Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pleasant Surprise It has been over 10 years since we stayed at any Holiday Inn. Having had a few bad experiences we decided never to stay at this franchise again. A friend told us about this one and it was very close to where we wanted to go. So we decided to take a chance. I am so glad we did. Everything about this hotel was nice. We had a Two queen Suite which was very spacious and clean. The breakfast was more that I ever expected. It was a breakfast and not a bunch of carbohydrates thrown together. The staff was nice and very helpful. I will defiantly return to this hotel. October 7, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by staff the overall service that i recieved was up and beyond what i have ever recieved before. up pond leaving one ot the ladies that was in my party left her ipad in the room and the front desk clerk called me on my cell phone to let us know what we had done. since we hadn't got very far on our trip to holden beach we turned around and went back and picked up the ipad. Very nice area to stay in as there is easy access to interstate and the traffic congestion in the area is very low. Quite area around the hotel which makes it easy to relax. Rooms are always clean. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Friendly and helpful Front Desk My wife and I checked in after a long drive, the front desk lady, Moneta, was very nice and helpful and gave us good suggestions on places to eat. My wife was tired and gets cold easily, Moneta brought us some extra blankets to our room. The breakfast was great and we enjoyed it very much. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Helpful staff and lovely view We usually stay in Gastonia when visiting the area but I remembered that there was a Holiday Inn Express with a view of the mountain in Kings Mountain so we decided to try it. The desk attendant, Moneta, was very kind and helpful and gave us a room looking out at the mountain. Coming from Florida this was quite a treat for our family of 4! We enjoyed a stroll around the grounds and will use the pool on our next visit. Everything was quiet to enjoy a peaceful night of sleep.The accommodations were very nice and clean, the breakfast room was nothing short of elegant, and the arrangement of the tables gave a feeling of privacy. The breakfast choices were more than adequate and very tasty. We will be staying at Holiday Inn Express Kings Mountain on all our future trips to the area and recommend it to everyone over anything Gastonia has to offer! September 2, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Noisy You know you have checked into the wrong hotel, when you find ear plugs provided by the hotel in your room. This hotel is located right beside interstate 85 and must have limited insulation, as traffic noise was constant all night. We even tried white noise apps on our iPhone and even that could not reduce the noise to a level that would allow sleep. Yes, we did wear the ear plugs as well. This place is NOISY. I am a Platinum IHG Rewards Club member, so I stay in a LOT of IHG hotels. I will not be returning to Kings Mtn HIE for sure. August 19, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Check-in I have been staying at this HIE every week for two years. Yes, early on there were things we needed to work on, like I wanted the same room every week. Got it right. Check in is always very friendly, especially by Moneta! Her smile and welcoming me back each week is "Priceless!" One thing that is confusing. The first floor ice machine broke 2 weeks ago, close to three. When I checked out 8.14, it was still broke. Did hear they finally got approval to fix it. Seems strange you have to get approval to fix an ice machine. Sure is a pain to have to go to the 2nd floor for ice. August 18, 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Hotel needs renovations The carpet in the corridors and room was filthy. We turned back the sheets and found a spider crawling in the bed. The mattress needed to be replaced. You will roll to the middle of the bed with two people in the bed. The room was not fresh smelling. It made us feel like we did not want to touch anything. The furniture was in need of replacement. She said running out of water is frequent and we should take showers off of am peak time Asked about a 100% satisfaction policy. She said that H I express had no policy. Back at the room the small sign in the bathroom said they did. O Well! The rest of our 1 night stay was consistent with prior HI express stays elsewhere. Very consistent. July 13, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable bed, very attentive check in I checked in after midnite. I did not have a reservation and was not carrying my IHG card. The front desk lady showed much patience and was pleasant thruout. She looked for the best rate, and provided me with a room upgrade due to my IHG status. I got a great nites sleep, and the free breakfast in the morning was one of the best such breakfasts I have had. The breakfast provided a very lot of choice. Overall, a very nice stay. A July 2, 2014
