Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Feel Like a King at Holiday Inn Express in Kings Mountain
I have racked my brain to find something to fret about concerning my one-night stay, but alas there is nothing.
The staff, overall cleanliness--everywhere--room comfort and a truly outstanding breakfast, both staff, food quality and food options, were excellent. I highly recommend Kings Mountain Holiday Inn Express.

The hotel is nice and located just minutes from everything, however some of the staff need to better communicate with the guests and understand that they need to satisfy the paying customers.

very clean, large rooms, close to highway, small outdoor pool, the only negative I have, is the room we were in may have been a smoking room at some point as you could smell a faint smoke smell, otherwise everything was great. free breakfast was excellent..coffee and food were great.

A compact and modern facility, a few blocks away from the noisy interstate, nestled up against a nice wooded area. A half hour away from Charlotte, so missed rush hour traffic. Very close to a new shopping center and good selection of restaurants. Comfortable and quiet.

You know you have checked into the wrong hotel, when you find ear plugs provided by the hotel in your room. This hotel is located right beside interstate 85 and must have limited insulation, as traffic noise was constant all night. We even tried white noise apps on our iPhone and even that could not reduce the noise to a level that would allow sleep. Yes, we did wear the ear plugs as well. This place is NOISY. I am a Platinum IHG Rewards Club member, so I stay in a LOT of IHG hotels. I will not be returning to Kings Mtn HIE for sure.

I have been staying at this HIE every week for two years. Yes, early on there were things we needed to work on, like I wanted the same room every week. Got it right.
Check in is always very friendly, especially by Moneta! Her smile and welcoming me back each week is "Priceless!"
One thing that is confusing. The first floor ice machine broke 2 weeks ago, close to three. When I checked out 8.14, it was still broke. Did hear they finally got approval to fix it. Seems strange you have to get approval to fix an ice machine. Sure is a pain to have to go to the 2nd floor for ice.

If you are going to stay here, be sure to book a king room so you will be on the quiet side. All the queen rooms including the suites are very noisy. otherwise the hotel is pretty much like the other ones in the chain.

The carpet in the corridors and room was filthy. We turned back the sheets and found a spider crawling in the bed. The mattress needed to be replaced. You will roll to the middle of the bed with two people in the bed. The room was not fresh smelling. It made us feel like we did not want to touch anything. The furniture was in need of replacement.

Had luke warm water temp with dial all the way up. Complained to the counter person. She said running out of water is frequent and we should take showers off of
am peak time Asked about a 100% satisfaction policy. She said that H I express had no policy. Back at the room the small sign in the bathroom said they did. O Well!
The rest of our 1 night stay was consistent with prior HI express stays elsewhere. Very consistent.

I checked in after midnite. I did not have a reservation and was not carrying my IHG card. The front desk lady showed much patience and was pleasant thruout. She looked for the best rate, and provided me with a room upgrade due to my IHG status.
I got a great nites sleep, and the free breakfast in the morning was one of the best such breakfasts I have had. The breakfast provided a very lot of choice.

Very comfortable beds, pillows and very clean room. My 11 month old granddaughter was able to crawl around without getting dirty.

During check in I was not acknowledged as a Gold Level Member and was not offered any complimentary goody bag or extra points. Very disappointing to receive this type of treatment.
Very noisy room hard to relax and sleep after a long travel day.

Not overly impressed with this Holiday Inn Express compared to previous visits at other locations. The pictures on the website make this hotel look fairly new and it is not. Breakfast was good with lots of option.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 Not the cleanest room!
Although all the staff with whom I had contact were very nice and helpful, the room was not real clean. Examples: The carpet was NASTY and made my white tennis socks black. There were toothpaste splashes on the sink faucet and mirror from the room's previous guest.
The mattress was comfortable but the pillows not to my liking and there was no choice of pillows even though there were four on the bed.

Room location makes the difference. Much less noise and better WiFi connection than previous stays. Bedding, and especially quality and number of pillows exceeded expectations. In fact, could you supply me with the name of the pillows you use?

It would be helpful if the rooms had better sound proofing from the road noise. Also, I booked way in advance and I'm a frequent Holiday Inn guest - I should have been given a room not facing the freeway (always treat your returning guests well).

Not a bad hotel but the rooms stunk of cigarette smoke even though they told me they were "Non Smoking." I booked three rooms for three co-workers and everyone said their rooms smelled of masked smoke. For me that is a deal breaker as it might as well smelled
like a cattle yard. Thumbs down for this hotel. If you don't mind the smell of smoke with a squirt of air freshener, then you'll be fine.

Hotel, was quiet, clean, and really very nice for being on an interstate. I was attending a meeting about 15 miles and could have stayed closer, but this hotels value was well worth the drive.
