high quality. This is an area that could be improved.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by ValleyTraveller An air conditioner is for more than just air
Everybody knows that an air conditioner in a motel room is for more than air. The continuous fan masks external noises and provides a steady sound to give one a good night's sleep. Fort Stockton is a very noisy place with hundreds of 18-wheeler trucks going and coming (and the hotel is undergoing a re-model). The management of this establishment decided that they could save a few cents if they disabled the 'continuous on' fan control. The fan ALWAYS shuts off when the pre-selected temperature is reached, leaving us to hear all the outside noises. Not only that, but the sound of the fan starting and stopping woke us up several times during the night. In an attempt to keep the fan going, we had to set the temperature to the lowest it would go - which uses a LOT more energy than the few cents saved on the fan motor going off.
I doubt seriously that any of the management have ever spent a night in one of the rooms.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Grumpy Old Man (Tucson) Comfortable bed equals good night's sleep.
While the hotel rate is on par with, or slightly higher than the next door competition, the quality of the bed itself, not too hard or soft, is worth the price differential.
While it may be somewhat difficult to place a dollar value on a good night's sleep after an entire day of driving, I definitely say that for me, the price differential is well worth the money.

We pass through Fort Stockton to San Antonio at least once a year to visit grandchildren, so this is the perfect distance for the last leg on the journey to and from California. We always stay at this property.
