She was very nice and every morning she greeted us with a pleasant smile and "good morning" she is AWESOME!!!! We will be returning to Jacksonville again soon and will stay at this location. It's also close to Atlantic Beach. April 3, 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Do not stay here! If you want to have zero sleep then this is the place for you. I complained to the front desk about all the noise, and they did nothing. I am not sure who is the night time management but.... Either they can not hear or they do not care. Yelling was going on all night. It was the worst experience I have ever had in any hotel. When I checked out the next morning, I told the front desk again about my experience. She said she would tell the manager, that was over a week ago and I have heard nothing and still had to pay full price for a horrible night. If I had not been in my car for 12 hours that day. I would have just went to my car to sleep. March 9, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Internet I stay at Holiday Inn properties all over the country and this by far has to be the worst for WiFi connectivity. I have stayed here several times and no matter what floor or location of the room the connectivity is the worst I have ever experienced. Although the hotel and the staff are exceptional I will have to think twice before I stay here in the future simply because of this single issue. I recommend you have someone come in and either update or change your setup. March 7, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Didn't like change to Priority Club recognition From previous visits I was greeted upon arrival as a priority club member with a goodie package. During my check-in, I didn't receive a Priority Greeting and didn't get my goodie bag. Per the agent at the counter, it is a new corporate change to not provide a goodie bag. Unsure when this changed but I don't care for the policy change and would like to get my bag on future visits. Besides this, it was a good experience and would possibly stay here in the future. The hotel was very clean, staff pleasant and we stayed in one of the king suites which allowed us to relax in a larger room with a couch and chairs. I would recommend staying here again if you are not wanting a beach front hotel. February 17, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good for the price I stayed here on a business trip. The price was right and it was just enough "outside" of town that I didn't have to deal with any traffic, even when getting onto Atlantic and 295 during morning rush hour. Upon arrival, I was concerned when I read a sign saying that the water was going to be turned off for a few hours (estimated at 2 with a max of 4) in order to complete annual testing/maintenance. Turns out, it wasn't a big deal since it happened during the middle of the day and probably didn't impact too many people. No issues there. My room didn't have a TV remote when I first arrived, but the situation was quickly and easily fixed by a 2 minute walk up to the front desk. The room was in nice shape, though I was honestly expecting a traditional "desk" instead of a smaller coffee-table (I've been to a dozen HIE's over the past 6 months and all had had desks). No biggie really, as I still had ample space to get my evening "administrative" work wrapped up before dinner time. One thing I will note - the stay here includes free wi-fi. However, it is probably the slowest internet connection I've ever had, sans maybe my 14.4k modem back when I had a Mac Performer 495C during the early 90's. I like to catch up on Netflix/Hulu when I'm on the road (at home, it's mostly Sponge Bob and Curious George), but the poor connection speed lead to choppy service and I gave up using the free Wi-Fi quickly. I normally travel with a 4G Hotspot but had an issue with the SIM card, which meant I was stuck watching Moon Shiners (could have been worse I guess). The next day I went to the VZW store and fixed my Jetpack and was able to get proper internet speeds with that (and thus able to catch up on my Daily Show/Colbert Report's from the previous week :) ). All in all, I will be coming back to this area in about 6 months and will likely stay here again. Breakfast was good and on-time (I'm an early bird and hit the road by 6:20, so I need breakfast to be prompt!). The coffee was good, though the 6 large coffee carafes were rarely filled after 1 PM (I drink coffee all day). Of the three nights I stayed, one night had no coffee (6 empty carafes), the second had hot, fresh coffee, and the third had fresh, though lukewarm coffee. The hotel is about 15 minutes from Atlantic Beach and some good restaurants. Parking is easy and the lot was well marked, easy to find, and well lit. My recommendations: - Fix the internet. Seriously, I checked the speed with a known server and it was BELOW 1.2 Mbps. For comparison, my cell-tower based 4G LTE Jetpack gets 11-12 (a whole order of magnitude faster!) - Hot coffee at the coffee bar. If coffee isn't actually "served" at all hours (I'm pretty certain it is based off my experience at other Holiday Inn Expresses and the fact that there was cold creamer packs sitting next to the carafes), you should put them away as to not get the hopes up of someone who just put 400 miles on their rental in a single day. The staff is extremely accommodating with customizable check-in and check-out times. I had a dog with me and there was ample room for dog walking. I was put in a very convenient room where I could go down one flight of stairs when needing to walk the dog. February 9, 2014

This was my first multi-night stay and I can guarantee that I will be staying in this hotel again. The staff is wonderful. I had booked a 2 queen bed room but would have been happier in a king. Well, without having to say anything, a king suite was offered to me. I asked for a taxi recommendation and was not only given the recommendation but was asked if I would like the front desk to call for me. My suite was very comfortable and clean. I enjoyed the breakfast options. It was a very pleasant stay and I look forward to my next trip to Jacksonville! January 26, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice newer property This HIE is located just west of Atlantic Beach (appx 1.5 miles)and all the fun things to do there. This being said, Mayport road on which it sits isn't the best for things to do. However, It is a newer property which is modern and clean. The staff was attentive and the breakfast was bigger than most complimentary breakfast. My only complaint during my 2 night stay would be the inability to run the fan all the time. I like that back ground "white" noise to mask outside noises and help me sleep at night. This is especially true when your room is on the 1st floor, next to the elevator and breakfast room!! Overall I liked the property and will return if the pricing is as good as it was for this past visit. November 6, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Place to Stay After we arrived and checked in we left to visit our daughter who lives in town. we got back late that evening and I turned on the TV to see football college scores, the TV was frozen and said no signal. I was tried and went to sleep, the next morning I told the front desk person and she came right to my room and took care of the problem. The service was great, and the breakfast was hot and plenty. Could have had more fruit, only bananas. Room was clean through and through. Overall I WILL stay here again. October 9, 2013

The biggest problem we had was the lack of any kind of cell reception in the hotel. We also tried using the Wifi but that seemed unreliable as well. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Stay! Very Very Clean! I booked the hotel to relax with my boyfriend away from home. I will admit I do have a slight case of OCD before I begin. I LOVED the cleanliness and comfort of the hotel. The breakfast was OK but I wasn't going for a buffet anyway lol The location is a little offset but the beach is literally 3 mins away. I would def recommend the stay but not for a family with kids (location wise); staying on the beach may be better for them. It is also only 40 mins away from St. Augustine, Fl (if you get bored like us in Jacksonville quickly). August 16, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by The "there you go" treatment My wife and I stayed 5 days here for a family reunion. All of the staff was grat except one of the front desk clerks, never engaging which is ok but upon checking out at 5am to catch flight, the only expression was "There you Go" to handing me my receipt. I ignore people like that because they have personal issues unrelated to me. She just appeared to always be unhappy (even during midday times assign through lobby) as though she'd rather be some place else. Other than that, other staff were very helpful/pleasant.
