We did enjoy our stay at Jasper. Desk personnell was top of the line. Checking was perfect and genuinely made welcome.
Breakfast crew needs to pay attention to levels. Coffee ran out, no breakfast meats, Cinamon rolls ran short had to wait. Eggs had to wait on. The person was there but did not pay attention to detail.

On the exterior, this is your pretty normal HIE. I stay at a lot of these places in my travels for work because they're typically of good quality and the rewards from priority club are some of the best out there. I found myself at this particular HIE for most of the month of December while relocating to the area.
The breakfast area is top notch and the hotel staff are friendly and extremely helpful. I can't say how much this review should not reflect on the staff. They are great and do everything they can to make the stay like home. Even the housekeepers should be applauded as this is the cleanest hotel I've ever been inside.
Now, with that said, it apparent that the rooms are aging and that the hotel owner is skimping on updating the rooms. First, I got stuck in room 201 for about a weeks worth of time. This room is a king bed with handicap access. One look at that king bed and you know it's not going to be a good night. Even with the bed made up, you can see that the bed is completely concave with the center point being about 5 inches lower than the sides. It was by far the most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept in. I had to sleep in the dead center of the bed to keep from feeling like I was going to roll.
Second, the air conditioner/heater unit in these rooms need to be addressed. Also, preheat your rooms! I walked into rooms 201 (on two occassions) and 322 to find the room was like a freezer. In all 3 cases it took over an hour just to get the room comfortable. In room 201, you have two heating choices: off and burn your face off. No matter what you set the temp control to, that unit comes on every 2-3 minutes, runs for 5 minutes, and starts over again. I had it set to 55 degrees before it seemed to keep the room in the low 70s. In room 322, being on the south side of the building, I could feel the wind blowing in through the unit and I'm not talking about some little draft, I'm being literal when I say the wind was blowing through. Even with the heat on, you'd feel the temperature shift when the unit went off and the wind started to take over to quickly cool the room.
Even though it means missing the reward points, I am going to be staying somewhere else my next visit. It just isn't worth it to spend that much for a room and walk away uncomfortable and restless.

The best stay we have had in a very long time at a Holiday Inn.
The young lady that checked us in was wonderful and we had very good conversation. She had just recently broke her foot do to a tumor. Then the young lady that was on staff Friday evening and then again on Saturday morning was a pure joy - lovely conversation as well The lady in charge of the breakfast did her job very well and was very friendly as well. Have never encountered a staff that this friendly ever at a Holiday Inn Express. If we are in the area again - definitely will stay.

We were pleasantly greeted with a freshness and cleanliness that is very unusual for a hotel. It seemed so new.
We were in the area for the Christkindlemarkt and would return to this location. Everything was clean. Breakfast was enjoyable and staff was friendly.

The room had an odor and was a little dirty. The pen that is on the night stand had been chewed on and should have been thrown away not put out for the next guest. The person that check me in was NOT friendly or welcoming. Would not stay again unless NOTHING else was available.
