Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by It was a great evening with our grandqughter value for money. No problems at all staff were helpful and good breakfast, will certainly recommend. We will also have no hesitation about using any of your hotels in the future. The staff were great the only slight problem was no games for children to play with in lounge and had run out of colouring, other than this which was not an issue. But as there were lots of children at this particular venue it might be something to look to for the future. August 14, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 Holiday Inn express Kettering Overall the stay was very pleasant, just the small issue of breakfast being understaffed as 2 waitresses called in sick on the same morning and the 1 remaining waitress was rushed off her feet trying to fill the role of 3 people so there were issues with tables not being cleaned quickly, food not being replenished quickly and crockery and cutlery running out. This was no fault of the waitress who was polite and helpful even though she was extremely busy trying to juggle all the different things needed to keep the breakfast running smoothly. In fact I feel that she should be commended as it was a difficult task and some customers were not happy or understanding. July 31, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by great service and comfortable rooms My husband and I stayed here for 1 night with 3 of our children for a stop over whilst travelling. we had 2 large rooms which were comfortably furnished and spotlessly clean. The staff were friendly, pleasant and highly attentive. Breakfast choices are basic but plentiful and the service excellent. I would highly recommend for a good value stay. July 24, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable bed and good service We needed a reasonably priced hotel near to a wedding venue. The Holiday Inn Express at Kettering fitted our requirements perfectly. Staff were welcoming and informative as soon as we arrived after a long drive. Our room was clean and comfortable for the all important cup of tea, to relax before getting ready for the evening. The lounge area is very welcoming with TV and bar. Breakfast is simple but is sufficient with plenty of choice. Staff very pleasant and friendly. All in all a great hotel which I highly recommend. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Pleasantly Surprised I needed a bed for the night before joining a business workshop at another venue in Kettering, so chose this establishment. What a pleasant surprise! The hotel is situated on the northern side of town, a £12 cab fare from the train station. If I had arrived earlier in the day, I would have been able to take a bus across town. I was greeted warmly by Terri at reception and checked in efficiently. My room was large and wheelchair friendly. There is free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel and the room boasted all the items I needed – coffee maker, comfortable bed, soft and firm pillows, marked appropriately, good lighting, flat screen TV to watch the World Cup football and cute decals on the mirrors reminding me that if I had forgotten any toiletries (or anything else) I should consult reception. Next morning the free breakfast was an added bonus – as was the plush bath sheet – unlike the small towels normally found in budget hotels. After an equally swift and smooth check-out by the still on duty Terri (doesn't she ever go off duty?), I left for my next assignment. Not sure when I will be in Kettering again, but, if I am, this will certainly be my choice of sleep and go! Maybe I’ll tarry awhile too. June 19, 2014

Excellent customer service from request to early check in to extra key and small breakfast requests ...this hotel is excellent value for money with good sized rooms and everything you need for an overnight or couple of nights stay. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by One embarrassing member of staff ! I was made to feel very embarrassed by one member of staff! At the end of a very busy day I returned to the hotel and decided to have a cup of tea at the guests 'serve yourself ' counter. There were nibbles and sandwiches there and so I put one on a plate ,only to be severely repremanded by a male receptionist. Very loudley, in front of lots of people, he told me they were for a meeting. and to put it back.....well , how about putting a little notice on them to make that clear then. !! Ruined my stay I pity the poor person who picked it up after me, hardly hygienic. June 15, 2014

Bar clean and staff very good even for my request of warm milk. Not a problem for them. Public areas clean and airy. Breakfast adequate though needed to be replenishes a little quicker. We chose the Holiday Inn when searching web for somewhere to stay that night. We were not disappointed with our choice, the bed was very comfortable, rooms very clean, and the staff were very friendly and helpful, we would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Shocking Customer Service This Is the email I received from the general manager after my complaint: Firstly thank you so much for feeding this back to me. Without your feedback we cannot improve on our service, and the way that you were made to feel in this situation is not acceptable. I have spoken to Debbie regarding this incident (as she had already notified me that you would be in touch) and she sends her apologies for causing embarrassment to you in front of your family. Debbie was the Duty Manager/Guest Service Manager on the night in question so I can see it would have been rather difficult from both sides to resolve at the time as requested by our Guest Relations team. Debbie has assured me that in no way did she mean to cause offence by her actions, and while I support her in following the company procedures I do not condone the way she made you feel and this is not our, or her usual way of treating our customers. She and I have discussed this in full today and she realised that in trying to keep explaining herself she ended up making the situation worse. Debbie is one of the team members with the best record in positive customer feedback so I was shocked to hear of this situation and send my wholehearted apologies to you. Debbie has assured me that going forward she will take more time to consider the guests situation and circumstances before taking any action. In reference to the telephone call, I can only again apologise. Unfortunately Intercontinental Hotel Group, of whom we are a franchise, do not offer a free phone number for Guest Relations. This will have automatically charged via our telecommunications system and cannot of been helped. I will ask that this be refunded to immediately. To surmise, I agree that on this occasion we did not meet your or our own expectations. As before both Debbie and I send our apologies that you experienced this at our hotel and if you are back in the area at any time we would love to show you our usual levels of service. I thank you again for giving me the opportunity to discuss this with you. June 5, 2014
