Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by extended business stay The hotel had many excellent qualities found at 3 star hotels, rooms were clean and in good condition, were kept clean for my entire 3 week stay. Breakfast was good, food was never old or sat in the warmer all morning. Plenty of fresh coffee when ever needed. October 7, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best Value in the Area I truly enjoyed my recent stay. The hotel is clean and comfortable, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the free continental breakfast is good. The hotel offers free WiFi Internet for all rooms and it is fast. One of the nicest things about this hotel that sets it apart is the lovely indoor swimming pool that is open year round. The fitness room is also clean and well maintained. The hotel is in a convenient location just off Highway I-287 and is only 40 minutes away from NY city. The hotel has free parking. October 5, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Efficient, quiet, clean. We stay here often on long trips to and from Boston from NC. Clean and quiet. Breakfast has bananas, apples, boiled eggs, and skim milk as good healthy options. Coffee could be stronger. Staff should not smoke out front. September 3, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Visit - but This property is rather new, but it is starting to show age, specifically the shower/tub area (room 412). The caulking is getting dingy and the tub had a chip in the enamel, which is starting to rust. Also the shower head is showing some hard water build up.The little details do start to add up, so I hope these items are addressed. Otherwise, this hotel continues to be an excellent value and a comfortable place to stay. I will continue to use it in the future. August 30, 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointed again. Alex and Jack are friendly and helpful as usual. They are the only staff members that should be working in the hospitality business. The females that work there are not helpful at all. They seem bothered by any requests. They are rude when I need help. Also, on the phone they told me they were fully booked and didn't have any rooms available but online there were a few available. The breakfast is HORRIBLE. Everything but the cereal is totally disgusting. The lady who is in charge of breakfast is rude and rushes you to finish eating. I witnessed her telling MANY guest to throw their stuff in the garbage and get up from the table. I do not recommend this location to anyone. I have stayed here many times and the problems are always the same. August 8, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Work out the kinks The room was nice but the tv had issues and we could not watch every channel-the front desk staff did offer to change our room but after unpacking and settling in who wants to do that. We also had to get our key "re-activated" twice within a 2 day stay and no I did not put it next to my cell phone or a magnet. The room was clean and sufficient. June 3, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by No concern for security I stayed at this hotel twice within a week. May 10-12 to visit my Grandmother, May 14-16 for her funeral. On both visits I found the external door propped open with rocks so the hotel staff could go outside and smoke. The staff smoked right at the door, it stunk, and they never removed the rock. I brought this to the attention of the hotel front desk and both mentioned they knew it was a problem but nothing was ever done to fix it. If you travel a lot and stay in holtes a lot safe and secure is something that is on your list of things that are important. The point of one intrance and you must have a key to get into the interior of a hotel is for guest security. It is sad the the hotel staff has no appreciation for guest security. to bad. May 23, 2013

Thermostat on wall doesn't work, pillows were lumpy, and towels were very rough on day 2. Not a good overall experience. Won't be back. May 13, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Repeat Customer March 2012 we first used the Wanaque (Haskell) Holiday Inn Express for an unexpected death of a family member. They were very accomadating to us and out of state family members. The experiance at the hotel was positive but we did not write a review at that time. April 26, 2013 we arrived at the hotel again for a more pleasant experiance, the Lakeland High School Class of 63 reunion. I contacted the hotel by phone and placed my room reservation. A very pleasant young lady accomadated me and I had a e-mail confirmation within minutes. Desk employees were very accomadting during out stay. We met many out of state classmates in the lounge during breakfast and began to catch up on our lives and start the day. I would recommed it to any of the local high schools who plan reunions in the local area. April 29, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Just okay I stay at a lot of Holiday Inn Expresses, but this one was particularly disappointing. The heat in my room never came on even though I cranked it up as high as it would go. Also, the number of towels I was given was barely enough. Since I was only staying here for one night, I didn't bring up any of these issues, but I typically don't have these problems when I stay at these hotels in other locations throughout the country. On the plus side, breakfast was pretty decent and the staff was not rude. The room was also clean and parking was pretty convenient. March 15, 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by They checked me out of my room and I prepaid! My company paid for my weekly hotel room in advance. This was to limit the number of personal expenses I would have to submit when I returned. My stay was Sunday - Friday, yet on Wednesday when I returned from class I had been checked out of my room and my money refunded! I spoke to the front desk clerk and she told me that I would just have to wait until Thursday morning to speak to a manager. Obviously, being from out of town and no room to sleep in this was not going to work for me. We eventually worked it out, but I was not happy with the house keeping staff that instructed the front desk to check me out. In addition, they only had one elevator--which could only accommodate 4 people, the coffee was constantly cold in the mornings, and my room had window heat/air which never adjusted the room's temperature to a comfortable setting. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good location, nice staff, stay could be better As a Platinum member I've stayed in many HI Express hotels. While the location is very convenient to Route 287, here are a few recommendations: 1. Give more than one bath towel. 2. For breakfast, when the juice machine is broke.....put out containers of OJ. 3. Find some way to redirect the AC/Heat in the room from blowing directly on you as you sleep. More importantly, address the noise. For a newer hotel it is hard to believe that the noise level could not be better managed in these hotels. The unit noise is not unique to this location. Look for a different manufacturer or design. HI should remember that as the price keeps going up and up.....so should the quality. Most changes have been terrific....keep it up! December 2, 2012

Our room was not serviced at all the second night of our stay and we had to go down to the desk when we returned to get fresh towels. We put our trash cans outside our room to be emptied and it took about an hour until someone came to empty them and then they did not set they up for reuse which we had to do. Gym was unusable. We were running late due to miscommunication of check-out time, manager was pleasant but desk clerk was rude. Doubtful we'd stay here again. November 23, 2012

I did not like the air conditioner blowing at me while working at the desk. Move the desk in an other location and the problem is solved. Fair value for the price. November 21, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Safe haven after the storm Due to the storm I was unable to book a room at my regular hotel. I often travel with my dog and it was hard to find a room at a good rate, near my destination, that also allowed dogs. Holiday Inn Express at Haskell solved my problem. It is a great hotel and only a little further to travel. The morning breakfast is excellent and I enjoy the indoor pool. Thanks for the great service. November 19, 2012

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Much better than expected The staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and large. The breakfast was a nice variety and changed each morning. The fitness center is very small not much equipment. Two treadmills and an excercise bike. Fortunately it was nice enough outside to walk. Overall a very enjoyable weekend.
