Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Business travelers take note The internet service is terrible at this property, or at least it was on the date of my stay. If your travel requires internet access, consider another property. The quality of the internet was very poor. The wireless connection kept shutting down or was simply a bad signal. the desk staff acknowledge they have had such problems quite a bit and had several complaints. No solution was forthcoming. Hotel management did make an adjustment on the bill, but that did not correct my inability to complete needed work the prior evening. Otherwise, the hotel was found to be quite comfortable with good friendly staff and standard HI Express breakfast. January 11, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by needed better house keeping no body lotion, no laundry bay, hand towel dirty, hair & dirt behind bath door and the waste basket in bath room had bags in it but under that the basket was nasty. I report it to desk she said she was sorry and gave me$ 20.00 , which I appreciated but house cleaning needs attention. I will try it on my way home but will inspect rooms before I sign in. We left before breakfast so I can't comment on that January 2, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by OK but.... Got there in the dark and the hotel was dark too. Signage lights were not working making it difficult to find the place. Had to call the hotel for directions as the I-95 exit has a sign pointing to an Express hotel 13 miles away. Not the one I wanted. First floor room was noisy from kids playing above. And the place is pet friendly so expect a dog bark at 7AM as a wake up call. December 28, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not My Favorite Holiday Inn Express I've stayed at different Holiday Inn Expresses, and this one did not rate as high as the others. The lobby was nicely decorated, and cookies and coffee were available. Our room was so dim! They need to improve the lighting. There was half a sandwich in the mini-fridge, which speaks to the lack of thorough cleaning. The mattresses were not as firm as other locations, the pillows were not as fluffy. The linens were somewhat wrinkled. The heating/cooling didn't work well so the room was either too warm or too cold. The remote control was a newer antimicrobial model, which was nice. There were many TV channels available, however there wasn't a list to guide you. A little effort could make that available. The breakfast was far inferior to other locations. The 2 coffee urns were empty when I arrived. The eggs and other "hot" items weren't hot. The pancake machine made the smallest silver dollar size I've ever seen. At a different location the previous day, they were the size of the plate. There weren't any tongs by the bread selections, so patrons were using their hands. Yuck!!! December 8, 2013

It is a convenient stop for us and we have always been treated nice by the Hotel Staff. The rooms are comfortable, clean and sanitary. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wishing a good nights rest on a weary trip. December 7, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Hotel getting tired Have stayed at this hotel many times and although it's not that old it's getting tired. Breakfast was almost as good as always except the buns that i dream of were just warm. Six trays were in the warmer and the breakfast lady seemed more interested in putting her food delivery away. Hotel was full, dining room at 7am was full and she had other interests. Hardeeville is our 2nd night on a 1500 mile trip. We'll go a little further next time. November 24, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by comfortable beds, good for disabled elderly We stayed at this hotel two week before this visit at the beginning of our trip. The staff at check in were wonderful. However, on this visit, it was almost as if we were an interruption and inconvience to them. My mother remembered cookies being available and asked about them. The man at the desk barked out, cookies were only available mon to thurs. It was the way it was said. The warmth of reception wasn't as nice for this return visit. Other than that, the stay was wonderful. The lady in the breakfast area provided wonderful service and assisted my mother. check out was fine. November 5, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great room, but stinky The room was beautiful. The only issue I had was upon entering the room the room smelled very strongly of dirty diaper. The housekeeper sprayed the room with deodorizer, but the smell lingered. I was compensated for the smell, but I was not impressed with being told that if I wanted to move rooms I would have to pay an extra 20.00 on top of everything I was already paying. Then my husband tried getting online with our computer and it was Extremely slow. It would have been nice to be informed that the internet was being worked on so we would have known. Other than that it was a wonderful stay. October 24, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Never again We travel the I 95 corridor frequently and have stayed at numerous HI Express locations between FL and VA, with complete satisfaction. This, however, is our third (and last) stay at this hotel. First stay, pet friendly room not available as requested on reservation; second stay, wrong room assigned with no vacancy for correct room; last stay, again wrong room - we reserved king leisure non smoking and received two queen handicapped room. We didn't complain about the wrong room when arriving, just chalked it up to another bad experience here. It was later in the evening, and we didn't feel like dealing with a change. Next morning, we attempted to use the bathroom and found that the toilet was non-functioning after using it. The flush handle did not work at all. I had to remove the back lid and manually flush the toilet. It never did really flush correctly, and, since we were in a hurry to get on the road, we had to use the restrooms in the lobby before leaving. The room attendant MUST have known the toilet wasn't functioning when last cleaning it, yet did nothing to correct. I also did not receive and IHG Rewards Club welcome packet upon arrival, even though I identified myself as an IHG member. October 24, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by dirty sheets, dirty coffee pot, spills on bathroom floor, overall not appealing i would never stay here again. mistakes are one thing, dirty is quite another. There is NO excuse for not making your rooms appealing and keeping them clean. Leaving coffee spills on the floor of the bathroom, cracked and chipped coffee pot still with coffee in it, and old sheets on the bed is just irresponsible and disgusting. Unfortunately, it also speaks volumes about your lack of responsibility to the consumers. needless to say, not only will I never return, I intend to make my displeasure and disgust known. We arrived at Holiday Inn Express in the middle of the night after a big disappointment at another hotel. We were so pleased to be treated so well and have a clean and comfy bed. Everyone was so kind and friendly. The room was nice and clean. We only planned on staying there one night but everything was so nice we stayed another night! I highly recommend this hotel! Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Never Stay Here!!!! This was the worst experience at a Holiday Inn Express ever. Staff was not courteous when we checked in. They did not mention that I was a Priority member. I asked for directions for a restaurant and after 10 miles I realized I was given the wrong directions. NOT complicated, just either take a right or left out of the parking lot. Her response was "not sure, take a left and go until you see it". They were checking in people with dogs!! Usually this is a no-no with HIE, the reason we stay at HIE. The last thing I want is to share a room where dogs are staying. Breakfast was horrible. The cereal was stale, the bananas were way over ripe to the point of rotten, and the staff was unresponsive. When my wife said hello (Or Good morning) to one of the staff, they just walked by. October 11, 2013

We didn't have a reservation, but when the front desk person entered my information, I was greeted as a Rewards member. The place was clean and the bed was super comfortable! Breakfast was good and the coffee was plentiful. I like how it backed up to the woods and that they have bird feeders outside the window of the breakfast room. We were able to sit and watch the birds as we drank our morning coffee! Conveniently located next to a service station and easy access off and on I-95 was a plus. A bit over priced for the location, but the positive experience made it worth paying. October 11, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Clean and quiet Stayed here one night on way to Florida. Lobby, halls, food area and room all very clean and attractive. Our room faced wooded area in back - very quiet. We did not hear passing trains except when we were already awake - no problems sleeping. Love the high quality towels, sheets, pillows and good furniture. Excellent reading chair with a good light! Food choices tasty, varied and all well stocked. Food service personnel very helpful. Receptionists were not as pleasant and welcoming as they should have been. I know that some guests may be demanding and unpleasant, but no hotel employee should be "snippy" or curt to a courteous customer. October 11, 2013

The only negative comment I have is we were next to the laundry room on the 2nd floor and the staff was having a very long conversation VERY early in the morning. However, the pool area was shabby with plaster falling off walls and laying on the floor. The floor of the hot tub did not look too clean. The room had some fallen plaster in the bath, but the pool area was truly pitiful! September 1, 2013

Went to front desk after, they went in back, did something and we had hot water the last day. Breakfast was wonderful - better than expected. August 29, 2013
