Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable room, bed and pillows. This hotel is under rennovation; however the floor I stayed on had already been done. Comfortable, clean, good beds and pillows, clean and bright bathroom. Ice machine on my floor didn't work. Went to the first floor and used that one. Didn't partake of the breakfast but I did look in and it is the same great breakfast that Holiday Inn traditionally serves. I really wanted one of their famous cinnamon rolls and could smell them calling me but my travelling companion wanted to just get on the road. Price seems high for Ft Stockton but then again you have to realize it is Ft Stockton and unless you want to drive another 4 hours in either direction, there is no other stop over place in the Texas desert. Price is comparable to other similar branded hotels there. January 22, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bad experience and costumer service We were driving by to go to El Paso and we decided to stay in Fort Stockton because there was a bad weather. We stayed many other time at Holyday Inn Express and never had such a bad experience. The appearance of the guy at the front desk was horrible, He was very rude and had a bad attitude. Once we got to the room, it had a very bad odors from possible urine on carpet and restroom. the restroom also had signs of mold. The next morning at breakfast there was a poor selection of items and as I was leaving I stood in front of the desk to see if the 2 girls would stop talking to each other to check out but there was not signs of it so I had to interrupt their conversation to be check out. We had a very bad experience!! It looks like because is property own hotel, they just don't care about it. They should take some costumer service training and more in my opinion January 12, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by found a hotel in an ice storm Were able to get a room for my family the evening of an ice storm. Got a discount on the suite. Pullout couch was full-sized but uncomfortable. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful and filling. Bottled waters were free. Staff was very nice. January 4, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by 6 HIE hotels this trip - this one was most expensive Paid more than twice the cost of other hotels on this Christmas journey. Booked online, so I knew about the cost beforehand. Was surprised to pay more than double and discover that were were fewer usable amenities. For example, this was the only HIE hotel where the swimming pool was closed this trip. Also, all the other hotels charged a $100 deposit. This one - $200! I checked, and the towels and sheets did not have pure gold braiding!?!? The money was refunded without incident; but it seemed outrageous to me to have to pay $200 cash deposit simply to sleep several hours. Luckily I had it with me, but what if I didn't? This extra cost was NOT explained when making the reservation. The other HIE hotels had told me about the $100 deposit, so I knew I had to have the cash handy. The good news is the staff as friendly, and shared information about their favorite restaurant, which we found we also enjoyed. December 31, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not up to IHG Standards We have stayed here before and liked it. Not much choice between Houston and El Paso. The walls are very thin so you can here your neighbors. Not fun at 1:00 am when they turn on the TV and wake you. The rooms are very large but not well laid out. It's hard to see the cheap, small TV mounted on the wall from the chairs. It should be a 46" TV. There is a huge entry area that serves no purpose. Beds and bathroom are nice. Landscaping is going to be redone in the Spring, according to management. Our room (312) was remodeled but the carpet was stained. Very nice and responsive staff. They are remodeling the 2nd floor now and so it's a bit noisy if you are there during the day, which we were.
