Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A leisure stay This Holiday Inn was surprisingly better than my previous experiences with Holiday Inn. The facilitates were nice and maintained. Two things I didnt like were the inattentiveness of the staff. They were all a bit aloof and not fully listening to my concerns but then again it's only a Holiday Inn. The second is the set up of the room. I took a king size bed with a sofa on the side. The desk was positioned deep into the interior of the room as well as the couch so when I studied by the desk (which was the purpose of my trip) I barely received any sunlight bc my body blocked the light in the way they positioned the desk. The couch awkwardly faced the bed and wasn't very comfortable so it wasn't very inviting or used. November 12, 2014

Only issues I've had here are noise from highway (which is worse on higher floors and on one side) and that the internet can bog a bit. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Never Again Not only were the elevators smelly, and the rooms average at best. There was a power outage at the property and they did not have backup generators for the rooms, only the main lobby. Try getting ready for a wedding, shaving showering and ironing with no electricity. What a disaster, and what did the hotel do, nothing. Not an apology, a note under the door or anything. At the very least, they should have tried to compensate guests for the inconvenience by reducing the price I paid, but no. The outage was for over an hour, and i was late to my wedding thanks to the holiday inn's, inability to prepare for mother nature. This will be my last stay at a holiday inn, a franchise i have enjoyed numerous other times. Unfortunately the lack of customer service during an emergency, and their lack of ability to try to appease guests in some way to compensate for the huge inconvenience is steering me to a new hotel chain. I highly recommend that you do not stay here. If it happened to me it could happen to you. November 5, 2014

The wireless internet is easy to connect and the speed is good. I will definitely stay again next time when I come back for the same business trip. November 2, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Confusing Stay I enjoyed the hotel itself and found the room, food to be very pleasant. What was confusing to me is that the hotel seems to offer short term housing assistance. As I think this is a wonderful thing, I was concerned having my children in the elevator and pool area with people that either appeared to be under the influence or just plain made me nervous. It would be nice for the hotel to let visitors with children know and let them make their own decision as difficult as that may be. October 29, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Business Stay October 6 The stay was OK, the breakfast was the average Holiday Inn breakfast, not great but not bad either. I was surprised and somewhat disappointed not to have the desk clerk thank me for being a IHG member, wasn't offered the points or the usual snack pack. The recognition isn't why I stay, the HI Express hotels are usually the best for the price, I don't need a hotel with a night club in it to make my stay, the complimentary breakfast is nice and the staff are usually pretty good. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Very poor experience Although the staff is attentive and the common areas nice, the room carpet smelt like urine, which was very unpleasant. The breakfast was disappointing, especially since it has been advertised as much improved. We had little choice but to stay as the area was booked solid. We frequently stay in the area, but will drive from outside the area if need be rather than chose to stay here again. October 16, 2014

The staff goes out of their way to make you feel at home. They are all smiles and recognize you after their initial encounter with you. James the manager has set the bar very high for all other hotels to reach. This last sta u was for a getaway weekend and they did not disappoint. Though the hotel itself was nice, I'm a bit disappointed at no attempt to contact us after our stay. We had brought a personal pillow with us and upon leaving, we left it behind accidentally. We didn't realize it until we reached our next destination. I sent an email (no phone service at the resort) via the "email hotel" on their webpage regarding the item. I did not receive an email back or any other communication. I feel the hotel should have made some attempt to get the item back to us. I gave the "staff and service" a poor marking because of this. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A night in Hauppuage I stayed here while visiting my alma mater for Homecoming. Check-in was quick and friendly, even though I was earlier than official check-in time. The room was well appointed and clean. I didn't spend a lot of time at the hotel the day of my arrival as I was headed from the homecoming festivities. Wne I returned later that evening, I was able to connect to the wifi relatively quickly and to take care of my personal business thereon efficiently before I collapsed into bed. I was able to sleep soundly - not always the case for me in hotels - and probably would have made it to the alarm had it not been for the staff in the room next door, getting ready to serve breakfast. (I was in the room next to the Great Room.) I can recommend a stay here as long as you don't get that room. October 2, 2014

Served fresh baked cookies and popcorn in the evenings. Seemed truly concerned that my stay be as pleasant as possible.
